Following two interesting threads & posters are saying that the Dutch & German woman are impeccably groomed & dressed. The "scruffy toff with I untidy hair covered in dov hair" is absolutely not a sign of wealth... It's interesting!

This is Mumsnet. Everyone is white and considers themselves to be middle class, or at least hopes to project that.

Yes, it seems British =white...

I only ever see British men wear football shirts as a standard night-out outfit (common in London)

No it isn't.

I agree. Not where I live either. Or where I’m from. Unless it’s specifically to go and watch football. In which case I wear my team’s shirt as well. Shoot me.

Speaking of stereotypes, this is one of the examples of the way a 'typical British girl' looks like according to Japanese

I reckon I know what Convent school the designer had in mind for the one on the right....

I was in Paris last week and really noticed the contrast. I think men and women on the continent take more care however there is less individuality—what I mean, is when a British person looks stylish it’s usually with more personal flair (at least in my experience/opinion).

I lived in Paris and other places in France for 5 years and this is definitely not the case... although if you only go through rich touristy areas it may seem so!

"both men and women had very, very leathery skin from late 30s"

Spain is also sunny and you don't see this.

Um... yes you do- I noticed this in Spain too lol

It’s just a different way of living. UK has much more freedom to wear whatever the hell you want, even if it looks cheap and and doesn’t fit you properly, 9 out of 10 times nobody gives a damn. It’s normal.
You try and do the same in Italy and the looks you’ll get…

"Um... yes you do- I noticed this in Spain too lol"

From late 30s already??

"And yet....they still live in the UK!"

Well, freedom of movement has gone so...
