Have ordered a bar of the petigrain soap - not expensive and I know I’ll use it. Fingers crossed for a lovely little kindred treat 😊

dudsville · 31/03/2023 18:35

I'll be curious to hear what the gift is. I didn't have a use for that scarf and that was the 1st gift I'd received so I'm not too excited, but it's socks that's a different matter entirely.

dudsville · 31/03/2023 18:36

🤣 great typo @neveradullmoment99 !

dudsville · 31/03/2023 18:38

I'm in all toast today but that's not surprising any more. Today is a blame dear though in black linen trousers and a black easy tee with a kind of grandad cardi, i can't recall what they called it.

dudsville · 31/03/2023 18:47

Google says it's the alpaca marl easy cardigan. I bought both colours, ordinarily i wouldn't wear the fawn but i think its ok, and more importantly it's got the hygge factor of proper comfy cosiness!

OftenOrange · 31/03/2023 18:55

Love hearing about Toast outfits, I often feel perplexed when it comes to varying combinations, I’m a magpie shopper rather than a rational one.
Hence I’m wearing my older pair of side button Annie indigo jeans , new Sale Citrus Green tie neck cardi , matchy matchy socks bought before and Solovair lace up boots . Just back from cinema visit to see Allelujah , brilliant film.
Would have gone to Toast for a look after , but rain put me off.

Noeggsontoast · 31/03/2023 19:17

I've ordered some socks. Thanks for the heads up on the kindred gift. I'm wearing Ashley jeans, blue fair isle from this past season and kitty clogs today. It's horrid here. I really wish spring would come, I want to get out of knitwear even though knitwear is my thing. I bought a lovely pair of dungarees in a sea type green from Seasalt, bit like the Toast green they're doing this season in trousers) and I'd like a nice day to wear them!

faustina · 31/03/2023 19:46

@Noeggsontoast which Kitty Clogs? I'm thinking of getting the heeled ones but wanted to know how heavy they are, also the fit

Was only partly Toast today - the lovely organic denim jacket with ochre trousers (Thrift bargain) -luckily room under the jacket for a navy cashmere jumper, but I was still freezing - had to wear gloves!

Laska2Meryls · 31/03/2023 20:00

Its great hearing how we are wearing our Toast..
Perhaps we should post this often, ( as in the 'What we are wearing today' thread)..At least 75% of my wardrobe is Toast .. But any inspiration of new ways and colour combinations to wear it is great ..

My recent sale purchase (and one and only pair ) of toast socks have been so comfy and warm today.. but I still cannot bring myself to pay £28 a pair!
Sale only for me .. ( sadly given the rise in their prices , will have to be for most things now)

Noeggsontoast · 31/03/2023 20:19

@faustina they're the ones they had last season - chestnut brown leather and low heel. I'm a size 38 and took that size. My feet are quite narrow but they fit perfectly. I find them really comfy with or without socks and not too heavy. I was surprised at how light they were when they arrived. I like the indentation for the big toe in the wood too.

Trinitybean · 31/03/2023 20:23

Has anyone kept the floral crepe dress in oil/birch? It prob makes me look enormous but it's so nice, just wondering if it's comfortable enough to wear. Have the Sutton gingham coming so will choose.

faustina · 31/03/2023 20:24

Thanks Noeggs - they sound nice. I can't wait for clog weather here - all mine are pretty flat too, but they're indoors only for the time being - so much rain! Maybe I will aim for a Toast shop clog try on when it's a bit drier

Noeggsontoast · 31/03/2023 21:01

@faustina I am liking these to replace my wood chunky heeled sandals which I've had 10 years. Such a great price.

faustina · 31/03/2023 21:10

They're nice! I have some high heeled clogs from Lotta of Stockholm which I must dig out of the wardrobe - they don't have a back strap though - and those are a prettier colour

MiracleToast · 31/03/2023 21:11

Will I really receive a kindred gift if I buy only a bar of soap?

Saurus72 · 31/03/2023 21:32

my order confirmation says so @MiracleToast

MiracleToast · 31/03/2023 21:33

Thank you @Saurus72 in I go!

MiracleToast · 31/03/2023 21:35

Oh no, it doesn’t say it in the order confirmation

MiracleToast · 31/03/2023 21:38

Panic over I found it

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 31/03/2023 22:27

I ordered the linen balloon trousers in fenugreek today, no idea about the kindred gift, just went and checked and found it on my order - hoping for socks as well.
I've been wearing my loden gabis today with this seasons breton, toast socks, and a bandana, unfortunately the rain meant I ended up in a quilted jacket and fly boots. Hopefully my new Fracap ankle shoes will get an outing soon.

BlackRookInRainyWeather · 01/04/2023 00:40

@Trinitybean
I can’t keep up with all the threads here but I paid full price for the oil/birch dress in autumn and have worn it loads. I find it really lovely to wear and looks good for any occasion. I wear it to work. I have washed it and it looked fab once I had ironed it. I do like the colours and pattern.

Firesideknitting · 01/04/2023 00:45

I order 2 swimsuits and 2 pairs of sandals, needed a little retail pick me up after a totally awful experience with Kate Barton designs, looking forward to the kindred gift … also have another sale item due to be delivered tomorrow…. Got a few bit that I’ve had in my sewing pile for adjusting to make them fit my body type better …

ilovecherries · 01/04/2023 08:20

I’m not quite sure what to do about all my summer Toast (or indeed my winter Toast but that can wait). I got them all out of the loft yesterday and not a single thing fits. Even with Toast-type styling they don’t work. I like an oversized vibe but these have definitely gone past that. Everything is at least two sizes too big. I’m not sure if I should sell, pack them away for another year and see if my weight changes (which it might as nothing life threatening happened, just miserable and awful), or alter them. Anyway, I loved my toast clothes and most are items that don’t seem to turn up a lot on eBay and if they do are at near original prices. Nothing in the current range is screaming ‘buy me’ even if I wanted to. I haven’t found an alterations service that I trust to do more than hems, I’ve had some pretty slapdash work from everyone local-ish and can’t find any personal recommendations. Plus I have nothing to wear, and I realise I had so many lovely things that all look like shit on me now. I’d been so excited to get everything out and have a fresh seasonal start in the hope it would cheer me up and literally nothing works. Oh - and my wrinkles now have wrinkles! So Toasties - tell me what you would do if your carefully curated Toast wardrobe was suddenly not available?

Oh I would keep your beautiful items and just buy a few pieces that you love right now, even from other places. I kind of feel your pain but the other way round! Menopause has seen to that! I've stuff that's too small.
How come you've lost so much weight cherries? -stress? I say this because are you likely to.put your weight back on? Do you want yo put the weigh back on?
If you've not put it on another year, maybe sell some stuff.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/04/2023 08:51

Oh that’s awkward @ilovecherries , I guess it really depends on why you’ve lost all that weight and whether it’s likely to be permanent.
I’m planning on getting all my spring / summer toast out today and I suspect, like @neveradullmoment99 , I'm going to have the opposite problem.

I think I would keep things for a while longer and see how you feel further in to the summer. Also maybe look further afield for alteration services. And, yes, find a few pieces that you can love from elsewhere if the new toast items aren’t calling to you.
