What do you consider the ideal weight for a lady based on her height?

I am 5'5 = 165cm and would like to weight 65kg..

I am now around 55kg(without being pregnant) nice and slim

It depends completely on her frame and how/where she carries the weight and also how toned she is.

There is no 'ideal' weight, as we're all so individual.

NewNovember · 04/02/2023 23:56

Don't have the slightest idea what kg are. Can you rephrase using pounds.

You are absolutely right! I am just confused with people commenting on my weight loss

And feet and inches too!

55kg = 121pounds and 65kg = 143pounds

BMI 21 is considered most attractive by numerous studies.

Will depend upon height and frame.

My perfect weight is 10 stone. 5'9 and small frame. Currently 7 pounds over this.

I think it also depends on the culture. Some cultures consider curves beautiful

totally depends on a person's boney frame and facial structure.
depends on musculature as well.
i certainly wouldn't be picking or judging based on a number.
as a retired nurse i think people with good musculature and enough weight to support a few health issues is ideal (not so emaciated that 1/2 days of nausea or a few hours hike has them looking like a pow).

I don't either but I Googled.

Seriously? Who's going to look like a prisoner of war after hiking for a few hours?

That's both ridiculous and offensive.

Bold of you to presume I don't have curves.

My measurements are roughly 39-28-37. Perfect hourglass.
But a bit too bulky for my liking. Shave an inch off of each and I'd still be curvy. And slim.

"Ideal" in terms of attractiveness or health?

42 what?

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/02/2023 00:22

With kindness OP it isn’t the 1950s

Your ideal weight will depend on your build as well as your height, how much muscle you have and whether it suits you psychologically and physically to be slightly higher or lower. Of course you don’t want to be dramatically over or underweight but within normal bounds there is a fair amount of variety.

greenspaces4peace · 05/02/2023 00:26

why is it old school to say "it depends" vs some random number?
basing an ideal weight on a number sounds both psychologically and physically unhealthy.

Your reply was "both".

But one doesn't necessarily equate to the other.

So what are you actually asking?

Zamummy · 05/02/2023 00:27

So hard to start anything in peace here. Scared sometimes to ask anything

But surely you must know there's no definitive answer to "What's the ideal weight for a woman?"

Squishedstormtrooper · 05/02/2023 00:30

Whatever weight she feels comfortable.

im 5 ft 7 and exercise loads. 11 stone is my ideal weight. I’m 5lbs over at the minute and feeling a bit squishy.
