A decent pair of loafers. They are proper comfy and I feel very smart in a slightly middle class way. Like I'm the sort of person who dresses for dinner. They are not the most beautiful shoe but I needed something inbetween.

What have you bought recently that you never bought before?

Expensive cleansing balm to go with my new reusable cloths. I really love the cloths but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £40 every couple of months on the balm. I've just read that M&S do I good one for £12, so that's next on my list to try!

Not clothes or shoes, but LRP Niacinamide serum. Oh my word, it's absolutely magical. My dry, red, spotty, sentive skin is finally looking really rather presentable, and it's only been 10 days. Overjoyed with it!

@Dzogchen It's La Roche Posay Niacinamide 10 serum. I'd say you can buy it in most big chemists? I tried loads of samples first, cos it's quite expensive. I'll need to change to a cheaper one once this bottle is gone. The Ordinary and the Inkey List do much cheaper serums, I've seen.

My allbirds trainers. The mizzle ones so are waterproof. Incredibly comfortable and I think look great too. They are described as running shoes but perfect for every day wear - casual look

I just bought a Florida license plate, with the State of Florida and the oranges on it. Used and cost me $4.50. I absolutely love it and will put it up in my home.

Estee Lauder Futurist foundation - it's very runny, so I fear it might be a bit wasteful, but it gives a lovely finish. My skin was getting too old and dry for Double Wear and it was looking a bit cakey and too matt.

Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt perfume. It makes me feel like a grown up and reminds me of lazy days by the beach. I love it - got it from Vinted as it's stupidly expensive new!!

How funny I have a Virginia number plate from when DF worked there.

They are Dune Guardian tan. Worn them round house so far. Intended for work with 7/8 trousers. Needed a high vamp so I can walk 30m to work. Couldn't quite commit to high shine or bling hardware.

Oh also Elemis pro collagen for under eyes. It is literally a drop so think it will last. And Lily Silk pillow cases from amazon. Half side silk half cotton, so not as stupid expensive. I love sleeping on them.

Lego! Honestly the happiest couple of hours of my recent life putting it together.

I'd now have a whole house of it if I could! DH would be up for it, if I didn't have to agree to him filling his half of the house with Star Wars versions, which I am definitely not here for!

Knee high boots from Zara, modest 3" heel. Contrary to MN opinion, knee highs appear to be back in. Wearing them lots with all kind of dresses and even with opaque tights and mini skirts.

@SeeSawSeen I've been using the one from Geek & Gorgeous - it's cheap and brilliant! I think it's called B-Bomb or something (Niacinamide is a B vitamin I believe?)

It feels like everything that was out is back in - knee length skirts, knee high boots etc. I'm waiting for a return of the graduated preferably asymettric bob, I will be front of the queue as my hair is stupid thick.

Trinny London BFF eye. Just bought second tube. It’s like a serum/light reflecting concealer that is so light and soothing. Really gives a good base for eye makeup. They colour match too.
