Everyone welcome ..

@Countmeout It was such a let down! No ‘styling’ as far as I could see, just wearing clothes - which is different. I would like some new now - my Sezane dress I ordered is going back as florals on a 20 something look cute and vintage. On 40 something me - not so much, just looked uncool. Still, £170 saved I guess…

Stoic123 · 06/04/2023 17:08

Disappointing video so time for another pair of socks.

Stoic123 · 06/04/2023 17:11

Nothing is appealing at the moment which is quite good for my bank balance. I did order some more soap (Cardamom) to get the Kindle gift.

Dee1224 · 06/04/2023 17:32

I really like those socks @Stoic123

@faustina - sorry the jacket didn’t work out.🤞it reappears in the next sale. I am going back to the SM store at the weekend to get the tee that I left behind, so in the event they have the jacket there in an 8 or a 6, I will let you know. It’s a long shot, but you never know!

Laska2Meryls · 06/04/2023 17:34

Ahem ....Am I allowed to confess to being really pleased with a new pair of M&S wide leg trousers...or will I get banned? ..
I wore them out to lunch today with Toast Francis tee and Toast cotton and hemp shirt /jacket ( that I am pretty sure that that I bought from Faustina a couple of years ago on ebay ) ...and nany flatform trainers with white soles ..

Very nice @Laska2Meryls!

Stoic123 · 06/04/2023 17:47

@Laska2Meryls - looks good and you are still wearing plenty of Toast anyway.

I think I have the same jacket (like it but loose buttons) so nice to see it styled. Don't wear it enough.

Laska2Meryls · 06/04/2023 17:51

That jacket looks 'denim' @Stoic123 ..its quite lightweight...

I'm glad that I haven't lost all my Toast cred !

Noeggsontoast · 06/04/2023 18:32

@Laska2Meryls they look great and I have recently bought a pair of smart denim flat fronted trousers from M and S to wear with the neater linen sweaters and blouses I have from Toast. They're a lovely light pair. Definitely no Toast cred lost.

I'm enjoying the sock sharing. My favourite pair have been the long blue socks with diamond pattern I bought in the winter sale. I totally surprised myself with the love I have for them.

I did see the video today and it totally put me off the dip dyed silk dress I adored from the photos.

I'd like to see some new things in good time before ours hols in June.

I was watching the third season of Unforgotten last night and spotted a few previous season Toast things. It is always interesting to see how others are wearing a garment you have.

Anyway onwards and upwards to the long weekend. Hope everyone has good weather so we can all enjoy our Toastie garments.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 06/04/2023 19:00

I did watch the video eventually, I was disappointed with the things shown and felt they were styled really poorly.

@Noeggsontoast I thought I spotted some Toast in Unforgotten.

faustina · 06/04/2023 19:29

@Laska2Meryls - yes it was me with the denim jacket - and it looks really nice on you! Too cold for my new organic denim jacket today, but I've been wearing it a lot, and I've managed to prise myself out of jeans into the beautiful ochre Toast trousers - still not warm enough for any Alex wearing, or the sideline Billys yet

@Dee1224 - that would be so kind of you to ask about the jacket - thank you! I think the 8 would be perfect (if it's sixty quid) - I'm very envious that you live near enough to Kilver Court to keep on popping in

Laska2Meryls · 06/04/2023 20:01

I am glad that I Dont live near Kilver Court... It would be the ruin of me !! 😂

That jacket was a great buy for me @faustina .. I have worn it a lot... X

I bought the Fenugreek Balloon trousers as I love the colour and the space check ones XS look ok on me. ( unlike all the lovely pleated ones in Toast which have way too much volume in the front on me )
I bought them in XXS based on info gleaned here; they fit well and look nice , but the rise isn’t’ deep enough for me to wear them very high waisted without a bit of a wedgie.
I popped into my local store and they had XS , but they were unflatteringly big Typical Toast trouser story for me these days, love the styles on the models but they just don’t work well for my body shape.
@Laska2Meryls Have you found any shrinkage in the wash?
I’m tempted to keep XXS and hope for the best , but much shrinkage would be a problem.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/04/2023 20:43

I was the opposite of you @OftenOrange I found the mediums in those trousers way to much rise. Couldn't stand it. I ordered the small and although they are better, they are still pretty low on the crotch.
Every jumpsuit I have ever got from Toast has been the same. To low in the crotch! I really cannot stand the feeling. Even the jersey loop trousers in medium were the same. Again, the small are better but still quite low all the same.

neveradullmoment99 · 06/04/2023 20:44

The video was ok. I actually loved the orange dress, infact, I loved all the dresses!!! Made me want to buy one but I have sat on my hands. Ive spent way too much and really want to just wear what I have. I still have 2 sale dresses yet to wear.

OftenOrange · 06/04/2023 21:11

@neveradullmoment99 How funny , for me there’s no drop crotch whatsoever in either size.
Guessing you won’t be shopping this look😂

@faustina - sadly, I don’t live near Shepton Mallet, but I have booked a week away this week to somewhere which, by total coincidence, happens to be nearby . Going back on Saturday and will definitely ask for you x

faustina · 06/04/2023 21:43

What a fortuitous and wonderful coincidence! Thank you @Dee1224 - and I hope you find your tshirt still there!

Laska2Meryls · 06/04/2023 22:19

@OftenOrange .. I haven't actually worn mine yet ( bought in hopes of summer warmth) so have not washed them.. but my ones from last year -the space check and black coffee- have both been washed and neither have shrunk .I usually wash at 30deg .. However the space check , I managed to get a bit of curry on one thigh, and they survived a stain pre treatment and 40deg wash without shrinkage. (and luckily the mark came out )..

I just watched the latest styling video.. tbh I wasn't hugely impressed, was surprised that they made the lovely Thorn work wear shirt look so bad by wearing it under the tank.. and the silk dress and skirt looked disappointing- not that I am inthe market for them anyway Nikki looked good though in the outfit .. and I may try the knitted green top ....

Countmeout · 07/04/2023 10:36

Does anyone have Bensimon shoes, the ones with elastic at the front and can advise on sizing length wise ? Are the snug or generous? I quite fancy a pair.

TempleofZoom · 07/04/2023 10:56

I wasn't impressed with either of the latest styling videos, they were both very brief, terrible lighting and the latest, the dress one showed 6 dresses only.
It was so close up it made me feel dizzy and there was zero sense of the proportions plus the silk dress looked horribly creased.
They had sorted the videos out but back to being amateurish.
If they want us to spend £200 plus on a dress at least make the videos a bit better!

Laska2Meryls · 07/04/2023 13:15

I am having a 'day off at home' i.e doing absolutely nothing ( except reading sitting in the conservatory which is of course better than anything else!) .. DH is out so just me and next doors cat who has wandered in for a snooze .. Am wearing my Toast copper linen balloon trousers ( bought in winter sale and having their first outing ) and navy Emma half sleeve tee.. if I can stir myself I may have a cup of tea in my new mug ...
