I’ve just had these delivered- they are indigo and the label warns of colour rub! Looks like I might have to wash them first

dudsville · 05/05/2023 11:58

The sizing change is incredibly annoying. Although I was told in store that those in the middle (I'm one) won't experience much change, when you read online reviews that's not the case. The real pita is the suggestions they make based upon body measurements - the issue is the cut of the pattern of the item, they really should just give those measurements instead.

Snowyowl78 · 05/05/2023 12:41

Denim panel trousers are great, they are not big. I would suggest 12-14 = Medium. 10-12 maybe small? The crotch looked a bit odd out of the bag, but were fine on. They are comfy and look like jeans which was what I wanted. Keeper! The kaftan dress is big, very lightweight and vaguely see through. Not keeping. It’s nice though, sizing wise it’s big so downsize unless you want it oversized.

That's great news. Think my mediums will be fine 🙂

I’ve also tried a Lydia Dress but it’s weirdly small. Will probably send it back.

I may keep this- has anyone got it? I like it but I decided to keep it when trying on thinking it was £150, it’s actually £195 so I shall give it some more consideration. It’s very comfortable and flattering, more lightweight than I imagined.

I would love to see a pic of the denim panel trousers on a real person if anyone doesn't mind?

Stoic123 · 05/05/2023 14:48

@Stravaig - thanks for information. I've checked my account and I had a max £1 selling fees offer so activated it. Valid till Monday.

So do I just need to list by Monday and sell within a month to only pay £1 to eBay?

Sorry- newbie here.

Stravaig · 05/05/2023 15:05

@Stoic123 Yes, any listings you start during the offer period should be covered, up to the number they allow (my current offer is max 100 listings). There's a wee counter on the offer, avail/used, worth checking that your new listing has changed the numbers to 99/1, etc.

Check the exact times too, my offers are usually valid until 23:59 on Mon night. You can often see the last minute flurry of new listings appear on Mon evenings!

Stoic123 · 05/05/2023 15:08

@Stravaig - great. Thank you.

I bought the Lydia dress last year and it was also weirdly small, I was quite affronted by it and convinced myself it was wrongly sized.

Countmeout · 05/05/2023 19:28

I have the Lydia dress. It is not one of their largest fitting pieces.

AmethystMoonShine · 06/05/2023 06:49

Not Toast I know, but I have a vague memory that someone bought a cheesecloth dress from Forage Somerset last year. Might have been @faustina?
If so, I was wondering if the dress was deemed a success or not?

faustina · 06/05/2023 07:57

@AmethystMoonShine - I might have mentioned them, as I've noticed them on Insta, but I've never actually bought from them.

AmethystMoonShine · 06/05/2023 08:08

Ah okay, thanks @faustina I couldn’t recall if you’d made a purchase.

Snowyowl78 · 06/05/2023 11:31

@ilovecherries it is small! I’d need a large. Not sure I am too keen anyway as it doesn’t do me many favours being straight up and down.

there is a 20% off selected items flash sale at Kate Sheridan this weekend if anyone’s interested.

Snowyowl78 · 06/05/2023 11:40

Beware though, no free returns

OftenOrange · 06/05/2023 12:50

Plumo ( Scandiwegian collection) have a massive sale , new season and old . Some very Toast like pieces and interesting bags.

Beware of their returns policy on sale items. Very often an credit note and no refund.

OftenOrange · 06/05/2023 15:05

@neveradullmoment99 You’re right , it seems quite tricky and on one occasion of real knockdown prices they didn’t allow returns, that seems quite ridiculous.
I used to buy from them when they stocked Humanoid ,the brand I loved before Brexit.

faustina · 06/05/2023 15:33

I managed to find a pair of Alix in slate to make up for the slate cotton/linen trousers which I ebayed last year (because too big). I am so happy! It was one of the few things I could buy on Ebay without worrying about the bizarre size, fit issues as I already have two pairs, but it also means I don't have to spend time and energy on an order/return doom cycle from Toast

I often get sucked into the Plumo sale emails and then find most things only have £5 off - not worth it for the hassle of the dodgy returns.

TKMaxx have a small; selection of Beaumont Organic at the moment if anyone's interested. I think it's online only and you have to look quite early in the morning for new pieces which they do each day. I ordered some nice Tessa trousers in ecru and they're really well cut. They also have dresses

OftenOrange · 06/05/2023 15:52

@faustina What a great Ebay find, good to hear a success story.
I forgot to cancel Ebay sales out of. the 80%off period and of course something just sold.
I’ve noticed that almost nothing I’ve sold has received feedback, I didn’t realise it was a universal experience and thought people weren’t pleased .

Talking about feedback, I can’t remember the last time Toast asked me to leave a review, and then it was for a sale item that had sold out .
Any reason I’ve upset them? 😢

faustina · 06/05/2023 15:57

It's a shame when people don't leave feedback because it's something I actually look at if I'm thinking of buying - I guess it's because Ebay isn't like it used to be so much.

Someone on the new FB group is selling some slate alixes in a 12 - they are worth every penny if anyone's considering whether to get them!

neveradullmoment99 · 06/05/2023 16:05

Ebay would do much better if there was an incentive to provide feedback. There is a website I frequently use for work that when you purchase something from them, then provide feedback you gain points that are like rewards and then you can collect them to purchase something else. I think its a good system. It doesn't matter if the feedback isn't that great, you still get the points.
