Very excited post yesterday's clear out to have created a whole new drawer for chunky knitwear. I clearly need to get out more....

My ideal Sunday today - a wander round the farmers market to pick up veg for tonight's veggie roast dinner, a woodland walk with DH and DDog, a possible cheeky pint at the pub on the way home, with DH cooking said roast. Hardly rock-'n'-roll but very nice!

Just been for a long walk around the nature reserve near our house. Icebreaker wool filled jacket, Aclima wool sports tights with Smartwool leggings underneath, Croft House wool jumper with Icebreaker merino base layer underneath, Hoka Challenger GTX trainers and Smartwool hike light socks. I might look like I'm going skiing but I was warm and comfy.

Lovely outfits! I’ve been so cold lately I’ve lost my mojo and just want to dress for warmth! Roll on Spring.

Thank you! It's Humulus by Isabell Kraemer. I used 'we are knitters' The Cotton in Natural and Khaki which is DK. The pattern calls for worsted which is somewhere between DK and Aran but I used this and got gauge easily. The yarn is a bit shiny for me really but it's meant to be for summer! You could find worsted anywhere that sells US yarns. Search for the pattern online. I've made a few of her patterns and they are really easy

I'm sooo tired, went out with dh and dc for lunch today at our favourite joint so that was lovely, then came back and got on with cleaning the house, am now officially not moving my arse from the sofa for the rest of the night😁

@takemebacktothe1990s Please don't worry that your clothes are not high end brands. Mine are definitely not...I'm very much a New Look/ASOS/Boohoo kind of shopper. I also buy almost everything second hand on Vinted and eBay. Everyone has been super friendly and welcoming to me on this thread!

@Benjispruce4 the school owner was listening into our conversation, and tbh she is also the nosy type so I don't think she found the questions too intrusive. However I could tolerate the questions from the owner before as I could see there was no malice in them, just lots of unfiltered curiosity. That admin lady was different though, she was trying to make you feel inferior (if that makes any sense) while also giving hints at how pureblood Japanese are much more superior than foreigners. She even dared comment on how "weird" DD's name is apart from everything else she said.
I didn't see her yesterday btw, but I did see the school owner (she avoided me, don't know whether on purpose or not), but I've noticed several other moms looking at me in smiley friendly way, which they didn't before. I guess some people might have also been interrogated by that lady too and they enjoyed seeing her embarrassed. However I've also noticed one mom giving me some nasty looks. I guess we will have to see how it all goes!
DD still seems to be very much enjoying ballet, so we are going to officially enroll for now.

@Sooverthemill your knits are sublime. I'm struggling with a Wool and the Gang 'easy' knit I'm doing for DD. In fact I'm taking it to a friend to troubleshoot later!
No pics likely for a few days. I'm in deep admin mode after a fortnight away. So will be in stuff like today's dog walking outfit - sweaty Betty yoga pants, jigsaw sweater, SB parka, Le Chameau wellies, Alpine Lowe bum bag

Been out this morning in a very warm, very old Woolvers long grey jumper and Seasalt Crackington trousers with merino thermals underneath. Then got home and changed into the new wool wide legged Icebreaker trousers with an old Icebreaker long sleeved top and Stapf wool jacket/cardigan thing.

@toucaninjapan shes clearly just a very rude woman and its also clear that other perents from the class have had the misfortune of being at the end of her bitter judgement also, thats why there being so nice to you now (wishing they had the bottle to say what they want to) and maybe the owner is avoiding you for fear of getting another complaint about the the women! As for your childs name, i know exactly where your coming from and its just not acceptable, its very unprofessional to voice an opinion on a matter that doesnt concern you! I had soooo many people comment on all my dc names (very unusual names) when i lived in norfolk, lots of jealousy and opinionated criticism, it was pathetic, i moved to london and i have literally had nothing but gushing and compliments on my dcs names, so who cares what one small minded person thinks in the grand scheme of things! shes obviously taken a disliking to you because she feels threatened, your gorgeous after all💁‍♀️

Baltic but sunny. Apparently we are getting snow at the end of the week..! Forbidden tribes knitted dress with All Saints slip dress. Shoes and necklace are Marks and Spencer. Saw the shoes in a magazine so snapped them up and currently breaking them in - they have a padded suede heel so very comfy right away. Purplecatdog is in his fave jammies again..
