It’s taken me a few days but I’ve finally worked out why a lot of the outfits reminded me of something... As a student there was an event where people had to spend £10 or less in a charity shop and basically find the most bizarre-looking, random outfits. The Brit awards this year remind me of that night out.

I cannot WAIT for Haute le Mode on YouTube to review these outfits. He displeasure at The Grammy’s is going to be eclipsed by this collection of horrors.

I actually rather like Sam Smith’s outfit. At least is fits! He obviously doesn’t give a damn that his body is not what you would typically pour into latex and the bulbousy bits are rather amazing.

Why do so many of this horrible outfits not fit? <cries> So much gaping wrinkled fabric on show with horrible linings or no linings. Oh it’s all so sad.

Why do they all look so miserable? (Aside from their outfits). People used to smile on the red carpet.

The first shot of Billie Piper for example, she looks so strange and vacant. DH said maybe she’d been caught unawares, but she’s a professional on the red carpet, so surely it’s a deliberate pose? It’s so unattractive.

I know he is very popular but why does Harry Styles portray hisself as gay. I mean his silver onesie and now this black womans trouser suit with the big black flower. I thought Mick Jaggers daughter looked cute though. Oh and put your preggy bellys away your not the first women to have babies.

There's a small handful that look nice, but otherwise the majority look god damn awful.

The Brits used to be cool. It's like a parody these days.

Sorry @AngeloMysterioso your rival Jodie Turner-Smith looked amazing! I love that vintage 70s look. She looked like she was about to leave for a bop at Studio 54 with Bianca Jagger. Not many women could carry off that look.

No idea if he is gay or not as I don't follow any celebrity news but I find in quite refreshing. In this weird age when gender stereotypes are so pinned down, I think it's great to see a man embracing a more "feminine" style without going down the whole trans/non binery boring route. Until recently gender stereotypes were being stamped all over. Now they are being entrenched and moving backwards. It's sad really.

Laughing so much at this thread. Have heard of almost none of them, know nothing about their music, have no style and less beauty, but I'm a sucker for a red carpet thread!

Sam Smith looks like an inflatable sofa some clever clogs thought would be a good idea to take to the beach. By the end of the day, you know it will look grubby and deflated, and the person who brought it won't feel quite so clever anymore and won't be arsed taking it home, abandoning it on the sand to be shat on by seagulls.

I wonder what they all paid for those awful tacky outfits. Definitely more money than sense or taste.

Why on earth do most of the women feel they have to show most of their body off? They could look so good but choose to look tacky, ridiculous and desperate for attention.

Amelia (or is it Amanda) stood out a mile and looked fantastic. Just about all the others looked awful. Even Maya's top was too tight and made her boobs look squashed.
