Are jeans tacky?

I watched a podcast by Anna Bey, social media influencer and owner of a finishing school and she said that jeans make one look cheap, tacky, and to avoid them at all cost.

What do you think?

Wait, not to throw (too much) shade but this woman runs a finishing school? She looks like a runner up in Miss Poland 2017.

I don't pay attention to influencers. To long in the tooth for all that. If I want to look like a hot mess, let me look like a hot mess.

I think being an influencer is deeply tacky so each to their own.

No idea who this is but she clothes and articulates herself like 'working class with a bit of cash', so fairly ordinary and not much to see here, and on we go, lol.

Etiquette and elegance is more about knowing what is appropriate for the situation. Yes wearing jeans at Cheltenham Ladies Day would look cheap and tacky, but wearing a dress and heels would look ridiculous when watching your sons rugby game, or even just going to the supermarket.
Elegance is not a one-style-fits-all approach - wear x, y and z, don’t wear a, b and c. People have different body shapes, suit different colours, and just have different taste.
It’s about developing your personal style so that you are always appropriate.

so, basically, Anna Fey is talking out of her behind and you are best taking what she says with a pinch of salt.

I think I'd like to see what Tattle thinks of her "influencer" role first....

I completely disagree! The styles of jeans are forever changing with the fashion trends. I always rely on a straight leg jeans for a smart and casual look. Styled with a shoulder bag and a pair of boots creates a really timeless look that doesn't look at all cheap.
