What have you bought recently that was worth every penny?

For me a Frandsen puffer coat that kept me warm in the very cold weather

Do you mean it takes 40 mins to dry it? Or now it takes 40 mins to shower etc then dry it? When I used to use a diffuser to dry mine it never took so long and mine is very thick and curly. I’m interested in your lovely curls now though!

Sorry my post isn't clear at all is it!

With a diffuser my hair used to take about 40 mins to dry - now it takes about half that. I have very fine hair but just so much of it, particularly at the nape of my neck. I do tend to use it hot but low speed.

Blow drying straight/bouncy curls now takes about 40 mins from soaking to bone dry rather than an hour-ish, although I do still rough dry first.

I recently bought a Korean skincare brand serum; skin1004 Madagascar centella ampoule and I'm in LOVE. It's so soothing, calms and redness and feels very hydrating. Really good for sensitive dry skin. Also I'm literally a lipbalm hoarder and have millions but I recently bought tinted lanolips balm in rhubarb and it's lovely. When I had DC I used the nipple cream as a lip balm and it made my lips amazing but it's nice to have a tinted one. Nice texture and subtle tint.

In a huge coincidence, I just ordered this (alongside shedloads of lip glosses and balms) from Stylevana. I also love the tinted Lanolips Grin

Thanks for confirming! Maybe one day I will treat myself.

I'm new to CT but just bought Flawless Finish and Beautiful Skin Foundation after a trip to the beauty counter - and it's the best my 50-something skin has looked in years.

Recently bought YSL 'Libre' perfume, absolutely love it as it smells just like Free Spirit Impulse body spray that I wore as a teenager in the 90's and have never found a scent to match it since 😁
Just this week got some Barrel leg Jeans from Whistles, love them and can see myself living in them for the foreseeable.

Love those green loafers @Renoir56

These fabulous trousers from Modstrom. The quality of the fabric is excellent; stretchy so they pull the tummy in , and they bounce right back into shape after washing. And they're so flattering; they're pull on so no zip or buttons to make my belly area look even bigger than it is.

@BMrs Couldn't agree more, I'm really impressed.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 09/02/2023 20:38

@Bucketlistbucket oh no I've got the Color Wow super volume something or another on order!

VictoriaBun · 10/02/2023 09:01

Yes agree the only skincare that will work is one that can penetrate the skin barrier.
Yes retinol works , but you need the one that is by prescription for it to really work.
try Dermatica. You get sent it monthly (and can skip or cancel at any time.)
I've set mine to receive every 6 weeks as I find it's enough for that time.
it will cost less than £3 for the first month then 25% off for the 2nd. Using my code will give me £5 my next month.

I just bought a pair of tan trousers, tapered, from Mother of Pearl, and they fit brilliantly and go with everything. They're going to be my go-to from May through to the end of September.

Revolution Vit C serum - tbh, I am not sure whether it's persistence that it is improving my skin, or whether this product is, indeed, as claimed by so many for Vit C serum, increasing my glow and smoothness. Anyway, along with double cleansing, and moisturising and SPF, I think this is helping improve the texture of my skin. I have also noticed a bit of staining on the palm of my right hand, which is what I use to apply it, so perhaps any glow I think I can detect is actually staining.

Japanese dermaplaning/eyebrow blades - cheap as chips, leave me lovely and smooth. Will save me ££££s on laser treatment.

JVN hair serum.

@Cocoandcleo amazon sells a pack of 5 silicone heel protectors which will make your DMs painless to break in .DD used them for her DM shoes and wore them to school straight out the box with no blisters.Put them between 2 pairs of socks so they don't slip.

TobySpaniel · 14/02/2023 19:20

@Fragrancefreebabywipes I'm totally ordering one of those right now

Fragrancefreebabywipes · 14/02/2023 20:47

@TobySpaniel do you mean the passenger jacket / hoody ?

BluebellBlueballs · 14/02/2023 21:23

Hourglass confessions lipstick from space nk with £10 discount.

Lipstick never stays on me part the first cup of tea but this stuff is bulletproof yet isn't drying the way some long last lippy are.

I don't even know if its supposed to be long last and its certainly not matte. No idea how they've done it but it's the first lippy that stays on me.

Whatthediddlyfeck · 14/02/2023 23:28

I bought this shirt from Zara and love it-it’s the most beautiful shade of duck egg blue. I’ll probably wear it with light coloured jeans, but might look for some wider leg jeans

where is it from please?

I bought this zebra print sweatshirt from M&S - I was shopping for my daughter but the 13-14 year old size fits me perfectly (5ft4 size 8). It was £13 and my daughter is still young enough that she thinks owning the same jumper as her mum is kind of cool 😎 Seriously, it was a complete bargain as part of their 3 for 2 offer and is very well made.

K18 leave in hair mask has made a massive difference. Got it in a beauty advent calendar and bought full size.

This jumper dress in purple. Love purple, and this was just what I wanted. Unfortunately, doesn't seem to be in stores though.

@sleepwhenidie - I have that Jigsaw skirt in the grey option. I love it too! Smart but comfortable and looks great for work.
