What do you consider the ideal weight for a lady based on her height?

I am 5'5 = 165cm and would like to weight 65kg..

I am now around 55kg(without being pregnant) nice and slim

OP have you considered starting a new post in the relationships board? There's good support on that board for women in difficult relationships.

This doesn't seem to be a conversation about weight.

Southstand · 05/02/2023 08:12

6'2" man = 183lbs. Lose this amount.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 05/02/2023 08:21

The ideal weight for me is the one I feel healthiest and happiest at.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 05/02/2023 08:25

Well, if someone says 'you're worth your weight in gold' the heavier the better (if they are going to pay you on that basis)!

WinnieFosterReads · 05/02/2023 00:21

Is the answer 42?

Winnie: I luffs you. 💕 💕 See, this is why MN needs a 'like' button.

OP: LTB.

A woman's ideal weight is any weight for aesthetic purposes.
Medically I think we can tell if we listen to our bodies.

JustAnotherManicNameChange · 05/02/2023 09:13

Where I'm from the ideal weight for a woman is 10 kgs less than what your height is (over 100 cm).

So at 165 cm you should be 55 kgs. Never managed that.Grin

Dibbydoos · 05/02/2023 09:21

I'm overweight - knackered knee stopped me running 4 years ago.

I know I need to lose weight but right now, I'm not motivated. I just don't want male attention following my DHs death (I know tgat was 6 years ago but still not ready to face thinking about another partner).

So I'm at my ideal weight right now!

watsthecraic · 05/02/2023 09:23

Ideal in what way? To what standard? Judged by who?

My ideal weight is the weight I am right now because I'm alive.

Hth.

Fizbosshoes · 05/02/2023 09:25

My ideal weight is always a few Lbs lighter than I actually am! Even though I'm (on paper) a healthy weight - bmi 21

watsthecraic · 05/02/2023 09:26

He cheated with curvy women is some way of putting the blame on the women.

He cheated. End of.

Craftycorvid · 05/02/2023 09:29

Sarcastic and cynical response: the ideal weight for a woman is small enough not to weigh too heavily on the three brain cells that are already leaving little space for the gigantic ego of the man she is with.

More measured response: your ideal weight varies throughout the lifespan and is very much less important than how physically well you feel, and your ability to accept yourself as valid whatever your size.

Blindsandcurtains · 05/02/2023 09:48

So you are 10 stone 2 and 5 foot 5 inches tall.

I am 5’6 and weight 10 stone 5 and feel and look overweight. I carry all my weight in my face, boobs and belly. I’d lie to be under 10 stone but it’s difficult to get that last half stone off.

mondaytosunday · 05/02/2023 09:49

Just to show the difference- I am 5' 10", not that much taller than @Leemoe, and when I weighed 10 stone 10 (150lbs) I was 35-26-36 and looked a bit too slim for my height. My ideal FOR ME, would be about 12 stone/168/76 kg. But I'd be totally happy weighing up to 175lbs. I'd be a size 14-16 which is fine for my height and I'm 60 so not so concerned about fitting into the latest thing.

QueefQueen80s · 05/02/2023 10:21

My perfect stats are 5ft 7, 10 and half stone. I have a wide skeleton so weight hangs off me differently. Any lower and I look ill.

NewNovember · 05/02/2023 12:36

@TheSmallAssassin yes of course I have heard of kg but I don't know what they mean in terms of a measurement they are just numbers in my brain.

55kg is not 10 stone 2.

kitsuneghost · 05/02/2023 12:54

Your weight is perfect. Anywhere between 50 and 68kg is good for a woman your height by WHO recommendations.

endlesscraziness · 05/02/2023 14:15

You need to get some self esteem and a back bone and get rid of your asshole husband. Have some self respect. The size of a woman has nothing to do with it, he's simply a cheating bastard. Wanting the same father for your children when that father behaves like that is ridiculous. Get rid. End of

Fenella123 · 05/02/2023 14:23

I mean, what for? Being a supermodel? Being a plus-sized model? Being a cyclist or gymnast? Being a hammer thrower or power lifter? TTC? Channel swimming? Protecting already damaged knee and hip joints? Protecting against osteoporosis later in life?

What's bad is too much abdominal fat; weighing so much that it interferes with getting up the stairs, reaching the floor, running for a bus; but also, weighing TOO LITTLE as that will kill you a heck of a lot faster than being too fat (or smoking even).

Can't really think of any woman who has so much weight composed of bone, muscle and organs that it's disadvantageous to them though!!

Fizbosshoes · 05/02/2023 14:30

OP the issue is clearly your husband rather than your weight. If you reached the mythical perfect weight, he'd probably find another way to make you feel insecure.

trieditbuyedit · 05/02/2023 15:16

I'm 5'8" and currently weigh 78ish kg bit ideally I'd like to make it to 72kg
Was 83kg at Christmas so I'm pleased with the progress so far
I find under 70kg doesn't suit me, I lose my softness

thesonicoscillator · 05/02/2023 15:52

I'm mid 50s, 5'6 and 76kg ( I think that's around 11 stone 9) carry it all on my belly ( small boobs, thinnish legs, small shoulders) my Dr has told me I absolutely must lose weight ( I'm in Italy where it's very acceptable & perfectly normal to tell someone they are overweight to their face, even if not a medic, no offence taken!) Dr is right of course, she said at the very most I should be 66Kg, but she'll be happier when I'm getting towards 70kg. Annual blood test was fine though apart from slightly raised Cholesterol. I do feel overweight and hate buying clothes in size XL, today in Zara I looked for some jeans the biggest size they do is 14 and that size bottoms are too small 😣

PollyAmour · 05/02/2023 21:05

The excess weight in your life is the 12 stone lump of lard you are married to, OP. Get rid of him. Don't blame curvy women for seducing your man, blame your man for being a sleazy cheater. What kind of man tell his wife 'women love your husband?' What a creep. Divorce him and celebrate your life as a single woman with a healthy body, and forget about your height/weight ratio. That's not the problem here.

TomPinch · 06/02/2023 03:59

Sies! There's no ideal weight for cheating arseholes OP. He's disrespected you and your family and he needs to face consequences.
