... that isn't ruinously expensive! available from high street stores ie boots, superdrug etc too if possible. Many thanks in advance.

I love La Roche Posay for high quality, reasonably priced daily SPF.
I alternate between the ultra-light lotion and a mattifying SPF. They have a age-correct one which is richer in texture also. Basically, a really good wide range of products and often discounted by 20-30%.
The body SPF is brilliant too.

I have used many if the more expensive french pharmacy type brands in the past and find myself perfectly happy with the Nives Factor 50. I've just bought my 4th tube.

So1invictus · 15/03/2023 13:27

Garnier spf50 facial sunscreen

harriethoyle · 15/03/2023 13:34

Thanks all - @MerylSqueak do you use the mattifying one?

I like the No.7 Protect and Perfect ones.

They're pretty inexpensive if you get them on 3 for 2 and use a £5 off No.7 voucher.

This BoJ one is amazing www.yesstyle.com/en/beauty-of-joseon-relief-sun-50ml/info.html/pid.1107744417

Garnier do a great dupe for la Roche posay

Altruist face fluid on amamzon is £9

Runningupthathill78 · 15/03/2023 14:44

Heliocare 360. Love it and seen a huge improvement in my skin over the last 5 years

Minesril · 15/03/2023 14:45

I use the one from body shop, it's really good.

muddlingthrou · 15/03/2023 14:55

Depends what your skin is like. I am constantly battling shine, so I love Eucerin Sun Oil Control. It's so light and absorbs into my skin like nothing else.

MerylSqueak · 15/03/2023 17:30

Yes the shine control.

ClassicHummus · 15/03/2023 17:32

I love Cetaphil Daily Defence SPF 50 moisturiser - it is pretty thick and does need a little time to sink in. BUT it leaves my skin nice and soft, never causes me to break out and is the only SPF that doesn't irritate my eyes.

Another vote for La Roche. I use their factor 50 as moisturiser between March and October; I love it so much that I'm swapping to all year round. I also have the Clarins spray one that I use to top up throughout the day too as it means I can top up if there's nowhere to wash my hands. I usually buy them when they're on the 2 for 1 deals in Boots or Superdrug and keep the spares in a cupboard out of direct sunlight.

Ultrasun Face 50. It’s not cheap but a little goes a long way and it is very effective

Sorryyoufeelthatway · 15/03/2023 18:20

Good ole Nivea Face or Ultrasun. Ooh also Superdrug sensitive face. All in sun care section rather than moisterisers

Niftythrifter · 15/03/2023 18:26

Garnier

lmnabc · 15/03/2023 18:29

I did them rather greasy. Do you apply it under moisturiser or instead of it?

Artemisty · 15/03/2023 18:54

Cerave spf 50. In the summer I wear it on its own as it's moisturising enough. In the winter I layer it.

louderthan · 15/03/2023 22:07

Gruum daily defence lotion. Not widely available in shops but quick delivery and it's brilliant

Garnier SPF 50, about £5.

Imnoonesfool · 15/03/2023 22:12

Heliocare 360, I was recommended this by a dermatologist and have used it for the last 3 years, it’s brilliant

Footle · 15/03/2023 22:13

The Altruist, another vote
