Vinted - does no one own an iron?

DD has introduced me to the joys of Vinted and I’ve sold a few things that were taking up space.

Had a bit of a look at what’s for sale and I can’t understand why people present an expensive item (relatively) like a scrunched up rag on a wonky hanger?

I don’t iron everything by any means but are irons just not a thing any more?

That's why I do it. The items I've sold have been decent anyway and arriving smelling of pomegranate noir can't be a bad thing 😊

I bought a Phase Eight jumper from ebay and It came in tissue and smelt lovely. It really made me feel like I had treated myself to something special. I gave the seller 5 stars.

I haven't ironed anything in years !

Capitulatingpanda · 06/04/2023 13:39

No I don't own one. I probably reduce prices a bit if they look super creased.

So many comments 'I don't know where my iron is'

That tells me all I need to know.

@BusterGonad oh well you learn something new everyday. Not going to convince me to start ironing though 😆

Don't get wrong, I despise ironing but since I've bought a decent steam iron it's not actually half as bad as it used to be. My clothes look 100 times better when ironed.
In regards to Vinted etc I must admit if its hanging up all scruffy and dishevelled I will judge and think it's been washed incorrectly too. Viscose is particularly bad for shrinking and it's got to look really good and presented well for me to buy preowned. I've been bitten far too many times and now 99% it has to be brand new.

For those asking, my ADHD periodically manifests itself in compulsive shopping. Then I forget to return stuff. It’s a real problem. I was horrified at myself when I cleared out a wardrobe recently
at just how much stuff I have that I’d forgotten I’d bought.

I also yo-yo diet, so have a tendency to horde clothes because I think it’ll probably
fit at some point. This inevitably turns out to be more bullshit I tell myself.

At least this way I can make some of my money back. Which I manage to do without ironing anything, thankfully.

Thank you for your response.

I buy and sell a fair bit. Everything gets ironed before being photographed. I just ironed a jacket today.

I am a visual buyer. If it's crumpled, I'm not buying it. It's just how it is. I'm my mind it hasnt been taken care of.

Seeing how many people here don't iron, how are you all wearing a 'crisp white shirt'?
(I'm not a fan is this term, but many many here are). Surely it can only be crisp if it's ironed ?
