Weight vs. dress size

I am 12 stone at 5'6 and struggling to fit into a size 16-18.
Does this sound about right?

I'm aware that I'm overweight but I'm so depressed about my clothes. I've got big boobs and can never wear anything shapely so I look like a bin bag all the time.

I'm sure 12 stone would've been about a 14 when I was younger.

What size/weight are you?

I think body shape counts for a lot, even when I was 8.5stone at 5ft7in I was a 12.

I'm over 11 stone now and a size 14.

106kg and a size 18

I'm 12 st 6 and wear size 16, I'm 5'7.

5’0”, 8 st 9lbs, size 8-10

I’m 5ft 5.5 inches. I weigh 9.5 stone and am a size 10.

I do go to the gym 5 x per week (a mix of spinning & weight resistance training) - so I’m quite toned.

Just under 13st, 5'7" 12-14. I do a lot of exercise.

Yes, really. I wish I were joking! Sadly I’m not. My measurements definitely don’t correspond well to my weight. If you were to look at me, you’d definitely assume I was overweight, even though by BMI and waist to hip ratio I’m not.

I'm pretty solid, but compact if that makes sense.

I'm currently 12 stone at 5'5 and wear size 12-14.

5ft 7 and currently 12st 2lb, size 14. If I can lose another 8 or 9 lb I'll be a 12. Small boobs, a good waist but a big frame (size 8 shoes, big hands, broad shoulders). I have never been smaller than a 12 in adult clothing. At 2 st heavier a year ago I was an 18.
I once saw an article in a magazine where there were photos of maybe 6 women, all 11 st, wearing the same underwear and all looking very different in terms of body shape.

@NorthernSoul55 yes it's so interesting how we are all made differently.
I was lucky enough to take part in a photo shoot recently and three of us were size 14, 5ft6, except when we tried the trousers on they were far too long for me, but fitted the other two ladies well.

Turns out I have a very long torso and short legs. At 52 I kind of knew that, but not really so now I understand why sometimes I have to go for the short length, even though I'm reasonably tall.

Such an interesting thread. I'm 5ft 5.5 and around 10 and a half stone. I am mostly a 10 but sometimes an 8 and sometimes a 12 depending on what and where I'm buying from. I have a flat stomach, no hips or boobs but chunky thighs and am quite broad.

I'm also 5'4, 11ish stone and I'm a 14. Weird, isn't it?
