I am RUBBISH with this sort of thing.

This is my dress (pics).

I can't do heels, not even wedges. I'd try and then within 15 mins I'd be cursing myself for thinking it was ok and changing into flip flops.
On which note, flip flops would be the footwear of choice but I can't risk one of them flipping or flopping off as I'm walking down the aisle.

I've found these which I think might work

But apart from that, any ideas? I don't think gladiator sandals go, which would be second choice after Havaianas. I'm thinking gold or ivory colour.

For reference, I'm a size 16 and definitely cart horse rather than race horse, so dainty really isn't my style...!!

I wore these - www.katespade.co.uk/en-gb/shoes/trista-sneakers/K7204.html?dwcolor=CREAM.#start=1&page=1

Very comfortable and cute - but not everyone wants trainers as their wedding shoes!

They're sneakers or plimsolls - not trainers.

They are beautiful.

Beautiful dress and the pumps you chose are perfect (although I do likeAnonymouslyposting's sneakers too)

UsingChangeofName · 20/02/2023 17:17

I do like the ones you linked to, but, am inclined to think that - as you have a floor length dress, your footwear isn't going to be on any photos anyway so wear whatever you are comfortable in, which includes pumps as also linked to, or a friend of mine got some converse that she would then wear afterwards.
You are likely to be on your feet for a lot of hours - be comfortable. Smile

TheHauntedPencilCase · 20/02/2023 17:22

I'm not keen on your pumps but your dress is beautiful and they will look lovely so if you will find them comfy I would go for it. I've 2 friends who married in flip flops though so don't discount them! Have an amazing wedding 👟💍

pawz · 20/02/2023 17:26

I wore these!! In the photos they're peaking out in they look sparkly and fab, expensive definitely but tbh I was thrilled with them. Didn't fall over, off my feet or cause me to stumble! Love them.

If you like flip flops, maybe take a look at FitFlop flats. I am something of a convert but they are soo comfy. They are just basic ballet flats but with fitflop insoles so they're just like wearing trainers. They are literally the only shoes I can wear now without being uncomfy. Given that your dress is long, you can get away with whatever you want.

breatheinskipthegym · 20/02/2023 17:29

The flats you posted are gorgeous, and totally in-keeping with the dress. Keep in mind though that you can buy Havaianas with a back strap to hold them more securely than standard flip flops.

Your dress is so beautiful too!

Netcam · 20/02/2023 19:05

I got these for my wedding in October, obviously not perhaps the colour for your dress, but they are about as girly as I would ever dream of going. They are made by the French company Arche and their shoes are so soft and comfortable. Really I am someone who only wears expensive trainers or lace up shoes with orthopaedic rocker soles as I have suffered from plantar fasciitis and have really sensitive feet. I have terrible trouble finding shoes that are comfortable and never wear heels or even wedges. I survived the whole day in these with a reasonable amount of standing and walking and am pleased to have them now for times when I want to dress up a bit.

Oh, the dress is LUSH! Shoes are beautiful too. Congratulations OP!

Trainer - a type of light, comfortable shoe that can be worn for sport

Trainer - a soft sports shoe suitable for casual wear

Seems like a trainer to me, just because YOU might not call it that, doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

The shoes in the link by Anonymouslyposting are not sports shoes.

BlackbeardsToast · 20/02/2023 19:50

Yes, just what the OP needs. A debate about whether something posted by someone else is a pair of trainers or sneakers.

FWIW OP I think your shoe choice is absolutely spot on.

Judgyjudgy · 20/02/2023 19:52

I think you just have to be aware that really flat ballets can hurt your feet too, so you might be better off with sandles

MKCH · 22/02/2023 21:35

Thank you everyone!

I ordered the Kate Spade pumps and they arrived today (I went for the gold/silver ones rather than cream though) and they are absolutely beautiful and fit very well, so thank you @Anonymouslyposting !!

The original ones I linked to are arriving tomorrow. I have to go to the bridal shop on Friday to get the bridesmaid dress so I might see if they have my dress there too for a quick try on and take both pairs with me to try with the dress - or at least try with the sample one they have in the shop.

I have to consider the weather - wedding is towards the end of June - so will I be too sweaty in the pumps, what if it rains etc - but they're a lovely pair of pumps!!

Bloody gorgeous dress! Love it.

I know I’m late to the party, but I saw these shoes and had to link them for you, just in case!

If money’s no object, I’ve always wanted a pair of these. They’re so pretty!!!

I live in fitflop flats!
the sliver ballet shoes are half price at the moment!
more comfy than trainers.
(size16 cart horse too!)

BoofyBoo · 24/02/2023 08:39

Charlotte Mills does lovely flats for weddings though they’re not cheap.

OMallytheAlleyCat · 24/02/2023 08:43

I wore flats on my wedding day and while I don't regret it (I was on my feet all day, heels would have killed me) I do wish I had worn heels just for the pictures/ walking down the aisle

I look...wrong in the pics. My dress is bunching at the bottom, my posture is all off. I wish I'd have donned a pair of heeled boots just for that 15 minutes of photographer pics and maybe walking down the aisle as well.

Congratulations btw!

If your dress was bunching then it was the wrong length.

OP, whatever shoes you choose, make sure you get them early enough that you can wear them to your dress fittings.

Jaxinthebox · 24/02/2023 08:52

Hi @MKCH - recently got married and couldnt wear heels. I chose the Paradox Zarina shoes/trainers and they were so comfy and everyone commented on how lovely they were and how sensible I was to be comfortable.

I walked, danced, and generally moved around all day with no sore feet!

IAmMam · 24/02/2023 08:57

I think I’d go for a strappy flat sandal type
