How can I style trainers for wedding?

Ds is getting married in August, it is a registry office wedding. I'm disabled & unable to wear normal shoes due to arthritis & neuropathy. I have found a dress but I can't work out to style it with trainers, I intend to buy a new pair so they are spotless for the day.

If you have to wear trainers I'd get a brand new plain hot pink pair and own the look! Also, unless you're very tell, you may well hardly see them under that long dress (which is gorgeous by the way). Alternatively another colour from the dress - the purple perhaps. Definitely not the stark white look.

Where is the dress from by the way?

Nat6999 · 22/03/2023 02:58

It's from Elsie's Attic online.

Does it have to be trainers OP? I'm just wondering if any other soft soled flats would work, like lace up brogues or even flip flops, might expand the options a bit.

I quite like the shoes in the pic with that dress so if it has to be trainers I'd go that shade of bright orange, preferably all over with no white trim, and leather looks smarter IMO.

In a way the dress helps, so I agree with BritinAus own the look, go with brand new, and a bright colour from the dress. Mango do a bright pink mono leather one, and Adidas would be worth a look.

My feet are badly deformed with arthritis & I'm very self conscious of them so I can't wear any form of sandal, I know last summer everyone was wearing trainers with dresses so it felt like a good choice for me because I don't know how much standing around & walking there will be. I think I have found a hot pink Cross body bag as I need both hands for my crutches.

@Nat6999 what about these? Have you looked at orthopaedic shoes?

Dress is lovely OP! I still like the white leather trainers with dresses look (is that not in any more?!)
you will look fab!

MysteryBelle · 22/03/2023 04:14

Love your dress, and you look great in it. I agree with pp on colors for the trainers.

Nat6999 · 22/03/2023 05:29

It isn't me, that is the model on the website, I'm the same height as her but two dress sizes bigger.

I would go for bright pink trainers.

Helpmeoutforamoment · 22/03/2023 05:34

I wore white trainers for my wedding last year, I jazzed them up with diamanté "I do" on the back.

I'd go with either hot pink or white. I love your dress, congratulations

magicthree · 22/03/2023 05:40

Love the dress OP! I agree that trainers in a bright colour would look great. Enjoy the day.

ApolloandDaphne · 22/03/2023 05:41

I agree hot pink would be great. I would also re-lace them with ribbon in a contrasting colour so you can tie a lovely bow.

Tirrrrred · 22/03/2023 05:52

White or blue not hot pink

IVF22 · 22/03/2023 05:58

Dress looks lovely. I think some nice clean trainers would look great. I would go for white personally x

TrianglePlayer · 22/03/2023 06:08

I think you will look fabulous as long as, as you’ve said, the trainers are brand new and super clean (although maybe wear them around the house a bit so they’re comfy for you on the day). Bright white or a bright colour, either will be fine.

VenusClapTrap · 22/03/2023 06:51

Plain bright orange or pink. Not white with that fabulous dress.

Reader1303 · 22/03/2023 08:46

This is an Australian brand - not sure if they are sold where you are but they do ship internationally. They have some great colours and are super comfortable.

That dress is fantastic OP. Love it. I think it's the kind of dress that would go well with trainers anyway - it's funky and bright.

I think you'll look amazing. Good luck with the trainer hunt - I agree you need a brightly colored pair and not white ones.
