I am also glad the sale is now over! I made a last gasp order yesterday for the natural Shetland wool lace sweater, which may end up going back as the itch factor may be too high for me, especially as it has a high neck. And that turned out not to be the very last gasp, as I placed another order this morning for the firewood cotton twill quilted jacket, though I think it will be too big as I’m sure it was an xs I tried in store and there was only a s left. I also popped the navy wool tshirt in my order too, looked useful for winter layering.
The half sleeve alpaca cardigan and grey neat cashmere sweater arrived a couple of days ago but I only got around to opening today. The neat sweater is a keeper, but I knew it would be as I already picked up another colour earlier in the sale. The cardigan is going back though, the shape just doesn’t work for me.

TerrierOrTerror · 27/01/2023 16:35

All of my last order has been dispatched, which I am surprised about as I was expecting things to go out of stock.

I received a beautiful Toast dress from Vinted this week, great price, excellent condition...fits wonderfully until it gets to the bust and then it's two inches at least from doing up. I'm gutted. Debating seeing if I can work something out with a top underneath but I think it's a no. Hopefully will be able to resell for a similar price.

Stoic123 · 27/01/2023 17:25

Hurrah to sale stopping!

Happy birthday @Nanasueathome

Just the plum dress (+ non-counting cushion) to arrive and a couple of returns and I will be truly done. It's a dry Toast February for me but look forward to seeing what everyone is wearing/buying as we head towards Spring.

Nice outfit @dudsville

Nanasueathome · 27/01/2023 13:35

Thank goodness the sale has ended
its my birthday tomorrow and I know I’ve got Toast gift cards from my family
i hope there’s more new stuff to come

@Nanasueathome I’m envious of how well trained you have your nearest and dearest when it comes to gifts! Enjoy your Toastie birthday; will you keep your vouchers till the next sale?

dudsville · 27/01/2023 09:04

I miss read my diary, thought i had a 9 am mtg but I was wrong, so I nipped up to try it on with the acorn cords. I think this works and is very "me".

@dudsville , I love this very chill outfit; you look super. The contrast of the cords makes the blue of the sweater sing.

Nanasueathome · 27/01/2023 17:48

Yes, I’ll keep my toast gift cards until the next sale
Theyre valid for 2 years
i always ask for gift cards too as they come in little fabric gift bags

thank you all for birthday wishes❤️❤️

SmaugMum · 27/01/2023 17:52

Well, I vowed I wouldn’t go back into the sale, but, you know…anyway, I actually ordered a men’s tangerine long-sleeve Breton tee in a size small (I have a bit of an orange obsession at the moment) and it was reduced from £115 to £40. I regretted not buying a few more sets of the paper chains as teacher Christmas gifts (yes, I’m a planner and I do have the proverbial present drawer!) but I popped into my local Oxfam today (I love charity shops as much as I like Toast) and bought some reindeer tea light holders (nicer than they sound!) reduced from £12.99 to £1 each. Result. And next charity shop along I bought a brand-new pair pair of Spring Court black canvas high tops for £6.

AFingerofFudge · 27/01/2023 19:05

@Stoic123 I think I'll join you in Dry Toast February!

dudsville · 27/01/2023 20:00

Happy End of Toast Sale everyone!

I recieved some things today. The denim swingy dress is very cute but going back. I don't really need something so casual at £110. I also got the dark grey cardigan - very boxy body but oddly thin arms so it's going back. I also recieved my 3rd attempt at an orange tee (orange is also having a moment in my wardrobe @SmaugMum !) But this one wasn't right either, so back it goes.

But here's the odd thing. For kicks I ordered the terracotta cord skirt. It's a real leap back to the 60's/70s, and I think i love it. If i think of it as orangey then i think I'll be too scared to wear it, so I'm going to think of it as a kind of brown!

I've got five more things coming tomorrow but 3 are 2nd sizes, all of which are going back. Then a night dress and a pair of pjs that I assume I'll want to keep. Then i have one final delivery that I'm presuming will arrive about Tuesday.

Thanks for the sapphire jumper outfit appreciation, i am really glad i kept it!

That's a shame about the vinted dress @TerrierOrTerror.

Hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow@Nanasueathome !

Here's to a successful Dry Toast February, to our bank accounts settling down and to wearing our fabulous things!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/01/2023 20:28

Sounds like some charity shop bargains @SmaugMum , hopefully the men’s tee will be a good purchase too.

I have decided to return the loopback conker jersey shirt as there’s just too much bulk at the shoulder for me.

I’m not sure I can manage a dry toast February as there’s definitely one or two pieces in the new collection I would love to try.

Stoic123 · 27/01/2023 20:41

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - I will live vicariously through you and others who continue to shop 😀

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/01/2023 20:44

@Stoic123 you’re welcome Grin

TempleofZoom · 27/01/2023 20:57

I'm a wierdo as I get really bored of the sale and long for new stuff!

Planning on the wool/ cotton gansey and the side button denim skirt.
I also love the loop back jersey top and trousers in midnight even though £££
Can anyone advise regarding the trouser sizing?
I got the grey set and the medium trousers are quite loose, the top fits well.
I'm a 12 with a small waist and generous bum 😁

OftenOrange · 27/01/2023 21:33

Couldn’t resist a final punt on the sale. a few pieces that received great feedback here: plum checked dress, tie neck long cord top in slate blue, colour block cardigan ( curiosity and an impulse buy) and horizontal brown / cream Shetland fairisle ( great price and good reviews on Toast)
As I’m out of UK in Summer , Sale then is out for me , plus I think Winter pieces

seem better cost per wear

Countmeout · 27/01/2023 21:37

Yes glad it’s now over.
To get back to sale favourites for me the Alix woollen trousers which I’ve already worn on 2 consecutive days with the hairy tank and a Francis T from a few years ago, the Fern dress which is my favourite shape, and the Donegal wool scarf which I love the texture of. Others items I bought are hopefully good investments that I will get a lot of wear out of. Only fail probably is the fine striped shirt I bought before Christmas as the sleeves are very voluminous.

Im not going to rush into any new season stuff but can’t promise to have a dry Toast February.

Blossomtoes · 27/01/2023 21:40

I’m going to have a dry five months. I only ever buy from Toast in the sale.

Laska2Meryls · 27/01/2023 21:50

Well I have already bought two things from the new collection Blush.. but they are both things that I know will be worn and worn.. The Fenugreek balloon linen trousers and the Slub cotton linen shirt in Chambray which arrived today.. That will be all for a while, but both will be going on our Feb/March Spain Portugal Campervan road trip in the hope of warmer climes.. But nothing more until the next sale now .

Fingerlessmitts · 27/01/2023 21:50

othgraph · 26/01/2023 13:28

Anyone have the Mariner Hemp Cotton Trousers that could advise on sizing? Is it true to size or do you need to size down?

Size down - they are beautiful.

FiddleFigs · 27/01/2023 21:59

My last gasp sale parcel is arriving tomorrow - the indigo trapeze dress and orange collared tee. I was planning on sewing a trapeze dress this spring, but at the sale price it worked out cheaper than it would to make myself (if it fits, that is!).

dudsville · 27/01/2023 22:10

It's interesting thinking about sale fails @Countmeout. I've been thinking about the 3 pairs of trousers that were my first ever Toast purchases. I write them distantly in the beginning. But they're short, so summery, but wool so autumn/springy, too wide legged to be worn in winter. Just too confusing, so i never chose them anymore. One of the nice things about toast is the generous hem though, so I've got them out of the wardrobe and am considering letting them down a bit. My other toast fail is a black and white shirt that's just too short and I've not been successful at layering it.

Countmeout · 28/01/2023 07:38

Yes @dudsville hems are generally great. I’ve just let down the Stella dress which I dyed. It felt just a bit frumpy at its original length.

Five months @Blossomtoes ! There’ll be one before that surely - another mini one I hope for some of the winter stuff they’re not carrying forward although admittedly they seem to carry forward quite a lot these days.

I have this dress. Its quite a heavy dress. Quite wide. It has pleats at the sides. It's beautiful but I can see why some might not like it.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/01/2023 08:52

I'm on a no spend for a good few months although I do love some new things, I have spent too much in the sale, will wait it out.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/01/2023 08:56

Hard to think of my best sale purchase as I have quite a few. I love everything I've kept.
I've worn the burgundy check dress the most, after initially saying I wasn't keeping!
It's so useful and comfortable.
Also the barrel leg dungarees.
I also got the olive check dress like the burgundy one. Wore that yesterday and love it too.
I don't have a favourite. I love everything I've bought!

dudsville · 28/01/2023 08:57

I just had a look through the current stuff and this is the least liked collection since i started shopping with them; there's nothing that really interests me. If I like the fabric then i don't like the dress pattern they've used for it, if i like the dress pattern and fabric then the colour doesn't suit me. It's a little dull but i suppose it will help me with my intention to stop growing my wardrobe, and it means I'll look forward to the archive sales.
