Sore cracked lips

Just come back off holiday and even though I used sun screen day and night I have one of those awful cracks in the corner of my mouth, so every time I open it to eat, talk, laugh, it cracks.
What are your remedies in these situations, I am using Dr Paw Paw at the moment, but have caramex in a tub.

Blistex relief cream. It's the dog's doodahs.
Plenty of fluids as well.

HappyBook · 15/01/2023 14:24

Don’t use traditional lip balms like Carmex. They are really bad for you. They have something in them which dries your lips so you need to keep reapplying.

I use the Nuxe balm in a pot AM and PM as part of my skincare routine and keep a tube of La Roche Posay in my bag for emergencies.

Cam22 · 15/01/2023 15:16

Lypsyl.

LucyWhipple · 15/01/2023 15:20

Lansinoh (the stuff for breast feeding) is the absolute best. Not the cheapest (£10 a tube) but a tube lasts forever because you only need such a tiny bit. 2 or 3 applications & you’re sorted.

Noicant · 15/01/2023 15:22

Nuxe, best lip balm I’ve ever used.

buntywindermere · 15/01/2023 15:24

Lansinoh (the lanolin breastfeeding nipple stuff in a purple tube) - a little goes a long way!! I use burts bees overnight lip treatment too, often in the day time/in public, rather than the Lansinoh ha!

CoQ10 · 15/01/2023 15:36

Vaseline

Rainbowshit · 15/01/2023 15:37

Blistex in a metal tube is my favourite.

bellinisurge · 15/01/2023 15:38

Dare I mention Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream? It's actually pretty good once any lesions are healed

The only thing that ever works!! It is miracle stuff.

serenghetti2011 · 15/01/2023 19:39

Someone recommended weleda skin food lip balm is meant to be very good I’ve ordered some to try, but the lasinoh balm is really nice too, you can get in boots

Bessica · 15/01/2023 22:18

Laneige lip mask, you put it on at night and wake up with super soft lips.

littlelid · 15/01/2023 22:22

Aquaphor - the normal stuff not the lip stuff. It is the only thing that works for me

Purplepepsi · 15/01/2023 22:33

Lansinoh here. I had an allergic reaction and my lips swelled and split like a sausage. Lansinoh healed them in a week. Magic!

Would you happen to have a spare tube?

Another vote for Weleda skin food lip balm. I put it on every night and my lips are amazing by the morning. And I’m someone who bites at the skin on my lips regularly..

Lookingoutside · 16/01/2023 23:14

Blistex cream and then when you’re healed consider Laniege overnight lip mask. It’s so good!

I got 4 mini ones off eBay for about £7.

zeddybrek · 16/01/2023 23:48

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream.

JackieDaws · 16/01/2023 23:50

I had this and nothing worked. Mentioned it in passing to my GP and he prescribed an antifungal cream. It cleared up in days.

is the lansinoh lip balm the same as the nipple cream? Just thinking the lip balm is handbag sized

there isn’t a separate lip balm, it’s just the nipple stuff. The tube isn’t huge though not lipstick sized either
