You mean the Wolseley?

SocksAndTheCity · 18/02/2023 07:38

The only thing I can find for Worsley is a village (and Lucy Worsley)? Assuming it's a restaurant somewhere, are you going for lunch or dinner?

MokaEfti · 18/02/2023 07:39

PS you're a beaut wherever you're going 😊

Ah, I didn't think of that! The last time I was in there I was in my pyjamas so I'm no help at all, but I think the occasion is key here rather than the venue anyway, since it'll likely be full of tourists Smile

MokaEfti · 18/02/2023 07:42

You mean the one in Piccadilly ?
If so I wore a dress last time I went there, but that's because I'm a dress fan no other reason. The outfit you describe sounds good! You can elevate anything with accessories remember.

I envy you the Italian !

Slowgrowingelm · 18/02/2023 07:50

Smart is definitely good for the Wolseley, lots of good bars nearby (the Donovan in Browns Hotel for instance). I would personally wear a top that was a bit more like the top of the dress you’re wearing in the photo, if you’re wearing a trouser suit. Something that says ‘date’ a little more than a tee, even if it’s a silk/tailored tee. But I like to dress up for dates. There will be people in smart casual (good quality, tailored) and others dressed to the nines, particularly if it’s a Wednesday night onwards.

Restlessinthenorth · 18/02/2023 07:53

No advice on what to wear, but coming on to say you look absolutely amazing on that hoot. You are going to look INCREDIBLE in whatever you chose. You are the prize here!

Let us know how it goes?

Mumsanetta · 18/02/2023 08:11

Also think a t-shirt might be too casual, maybe a silky top with scoop neckline similar in style to the top you’re wearing in your top? Doesn’t matter though because you’re a stunner! Enjoy your date!

Beespeciallyforme · 18/02/2023 09:24

Going against the grain here, a T shirt (white not navy) will be better than a more formal top. You’re wearing a trouser suit so you don’t want to look like you’re at a business meeting. You’re beautiful to pull it off. Do you have mules or loafers instead of pumps?

Northlights22 · 18/02/2023 11:39

Just to echo that you are absolutely beautiful!

You were in a restaurant in Picadilly in your pyjamas?

The OP's own choice is perfectly fine for The Wolseley.

WinterFoxes · 18/02/2023 11:46

You're very pretty. I'd wear a dress and heels if I was havung a first date with a suave Italian at the Wolesley (can never spell that bloody place.)

SocksAndTheCity · 18/02/2023 13:23

NatashaDancing · 18/02/2023 11:42

Indeed I was - it was early Sunday morning, I had been at an all night event nearby and wanted a decent breakfast before I went home. I fancied some kedgeree and a couple of pastries, so The Wolseley was far and away the best choice.

BriannaBurlesque · 18/02/2023 15:02

You're rather lovely, OP!

Maybe also add a silk scarf in a flattering shade to enhance your pretty eyes?

Enjoy the date, whatever you end up choosing to wear.
Buona fortuna!

JaneJeffer · 18/02/2023 15:07

You don't need any help!

Ofbollocks · 18/02/2023 15:20

Good idea with the silk scarf in a colour to show off your eyes. But, I honestly don't think he's going to notice what you wear. You'll look beautiful. Ps. Go for comfort with shoes, every time.

Parsley1234 · 18/02/2023 17:50

Thanks you lot of vipers after a terrible three years of bad fortune followed by more bad fortune I’m not expecting anything other than a lovely lunch and a trot around town but he did ask was I coming up by train and he wd meet me. God in fairness I haven’t been treated like a lady in so long it’s a nice feeling.

I don’t quite understand why you’ve posted a photo of yourself on a forum where posters are anonymous?

Sorry, I find it really confusing!

Parsley1234 · 18/02/2023 18:37

@CrkdLttrCrkdLttr do you have to be anonymous? Only if you choose to I needed advice and I got some great help pls feel free to scroll on 🙏

Lovely OP makes an informed decision to post a picture of herself. Not sure what you're confused about??

Noshowlomo · 18/02/2023 18:48

Well you’re a babe 😍

LadyOfTheCanyon · 18/02/2023 18:54

Swit swoo OP you look gorgeous. What you’ve described sounds great, if perhaps a touch too formal and business meeting-y. Maybe some less business type colours, even if just a scarf at the throat?

SignOnTheWindow · 18/02/2023 19:03

@Parsley1234 sounds lovely, just make sure the outfit doesn't hide that hourglass figure and teeny tiny waist. Tbh, if that's really you in the photo, you could wear a bin bag and still look stunning.

GettingStuffed · 18/02/2023 19:09

I love the dress you're wearing, upgrade your accessories and youl be good to go
