Skinny jeans

I'm 49, size 10 and I think 🤔 reasonably fashionable but certainly not a trend setter! I like my skinny jeans either with boots, trainers or in the better weather turned up at ankle with sandals. However, my 17 year old niece has "advised" me that they are no longer fashionable, however she wasn't forthcoming in telling me what is 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️. So, what is the new style of jeans or are you all still rocking skinnies?! Px

I love a good high quality pair of black or grey skinny jeans. Teenagers may prefer their wide leg or barrel but being super trendy doesn't always equal looking fab and classy. Top jeans brands still sell skinny models for a reason. Go for it! If you have great legs to show off (most of us do regardless of size!) then even more so. They look great on any shape really!

I think the current look of high waisted mom or wide legged jeans only really work if you’re a skinny 17 year old with a midriff to die for. I do have some that I wear for comfort around the house, or maybe with a T-shirt and flip flops in the summer, but I wouldn’t wear them on a night out. I’m sticking to skinny/ straight leg jeans! The kids can keep bootlegs, I did all that in the 90s and I can’t go back…

I was just looking this up earlier and saw patchwork, cargo, ombré and split leg jeans are in this year.

Blue skinnies don't feel right to me at the moment. I have some girlfriend jeans, they are nicely fitted around the hips and bum but looser in the legs and ankle length with a turn up.

I wear skinnies occasionally but only black and only with long boots and a long (knee length +) cardi or coat. That helps disguise parsnipness :)

I love jeans and I think this is a great time for trying on new things because jeans come in such a big variety of styles and shapes. OP, I would boldly go and try a few different styles on. Personally, I like going to the Levi's shop because they just bring you tons of stuff to try on and are generally really patient even if you buy nothing!
