Does anyone know if Hush clothing is good quality or not? Dont want to order a load of stuff if its not very good.

FANTINE2 · 09/01/2023 13:13

Poor quality and over priced!

chocopuffs · 09/01/2023 13:16

I like their stuff but would also say the quality is poor for the price. I have a dress where the cuff ripped within a few wears, and two identical pairs of pyjamas where the buttons popped off very soon after buying. I'd say my items haven't washed that well either.

Krakenes · 09/01/2023 13:23

Very poor quality, which is a shame as some of the things look quite nice.

memyselfi · 09/01/2023 13:24

I quite like the look but sadly the items tend to unravel or acquire holes . It's a shame .

Parts · 09/01/2023 13:26

the pjs are lovely and soft to begin with but turn very stiff after a few washes. I've got a couple of gorgeous viscose shirt/blouses that I'm reluctantly consigning to the fabric bag after about 15 washes because they've bobbled and gone saggy. On the other hand, my harems started looking shabby after a year but I've carried on wearing them for another two years as they're comfy and haven't got worse.

I'm aware this isn't a ringing endorsement.

dontknowwhatisbest · 09/01/2023 13:41

I have a pair of their Agnes jeans which I love and seem to be wearing well. They are my fave jeans right now.

I also bought a summer dress in the sale last year which seems good quality, although it was half price so the bar was set lower I guess.

Iamthewombat · 09/01/2023 13:52

I stopped buying from them after three garments shrank or fell apart.

Sarahconnor1 · 09/01/2023 13:55

Jeans seem OK, everything else is poor quality in my experience

spidersenses · 09/01/2023 13:58

Hit and miss, but definitely vastly overpriced. The quality does not reflect their price point.

I have some boots I love from there that are going strong. But absolutely avoid the t-shirts at all costs - they develop multiple holes fairly quickly.

rattlemehearties · 09/01/2023 13:58

Another voice here saying it's lovely, but not worth the full prices.

I've been pleased with cardie, joggers, t shirt, pyjamas all bought in the sale and I would've been annoyed at full price at they don't wash well, but they are perfectly fine.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 09/01/2023 14:06

I had some jeans from there once which fell apart at the seams on first wearing. The quality is bad imho.

Whitney168 · 09/01/2023 14:08

They used to be much better quality, dire now unfortunately.

Summerhillsquare · 09/01/2023 14:08

I have a cotton t-shirt which has lasted well, a viscose one not so much!

mistyriver · 09/01/2023 14:13

I've had a lot from there as like the style and I've generally found harems, jeans and dresses are fine. Jumpers and tees really lose their shape and don't wash well. Shame

TheFormidableMrsC · 09/01/2023 14:21

I really love Hush but it is now a bit out of my price range, however, I've managed to get some new items on eBay or Vinted. Sweatshirts tend to wear well in my experience but I find t-shirts grow over time. Further, I treated myself to some leather trainers with birthday money in September last year. They have split and let in water so I am waiting to hear from customer services.

Hoppinggreen · 09/01/2023 14:22

I’ve got loads of Hush.
The dresses are generally good but the knitwear isn’t great quality.
My Agnes jeans are my favourite jeans ever and so comfy.
Not sure shy of it is worth the price though

PaulRobinsonsSeventhWife · 09/01/2023 14:30

I have 10 year old PJs that are in pretty good condition but I look at the stuff now and can't fathom people paying such prices for synthetic, poorly made items. Plus the stars on things had its moment a good 8 years ago.

gawditswindy · 09/01/2023 14:48

I've got a couple of blouses what have worn well but sweatshirts and t-shirts lose their shape really badly after one wash. Really disappointing for the price.

SockGoddess · 09/01/2023 14:56

V variable. In my experience, the knitwear often bobbles really badly so I avoid it now. OTOH I have a shirt dress, t-shirts and longline vests that have lasted years and still look like new after many washes. I think if it's a natural fabric, it's more likely to be good quality. They have so many different t-shirts but the plain cotton slub ones I have have lasted well.

Talisin · 09/01/2023 15:03

Some is, some is not. I always wait to buy until there are some reviews up and I now always avoid anything that’s Lenzig Ecovero viscose because I had two dresses that shrank in the wash. I’ve had LEV from other brands that are fine though.

Iwritethissittinginthekitchensink · 09/01/2023 15:09

I love the sweaters and they last well, but often the dye runs so make sure to wash them on their own the first couple of times and some of the colours fade a bit.

Tiddlywinkly · 09/01/2023 15:31

I've got pjs from years ago that are great and the biker sweatshirts, Sloppy Joe tops and Emmanuel dresses have been going strong. My oldest dress is 6 years old. However, I do think the quality has declined and I'm generally not as keen on all the floaty flowery tops they seem to bring out.

LoveLabradors · 09/01/2023 15:52

Variable. I find their cashmere good quality - have a couple of jumpers several years old which have washed well and scarves too. I got the beautiful deep teal chunky cashmere jumper in the current sale which is fantastic. I’ve never found the sweatshirts to last well. Still have longline vests which are in great condition, worn loads and 8 years old. Dresses are a mixed bag. I pretty much always wait for the sales or at the least a 20% offer. I find the cotton pjs last very well but tend to find the flannel pjs look tatty and gradually shrink. The sizing is very much vanity sizing and everything comes up very big generally. I wish they would get a grip on that.
Overall I think Hush rapidly overexpanded over the last few years and there is too much samey stock. I wish they would reduce their collections and focus on quality and stylish basics / core items. Too many shapeless, baggy dresses however got some lovely fitted ones in the summer sale which I hope they do more of.
But some of the things I’ve had from them over the past decade I’ve adored and still wear.

Niftythrifter · 09/01/2023 16:56

I have a silk dress bought in a charity shop that is good and also a cotton long sleeve t that I bought in a charity shop that seems good. I saw a nice skirt in JL the other day in the sales but even at the sale price I didn’t think it was worth it.

Tinytigertail · 09/01/2023 17:05

The quality has declined massively over the past 5 years or so. Such a shame, as their designs are great, but I don't bother with them anymore.
