Let’s see the dress?

StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf · 22/01/2023 22:13

It kind of depends how your boobs sit and whether you prefer them to be hoiked up? There are bras designed for backless dresses that sort of crisscross around your waist.

Depending on the style I do sometimes go braless (34F). Another option is a matching or contrasting bandeau top under just to make everything feel a bit more contained.

GCWorkNightmare · 22/01/2023 22:25

I had to return the backless wedding dress I bought as a 36g as there was absolutely no underwear up for the job. :-(

Galadriel90 · 22/01/2023 22:31

Will need to see a pic of the dress

daretodenim · 22/01/2023 22:38

I'd say it's possible if it's a dress with inbuilt support tailored to you, like a wedding dress (the Pronovias sort, not the Next sort). Even then it'd not be a guarantee.

Generally it doesn't matter how lovely the dress, if you're someone who needs to wear a supportive (rather than decorative) bra then not wearing one/wearing a workaround bra, will not show the dress, or your figure, in the way you are hoping.

Maybe there's an exception. Need to see dress and headless shot of you I think.

Squamata · 22/01/2023 22:40

Nope! Unless you've got some kind of customised wheelbarrow in front of you too prop them on, there's nothing for a bra to leverage against. You'd have to be pert enough to effectively go without a bra.

Mumstheword2022 · 22/01/2023 23:32

Hahah! Love it

the wheelbarrow thing is making me LOL

here’s the dress

Have a look at Ultimo, I'm an F cup and have a backless bodysuit from them

LadyOfTheCanyon · 23/01/2023 05:11

No, that's not a dress for a 36G. Even if you've had a boob job and they're high and tight it'll be too booby. Plus a leg slash, that's a lot going on in what looks like quite thin material.

Mamaneedsadrink · 23/01/2023 05:27

Feel your pain, if ita worth it get a bra sewn in the front. I did this with a top that I really loved, ita not quite the same as wearing a bra but it offers some support. I was about an E I think at the time

I disagree, it's very covered. If anything it might be too much material. Big boobs look better with a V neck, I think that's more flattering

Clymene · 23/01/2023 05:38

I think that dress isn't a very flattering shape for big norks

Mumstheword2022 · 23/01/2023 06:28

Thanks @bellsbuss
will head over there for a browse

@Mamaneedsadrink

somehow a v next is awful on me?

@LadyOfTheCanyon

yeah, I’m really not sure about it at all now!

fatsinglereadytomingle · 23/01/2023 06:32

Would the material hold up to having cups sewn in? You could ask a dress maker to look at it for a solution.

dianekeatonsocks · 23/01/2023 06:37

A backless dress could be great but a simpler style - low back bodysuits etc could work if you needed support
I think this is too structured and high necked

DeFacto · 23/01/2023 07:20

What's the rest of your body like?

Are you slim and titty?

Or big and titty?

It's a rubbish dress either way. Too busy at the front and a neither here nor there length.

It's neither beautifully simple or stand-out fantastic.

Mamaneedsadrink · 23/01/2023 07:25

I think you'd look great in a halterneck. Still backless but you can wear a bra too, and will make your boobs look great

Mamaneedsadrink · 23/01/2023 07:27

@Mamaneedsadrink

somehow a v next is awful on me?

Oh really?? Are you sure? Sorry I didn't see this before I posted, V neck is always my go to, I don't wear anything else. Could it be that it's not the right height?

daretodenim · 23/01/2023 07:33

I think the bodice of the dress is lovely but tricky. There is a lot of coverage over the bust, but there won't be enough fabric for a larger bust to squeeze in it. If it's stretchy it will be too stretched.

Definitely no bra or support options available with it either.

In the 90s/00s fashion mags used to say big boobs must be in a v neck but I don't think it's true. I'm 34GG and wear all sorts of necklines that look totally fine. In fact, I don't think I have any v neck tops.

I'm not sure on that dress op. I think you should find something even more beautiful that really works for you.

Rina66 · 23/01/2023 07:59

That dress is backless and shoulderless! If you had wider shoulder straps it could work as you could use the backless bra converter below, all you're left with really is a stick on, but the ones I've tried give no support.

Look up Kim Kardashian’s boob tape trick. Basically actrices and celebrities with big boobs who wear this sort of thing on the red carpet get their breasts taped in place first.
