I'm pale, early 40's and have stuck to the same Bourjois CC cream for the last few years as it worked well for me. I find foundation too heavy and tinted moisturisers aren't enough coverage. I wasted ££ recently on the Clinique tinted moisturiser after the guy at the counter really sold it to me. It's too oily for my t-zone though and not enough coverage.

Bourjois discontinued the CC cream I loved but managed to buy through Amazon and EBay for a while, now I can't find it from anywhere trusted online, one place was selling it for £1000 😂
Can anyone recommend a good CC cream (preferably one I can get a colour match to online and not have to go into a store, as the nearest is 30 min drive away)? Or something similar to the Bourjois one - it was this one:

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream Colour Correcting 31 Ivory, 3ml, 357310 amzn.eu/d/hiktRNx

@Mookie81 ha ha, that's the one I discovered and I have about 5 tubes of various colours. Love them!!

Great minds and all that! 😉

I have the La Roche Posay Rosaliac one and it's very good. I've tried a few different BB and CC creams over the years and this has the nicest texture. It's a pump bottle too so not messy.

@ChinoiserieNerd Thanks for the link, its definitely worth a try, hopefully the ingredients or however they make their bases will make the foundation similar! I could thin it out with the Clinique tinted moisturiser I bought if the foundation's too thick I guess?!

Distracted by dd! Ok I think I'll have to go for trying the Erborian first with so many recommendations! Definitely want to try the It cc cream too at some point. Thanks everyone Smile

Did you try the Clinique CC cream, or a different product from there? I find their CC cream great, especially if worn over their primer. I'm pale too and shade light is perfect! Also if you contact their customer service they are pretty good with refunds if a product has been recommended for you but doesn't work!

Yes I did try it but the sales guy put me off tbh, he said it felt quite sticky and almost like tacky glue when it was dried on!

Came to recommend erborian but I see I’m not the first!

I've just ordered the Bourjois one from the link and will report back!

After all the praise on this thread for the Erborian CC Cream I also bought that one but don't think it works for me. It does give my skin a lovely glow, but even the lightest shade is slightly too dark and definitely too orange for me (while the Bourjois CC in 'Ivory' is a perfect match). The texture is nice and light but the scent bothers me (can smell it for hours and I don't normally have a particularly sensitive nose). I also prefer the coverage of the Bourjois CC cream which easily deals with a few little blemishes I currently have on my chin, while these remail quite visible with the Erborian. I'll give it another chance in the summer when I tend to have better skin and a bit of a tan, but for now, it sadly won't be able to replace the Bourjois CC cream.

elaeocarpus · 24/02/2023 09:23

@ChinoiserieNerd try the erborian BB or SUperBB cream if you want more coverage than the CC

ChinoiserieNerd · 24/02/2023 10:21

Thank you, @elaeocarpus , if the new Bourjois foundation I've ordered doesn't work out, I may have a look at the Erborian BB creams. I suspect I'll run into the same colour issue (too dark, too orange), though, and it will probably be even more noticeable with better coverage. I'm quite pale but with yellow undertones and usually need brands that either lean 'yellow' anyways (like Bourjois or Nars) or offer a really good range of shades to find a decent colour match.

Itsonlyagame · 24/02/2023 10:30

Came to say Erborian but have been beaten to it by about a hundred people. I got a free sample and immediately purchased following first use. I am very pale and have freckles and this stuff is like magic. Love it!

herbaceous · 24/02/2023 11:00

I can thoroughly recommend a L'Oréal BB cream, called c'est magique, or something similarly awful.

Comes out white, but adapts to my skin - so I can just hung it on quickly with no faffing with brushes or anything - and adapts to my aged mottled skin to make me look marginally less haggard.

In Boots and elsewhere! Much cheaper than Eborian.

StarsSand · 24/02/2023 11:25

Erborian - is there only two shades? How do you know if it will suit you?

Yes only two shades, it adapts to your skintone. I got a free sample but they don't do them all the time.

I'm sorry, but how would a product actually 'adapt to your skintone'? Nice marketing claim, but I just don't see how this is supposed to work and would love an explanation. I've seen lots of people repeating the claim and talking about 'intelligent pigments', but that's not really a thing, is it? If such a technology did exist, it would be widely used for things like wall or car paint, but it isn't and getting an exact colour match for an existing paint job can be quite challenging.

Maybe I'm the odd one out, but I had 'orange face floating above a pale neck' syndrome with the Erborian CC cream and while I am quite fair it's not like I'm freakishly pale.

I don't agree with him at all! It is probably the base I use most frequently, I really like it. Maybe he was applying it wrongly!

tobee · 24/02/2023 21:59

Hmm I'm not sure what I'm expecting from Erborian cc cream? I got some and it doesn't seem to make much difference? I have the Clair one. What am I missing?

WhereAreWeNow · 25/02/2023 07:27

I have bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix CC cream in France so you could ask anyone you know who's going to France to bring you some back. I've also bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation at superdrug recently and it's not much heavier than the CC cream. You could mix it with a bit of your moisturiser for a lighter look. I know it's not the same as the 123 one (I liked the 123 foundation a lot) but it's similar.
I also quite like the Erborian BB cream. The CC cream is the one that is meant to adapt to your colour. The BB is a nice lightweight bit of coverage and spf. The Super BB is fuller coverage, more like foundation.

Yes only two shades, it adapts to your skintone. I got a free sample but they don't do them all the time.

3 shades- Clair, Dore, Caramel and the CC water also comes in Chocolat, the darkest shade.

Ivyy · 02/04/2023 20:41

@ChinoiserieNerd Just wondered if you'd tried the Bourjois foundation yet as an alternative? I managed to get another tube of the Bourjois cc cream from eBay but paid £20 for it! Once that's gone I HAVE to move on to something new!

I have the Erborian CC cream red correct, which starts green and somehow blends in and turns a beige that blends into my own (very pale) skin colour. It makes any redness disappear. I was sceptical but after trying it am a massive convert. I’ve just ordered the BB cream, with the idea of wearing it on top of the CC cream for days when I need more coverage.

Hey! I totally get your struggle with finding the right CC cream. Have you heard of Perbelle’s CC cream? It’s amazing for dry skin, helps reduce redness, and even has SPF 43, so it gives you sun protection too! It’s not too heavy like foundation, but still provides good coverage. I’ve been using it, and it doesn’t make me oily either, which is great for combo skin. You can easily order it online and don’t need to go in-store to find your shade. Might be worth a try if you're looking for something new!
