Flat wedding shoes / sandals

I am RUBBISH with this sort of thing.

This is my dress (pics).

I can't do heels, not even wedges. I'd try and then within 15 mins I'd be cursing myself for thinking it was ok and changing into flip flops.
On which note, flip flops would be the footwear of choice but I can't risk one of them flipping or flopping off as I'm walking down the aisle.

I've found these which I think might work

But apart from that, any ideas? I don't think gladiator sandals go, which would be second choice after Havaianas. I'm thinking gold or ivory colour.

For reference, I'm a size 16 and definitely cart horse rather than race horse, so dainty really isn't my style...!!

I think your dress is beautiful!
I love the pumps. But also totally agree to consider posture for photos. Flats just don’t do the same for you in a dress like that. Maybe a proper barefoot style sandal? If it’s more delicate on your foot, it will mean you walk a bit differently.
I love something like these

Dune and Moda in Pelle do lots of nice ones. They strap means no slipping, just be careful no rough edges to catch on the bottom of the dress.

the pulps you chose are beautiful. Are they comfortable? Sometimes I find flats as bad for rubbing etc.

so exciting, a lovely problem to have and really do love the dress!

I wore these - www.katespade.co.uk/en-gb/shoes/trista-sneakers/K7204.html?dwcolor=CREAM.#start=1&page=1

Very comfortable and cute - but not everyone wants trainers as their wedding shoes!

I wore some low heels for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast, but then once that was over I changed in to those same Kate Spade sneakers. I also had a pair of sparkly flip flops if I found even the trainers uncomfortable, but they were amazing - my feet didn't hurt at all at the end of the day, which given the state of my stupid wide feet, bunions and hard skin, is a bloody miracle!

No-one even knew what I was wearing on my feet as they weren't visible under the skirt anyway. Mind you, the sneakers were so fabulous I made sure I showed everyone!

I haven't got any pictures but I wore flat gold metallic strappy sandals from M&S. Heels would have killed me and also DH is only slightly taller than me so if I'd worn heels I would have been looking down on him.

My dress was sort of Boho so they didn't look out of place when you did see them. I wear them for work in the summer now, and they didn't cost the earth so were practical on so many levels.

I did want to wear like converse/sneakers but in the end I chickened out at the prospect of my Grandma frowning at me for wearing trainers on my wedding day!

As a guest at a wedding last year I wore these.

White leather converse

They were so comfy and looked great, with the added bonus that they go with anything, so I’ll definitely wear them again.

I'm totally flat footed and can't wear heels /not comfy

I wore white ballet pumps - about £10

My husband bought me a pair of nude Louboutin shoes to get married in, I made it through the service & spent the rest of the day in a pair of gold Primark flip flops! 🤣

Love it!
I went to love lemonade for my wedding sandals, really good, loved them, cheaper and sparklier! They do flats, sandals, all kinds

I absolutely can't walk in any type of heel so wore these but in a normal width fitting for my wedding then white sliders at night. I was surprised that they weren't that uncomfortable

They're lovely @MKCH Go for it. Have a good time. Smile

NanooCov · 24/02/2023 17:34

They look lovely. I had a floor length dress and no one actually saw my feet but I wore blue silk ballet flats. Loved them.

Winter41 · 24/02/2023 17:38

Saltwater sandals are comfy and they come in white and silver. I wore pretty flat sandals for my wedding years ago. They were from Clarks.

You might have some luck searching among bridesmaids shoes.
They can go up to size 5 (not sure about 6+?), and are usually low or flat. They can be cream / ivory and satin-effect or otherwise very suitably wedding-ish.

I live in fitflop flats!
the sliver ballet shoes are half price at the moment!
more comfy than trainers.
(size16 cart horse too!)

Where are they half price? Tell all!

Charlotte Mills does lovely flats for weddings though they’re not cheap.

These were so comfy on my wedding day and I still wear them now, 5 years later.

Sotired22 · 24/02/2023 20:03

I like these….

www.laceandfavour.com/bohemian-beauty/rachel-simpson-fern-blush-ivory-suede-two-part-flat-sandals/

I had Rachel Simpson shoes for my wedding (not flat ones but low heel) and they were so comfy. Have a look at all the Rachel Simpson ones as they are all gorgeous, there is a range of kitten heel shoes as well if you think you could maybe cope with that for the ceremony / photos then change into sparkly trainers or converse later?
