CC cream recommendations please!

I'm pale, early 40's and have stuck to the same Bourjois CC cream for the last few years as it worked well for me. I find foundation too heavy and tinted moisturisers aren't enough coverage. I wasted ££ recently on the Clinique tinted moisturiser after the guy at the counter really sold it to me. It's too oily for my t-zone though and not enough coverage.

Bourjois discontinued the CC cream I loved but managed to buy through Amazon and EBay for a while, now I can't find it from anywhere trusted online, one place was selling it for £1000 😂
Can anyone recommend a good CC cream (preferably one I can get a colour match to online and not have to go into a store, as the nearest is 30 min drive away)? Or something similar to the Bourjois one - it was this one:

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream Colour Correcting 31 Ivory, 3ml, 357310 amzn.eu/d/hiktRNx

This is what I still use. I did a bulk buy so still have one left. I can't believe they have stopped it completely 😭

ChinoiserieNerd · 17/02/2023 21:02

I started a thread on this exact topic in December where a poster recommended this: www.notino.co.uk/bourjois/healthy-mix-lightweight-foundation-with-moisturizing-effect/p-16103298/?gclid=CjwKCAiAs8acBhA1EiwAgRFdw9LB5CbDgWkmvVj_ZPhdnGkuet09m_yFNVSdcYHhDOLPQ8_s9GITMRoCa_EQAvD_BwE

I haven't ordered it yet as I ended up finding another two tubes of the Bourjois CC Cream at the back of my make-up drawer, but will definitely try it once those are finished.

If you can stretch the budget, Chanel’s is wonderful, the best I had Chanel CC Cream

JennyTheDonkey · 17/02/2023 21:53

I really like the IT Cosmetics one, for a cc cream it's got quite thick coverage and stays on my face for most of the day. They do a good range of colours too. SpaceNK, Boots and JL do it if you're looking to try. They also do small tubes so good for trying it for a while (or the gym bag!).

TheVelvetOnion · 17/02/2023 22:03

I love IT cosmetics too. I've used it for a couple of years now and only had to purchase a few tubes in that time. I only need a little, maybe half a pump and that does me perfectly. Love it!

elaeocarpus · 18/02/2023 06:40

Also former Bourjois user, pale and in 40s

Ive started using Erborian on the basis of recommendations here- i really like it- more than Bourjois in fact. I've found it on Amazon

JiffLemon · 18/02/2023 06:44

Did you try the Clinique CC cream, or a different product from there? I find their CC cream great, especially if worn over their primer. I'm pale too and shade light is perfect! Also if you contact their customer service they are pretty good with refunds if a product has been recommended for you but doesn't work!

Dogsgottabone · 18/02/2023 07:00

Erborian in 'clair'

I am English rose pale and this is perfect for me.

It comes out of the tube white and then changes colour on your face.

Dogsgottabone · 18/02/2023 07:01

I go through a tube every 6 weeks as I apply it like moisturiser. You could probably go longer if you have better skin than me.

IWonderWhyIBother · 18/02/2023 07:10

I really like IT cosmetics too.you don’t need to use much at all. I accidentally bought too dark and so I bought a lighter shade and mix them which is perfect.

kirkandpetal · 18/02/2023 07:57

I was a Bourjois CC devotee too but I tried a sample of Erborian CC cream and I have to say, it's miles better than Bourjois and is some sort of voodoo magic how it works. It comes out white but just adapts to your skin tone and blurs away imperfections and evens out skin tone. I went on. to buy the full size. You don't need a lot so a 45ml tube will last a decent length of time.

I also just bought their BB cream which is slightly denser but still has this magic ability to blur and make my 50+ skin look plump and dewy. It doesn't sit in wrinkles or creases and you again don't need a lot. I wore it for this first time this week because I was working in the office that day and then going out for dinner. The coverage lasted all day and still looked as good at 9pm as it did at 9am.

I use a discount code KATE25 (or KATE20 - can't remember which) to get 25 or 20% off or if you like, if you pM me I can give you a referral code which gives you £10 off a £40 spend.

Their customer service so far has been excellent, you always get 3 freebie samples and a couple of times I've been sent a fluffy panda night eye mask (kids snaffled them!). They send really quick too.

yoshiblue · 18/02/2023 08:33

Agree, I love the Clinique Cc cream and get compliments when I wear it. Was it that you were sold or another product?

hellololabells2019 · 18/02/2023 08:50

@kirkandpetal I always get confused with CC and BB creams. Which one has more coverage?!

I second Erborian. Excellent coverage and only 4 shades but easy to select one that suits you.

Mookie81 · 18/02/2023 08:53

Ok, should have RTFT. I 4th Erborian! 😊

The BB has more coverage but it's not like foundation, your skin can still breathe! It comes out the tube as the colour as opposed to the CC cream which is white and magically tones to your skin (voodoo!!)

The Erborian site is really good actually, it tells you the difference and then there are some diff types of Cc (and BB) for spefux concerns like redness etc. I also found the reviews really helpful, wools commenting who already had the CC and then comparing to the BB cream, or vice versa.

kirkandpetal · 18/02/2023 09:44

Eek
Spefux = specific
Wools = people

HollyHocks13 · 18/02/2023 09:47

Erborian is amazing stuff, it's like magic!

doadeer · 18/02/2023 10:00

Erborian is one of my hero products. Use it every day and totally replaced foundation

I agree. Wouldn't touch foundation with a barge pole now. Its transformed my confidence applying makeup as you can't really go wrong.

(That and liquid blush - wish I'd discovered that years ago!)

MissMarplesbag · 18/02/2023 10:09

You can buy Bourgeois from superdrugs now. I use the IT cosmetics CC cream and mix a bit with my moisturiser and Maybelline illuminating primer. Gives perfect coverage for the daytime and I apply all the above on separately for an evening look.

Celledora · 18/02/2023 10:53

I’ve just bought Eborian BB cream thanks to everyone’s recommendations. Been using Dior skin glow (or whatever its various incarnations are called) for around 15 years and really want to ditch foundation. Fingers crossed!

Cloud Paint by Glossier is a great liquid blush 😊

doadeer · 18/02/2023 22:09

Just a note I'm not keen on the Erborian bb cream it's too thick for me but the cc cream is magic. It's on my constant repurchase list.

kirkandpetal · 18/02/2023 22:17

@Mookie81 ha ha, that's the one I discovered and I have about 5 tubes of various colours. Love them!!
