Apologies for the Daily Fail link but there are too many utter horror shows for me to copy and paste individually…

If people (well it's almost always women) wear clothes that show so much of their body then they can expect comments.

Jesus. What decade are we in? ‘She’s asking for it, wearing that.’

If other women’s breasts offend you so much, avert your eyes. I find this sort of attitude sad.

I certainly never said anything along the lines of "she's asking for it".

We may all be entitled to wear what we like but just why feel the need to have everything on show? Tacky and sad.

So many posters agreeing that the woman who looked the best was the one in the VW dress. She didn't see the need to be half naked and looked lovely, unlike most of the others.

‘If she shows so much of her body, then she can expect comments’ is very much along the lines of ‘if she shows so much of her body, she’s asking for said comments’. It’s barely even paraphrasing.

Nobody is required to look the MN version (or any version) of lovely. It’s not something women are required to aim for when they get dressed. If anyone ‘feels the need to have their body on show’ that’s entirely their business. Again, if you don’t like it, avert your eyes. They do not exist to please you.

I find your attitude tacky and sad.

Well anyone who thinks dressing like that is ok is definitely tacky and sad.

No doubt the day will come when they just turn up naked. May as well as some of them are pretty close now.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/02/2023 20:15

I quite liked the boobs. At least they looked like boobs which I find preferable to the half-grapefruit looking implants that used to be fashionable.

WiIson · 13/02/2023 20:36

don’t think calling someone a fucking twat or insulting their breasts is just an opinion. Commenting on the clothes is fine. Saying they look silly is fine. Insulting their bodies is just unpleasant and unnecessary.

I don't have a problem with it. If people are going to let it all hang out then they may get negative feedback on what's hanging out.

As for the person who was called a fucking twat. Well it's not an unreasonable observation based on recent behaviour.

i am all for wear what you want. But. A lot of those outfits just looked awful. Bad fabric choices, bad fabric, badly made, and they didn't fit.

There were a lot of outfits digging in the boobs where they shouldn't have been. Etc etc.
TBH a lot of those outfits looked like something from the transformation challenge round of the Sewing Bee.

Dressing however you want is ok. The fact that you think people should be restricted to what you consider appropriate is tacky and sad.

People can wear what they want though.

They may be judged on it however...

And many of us will judge posters who chose to critique the size and shape of a woman's breasts. Those posts really were vile. They weren't poking fun at someone's outfit. They were critiquing someone's breasts. Needless, uncalled for and says a lot about someone's character.

CuriousSIL · 14/02/2023 06:55

Anyone objecting to the fucking twat pronouns, do you know why there was no best female artist category this year, and consequently no women even included in the best artist category?

I'll give you a clue. Weird giant inflatable rubber suit. And no, I don't care about body shape.

Calling for gender free categories then moaning about how they are no longer inclusive enough when, surprise surprise, the change only benefitted men, is really crap.

thehorsehasnowbolted · 14/02/2023 07:10

😝It's truly a horror show. What's wrong with these people? And the men!!!

AnyFucker · 14/02/2023 07:57

I am hoping Daisy May Cooper was taking the piss out of the recent “trend” for folk to dress like they just came from their tacky bdsm dungeon

I'm pretty sure she was. She often wears piss-taking outfits to this kind of event.

AnyFucker · 14/02/2023 10:24

Good. Faith restored. 🙏

Sam Smith looks like Hitler's gimp.

How is this his fault, exactly? How is he why this happened?

He didn’t change the categories. He has no power to do so.

He doesn’t control the nominations process, so had no say over who was nominated.

Fairislefandango · 14/02/2023 14:34

Well no, but apparently in 2021 he was very vocal about wanting itto be gender neutral, and now he's lamenting what for many was the unsurprising result of that change.

ArcaneWireless · 14/02/2023 14:43

He did indeed call for it. And some businesses, organisations, committees absolutely fall over themselves to be inclusive for fear of being called out for not listening. They fail to realise that their actions actually exclude rather than include.

Sometimes when wheels move it is hard to get them to stop.

More so when it isn’t given full and proper consideration before the wheels are set in motion.

Technically this isn’t SS’s fault.

But he is not blameless with regards to the outcome.

People have commented stating he’s why it happened, though. That’s clearly madness. Maybe he wanted it, but the organisation of the Brits isn’t his responsibility or within his powers. Nor is the nomination process.

It isn’t his fault at all. He can call for whatever he wants. Sam Smith is a mid-tier pop star. He hasn’t even won a Brit in a few years. The Brits didn't change their categories on his say so and it’s really not his job to give full and proper consideration to their actions.

Additionally, the fusing of categories and the fact that no women were nominated are two separate issues. As Sam Smith doesn’t control the nominations, that’s not his fault either.

ArcaneWireless · 14/02/2023 15:40

Read what you’ve quoted again and tell me where I said he was responsible for the actions of others and then tell me where I said it was his fault? After that you can tell me where I said it was his fault no women weee nominated.

I’ll wait.
