What do you consider the ideal weight for a lady based on her height?

I am 5'5 = 165cm and would like to weight 65kg..

I am now around 55kg(without being pregnant) nice and slim

121 lb exactly.
All of us.
Whether 5'1 or 6'3
Even when pregnant.
From birth to grave.
Morning til night.
121 lb.

I'm being silly. But you know that.

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/02/2023 00:32

Well you kicked off with ‘ideal weight for ladies’ and now we have someone giving her ‘hourglass figure measurements’ TBH by 2Am someone will be taking about their ‘little procedure’ to have a rib removed to maintain their hand-spun waist, and by dawn someone will be on about being ‘honeymoon fresh’. I have a good mind to report you OP I really have.

greenspaces4peace · 05/02/2023 00:34

being healthy is more important than attractive.
so don't focus on a number on the scale or app or social media.

Right! Health before anything

61kg

greenspaces4peace · 05/02/2023 00:40

@Zamummy i can't tell if your being facetious but in the long run healthy is the ideal.

humans need a certain amount of body fat for their health and even safety (when post menopausal).
being underweight when younger (food restriction) is a major cause of osteoporosis and morbidity in later life.

Zamummy · 05/02/2023 00:41

I just had enough of people saying how good I looked when I had curves. I am very skinny now and look like a teenager. It doesn't really matter to me that much. However, I think my husband prefers curves

Don't have the slightest idea what kg are. Can you rephrase using pounds.

Kilogrammes are the standard (SI) unit for measuring mass, have you really never heard of them? I switched to metric years ago and I'm in my 50's. Imperial units are so last century!

You want to be 65. You are currently 55 and 'nice and slim'. You sound like you like being 55 but you want to be 65. This is confusing

Ruffpuff · 05/02/2023 00:44

I’m 161 cm and 7st 7lb now. Was 7st 2lb for many months before now. Whenever I’ve gone through severe depression I’ve been 6st 8lb. I don’t know how anyone has any control over their weight. When I want to be bigger, I’m small. When I want to be small I’m bigger. I’m never happy because there are downsides to both. My weight seems to be related to mood, and whatever my appetite is at the time. There is no ideal weight. Given my shape, I will always be ‘petite’ but because of my bone structure there will never be any curves. I hate it. I want some curves.

greenspaces4peace · 05/02/2023 00:46

so you were 65kg and people complimented you.
now are 55kg (you say built like a teen (what is your age).
you say it doesn't matter but it clearly must if you are posting about it.
if at beyond teen years you are built like a teen i would say you have slipped into an unhealthy zone.

CarPoor · 05/02/2023 00:46

Ideal for what? Marathon running? Health? Strength? Being attractive to men?

There's no perfect weight. Everyone's body is different, everyone's life is different. Your weight is so irrelevant to how valuable and enjoyable your life is.

Zamummy · 05/02/2023 00:51

I am just very confused at the moment. When I met my husband I was 65kg and lost weight during pregnancy. He said that I still look beautiful. But, he cheated with curvy women. I am not someone who is preoccupied with looks or obsessed with weight. I don't like the idea of looking a certain way for a man..

Curvy 'women'? How many women OP? You do realise your weight isn't the issue right?

Growing a tougher skin is the only way forward.

You can't change how other people act or what they say.

You can only change how you deal with it.

ironingboredrefusal · 05/02/2023 00:57

The ideal weight for a woman is the weight that woman is happy with. Who gives a shit about weight anyway? Who weighs themselves anymore? Madness. Just eat healthy food, some non healthy food, do some exercise, dont do exercise, and just be happy. Depressing that women still weigh themselves like it matters.

greenspaces4peace · 05/02/2023 00:59

@Zamummy are you still with this sad excuse of a man?

Huh? There's absolutely nothing wrong with weighing yourself if that's part of how you like to manage your weight.

Equally if it's not part of how you like to manage your weight, there's nothing wrong with not weighing yourself either.

Unfortunately, yes. I haven't been going into details with the cheatings. Because I am so scared of being roasted here.

OP posts:
BadNomad · 05/02/2023 01:03

He didn't cheat with them because they are curvy.

greenspaces4peace · 05/02/2023 01:05

okay i would say the cheating with curvy women and you loosing weight are related both stress AND not wanting to appeal to him (and you shouldn't be appealing to him you should be making plans to leave him).
once your marital issues are settled (unmarried but happy) your weight will stabilize there's no rush in getting to your healthy weight.

If I put the whole story here, people might think I am trolling. I might have stayed with him because I want my kids to have the same father. Is that wrong?
