Will the white trainers look still be in this spring/summer?

I don’t wear white chunky trainers as I don’t suit the dress and trainers look and am probably too old for it anyway. I did wear white Superga trainers with jeans/trousers the last couple of summers although I seem to remember they are seen as old-fashioned on here.

I was wondering what footwear was going to be in instead? Or any new 2023 fashion looks in general we can look forward to?

I can’t bear dresses and white trainers, I think it looks rubbish.

God, so do I. I hate white trainers!

PriamFarrl · 16/01/2023 23:10

So if not white trainers, then what?

however, classics leather white trainers with slim leg jeans or slim chinos will always look classic I think

Not if you have calves like mine they don't 😀

lindyloo57 · 17/01/2023 12:54

I hope they are still in, I only brought my first pair of white trainers last October.

PilatesPeach · 17/01/2023 18:06

Boat shoes? it's not Howard's Way or Marlow in the 90s - no way would I wear boat shoes I did not wear them at the time and not happening now.

ChamberLink · 17/01/2023 19:00

I think sandals will replace trainers

jvgugdj · 17/01/2023 19:15

Am hoping ballet bumps are coming back. They really suit me

Afiak · 17/01/2023 19:21

I read somewhere that coloured “old school” trainers will be in - this type of thing:

Are boat shoes the same as deck shoes? There is a lady at work who wears them. She is very glam and they look good on her.

AuntieMarys · 17/01/2023 21:58

It will be in my house. I don't wear dresses but live in white leather Supergas. I have navy ones too.

Betsylee · 17/01/2023 22:18

I sincerely hope so as after discovering how comfortable trainers are I went mad
and bought several pairs, one plain white, a couple of jazzy white, two in
Black and one pink. My yoinger daughter said for years why dont you wear trainers as i struggled in uncomfortable footwear and I'm converted now. I wear sandals and flats, and canvas but love the comfort of trainers so defi itely wont giving them up!

Duchess379 · 17/01/2023 22:19

I hope they are, I've got a brand new pair of Adidas Superstars in white that I'm dying to wear 😆

PriamFarrl · 17/01/2023 22:21

Well despite the nay sayers I’m thinking about getting some. What brands or styles do I want?

DilettanteMum · 17/01/2023 22:39

You can pry my white trainers off my cold dead feet.

Also my cottage core dresses and denim jacket. 😂

Iamthewombat · 18/01/2023 11:46

In any thread discussing whether an item of clothing is still fashionable, I count how many pages fill up before somebody volunteers that the item in question will be pried or prised off, or out of, a cold dead body part. It’s usually skinny jeans being prised out of cold dead hands so I appreciate the slight variation here.

AdoraBell · 18/01/2023 11:52

Bloody hope so as I’ve just bought some I’m the sales. Having monstrous feet, sever bunions and have broken both little toes- more than once, I can’t wear most shoes options. Also, can’t afford to brands that do shoes for bunions/wide feet.

PriamFarrl · 18/01/2023 13:01

Well I’ve just ordered my first Adidas Sam Smiths.

JackieDaws · 18/01/2023 13:07

Boat shoes lmao.

VoldemortsKitten · 18/01/2023 14:29

Watching with interest as last summer in my bit of London it seemed to be all peach hues! Wondering if this too has passed now

This sort of thing:

Still happy in my superstars tbf.

I’ve got some yellow and blue new balance trainers which I love!

StubbleAndSqueak · 18/01/2023 19:47

I'm not parting with mine

BudgetBeatrice · 18/01/2023 19:49

Agree white trainers are a classic. What you choose to wear them with might change though

QuentininQuarantino · 18/01/2023 20:10

I think they were past it last summer tbh so will be very dated by this summer, but if it suits you and you like it then wear what you like!

trainers have definitely gone more colourful.

ill be thrilled if boat shoes come back, I bloody love my sebagos and have endured raised eyebrows from my more stylish sixth formers the last few summers!!

TheDead · 18/01/2023 21:02

Good news for me as I've always worn colourful new balance though never with dresses as I'm not a fan of that look.
Flat italian leather sandals or birkenstocks with dresses
Trainers with 7/8 trousers in summer

UWhatNow · 18/01/2023 21:06

I do quite like the look but I can’t help but cringe about how sweaty those feet must get - especially in that blinding hot weather we got last year. What’s wrong with a fugly (but airy) Birkenstock? Too much frump?
