Sore cracked lips

Just come back off holiday and even though I used sun screen day and night I have one of those awful cracks in the corner of my mouth, so every time I open it to eat, talk, laugh, it cracks.
What are your remedies in these situations, I am using Dr Paw Paw at the moment, but have caramex in a tub.

There is a lip balm on Amazon and it's the same as the nipple cream apparently but it's probably cheaper to buy the cream instead of the lip balm as you would get more in it

Aquaphor in a tube not the lip balm. Only thing that works for me. I have tried most well known lip balms but they barely do anything.

Ooh thanks for this. Will be slightly more subtle to carry around than the very obviously labelled nipple cream!

Another for blistex. It's so beautifully instantly soothing it's miracle stuff.

Don’t worry about nipple cream people- I used to work with someone who used Bepanthen(nappy rash cream) and didn’t mind who saw her slathering it on. Her lips, I should add!

@LucyWhipple I've actually bought the nipple cream at work this morning fortunately for me my work was empty !!! (I'm 50) so you can imagine if someone saw me and the comments and I've ordered the Amazon lip one for hand bag purposes!!!! 😂😂😂😂let's hope it works now!!!'

My local tattoo parlor sells it for skin healing!

@JamMakingWannaBe maybe worth a try then when I run out of Blistex!

WeeOrcadian · 17/01/2023 20:05

Lansinoh, Palmers nipple butter or bepanthen, they've never failed me and last for absolutely ages too

Namaste6 · 17/01/2023 20:29

Blistex for the lip balm. Dr Sebagh also does a lovely one, as do Alpha H.

It sounds like you could have a zinc deficiency. Up your whole meals, nuts, beans, red meat, dairy - if you eat any of those goods.

Foods!

I’ve tried all of these (even the nipple cream) on my lips as they are always recommended on here and I used to get really cracked sore lips. The absolute winner is Nuxe in a pot. Not had lip issues for years since I started using it. Best product ever.

Lansinoh here. I had an allergic reaction and my lips swelled and split like a sausage. Lansinoh healed them in a week. Magic!

I was on here looking for ‘crack in corner of mouth not healing’, luckily I bought some lasinoh the other day as I’m pregnant and it’s worked a charm! Healed overnight!
