Molecule 01- is it a con?

I received a bottle of Molecule 01 as part of an offer, so wrapped it up for the kids to give me for Christmas.

The problem is, no one in my house can smell it when I wear it. Am I doing something wrong? Is it the emperor's new clothes?

oddly, I can smell the Aldi dupe really well but only occasionally, such as on a jumper I rewear, notice the real escentric Molecules scent.

a) The only ingredient in Molecule 01 is the aroma-molecule Iso E Super. This is one of a group of fragrance materials, such as musk, that some people are highly sensitive to, while others find them hard to detect. Most people, however, detect these ingredients within a normal range of sensitivity.

I'm curious about this also. I've ordered the molecule 01 + patchouli as even if I can't smell the molecule I know I like patchouli. I'll report back when it arrives.

Some people can definitely smell it! I was once chased down the road by someone asking me what perfume I was wearing when wearing Molecule 01.

I had it, it's finished now and not sure if but it again because one of the joys of wearing perfume is enjoying the nice smell!

Although I had a good few people ask and comment on it, mainly women.

I had a male Nurse wear it and asked what it was. I've since bought it twice for DS.
It is lovely on him too, and I can smell it on his clothes the next day.
I love it and so does DS, I'll continue to buy it for him.

It's basically Iso E Super molecule - some people are anosmic to it. The same happens with some types of musks - some people are able to smell it, some are not.

If anyone is interested in trying it they usually do little miniature selections at christmas time. My sister got it this year so I'm interested to see what she thinks

I bought one and can hardly smell it however I now also have 04 and it's divine.

Really fresh, not strong in any way but lovely. I too can't smell 01 though.

I've just ordered the +mandarin one though as I also like citrusy notes. Haven't smelt it yet though.

I’ve had this perfume for years now. It’s my everyday!

my other half and a few others have never been able to smell it on me.

however, I’ve been stopped in public numerous amounts of times.

my colleagues can also smell me in a different room! (In a good way)
I always get complimented on it front those who can smell it!

I can't smell any of the Molecule scents! Not on me, on others, in the bottle - nothing!
So for me, it is Emperor's New Clothes.

To me, when it's on me it smells like the flyspray you used to be able to buy in an aerosol. Ghastly !
Just a complete waste of money.
The Molecule 04 is lovely. I tried it
I will buy that.

I have a dupe so maybe not the same. To me it's a woody type, maybe even a cedar type smell. If I wear it I can't smell it, and I've not had one compliment. But if my dd wears it, I can smell it on her and she always gets complimented.

So she claimed it, but I think it's depends on each person's chemistry (I think the word is)

I can smell it on myself and others but to me it smells of pencil shavings. I have a bottle but rarely use it.

i have the selection box, £25, 01 and 04 have an oud base....lovely, i also like 03, not keen on 02 or 05....i can smell them quite strongly.

I’ve had a bottle of 01 for years and I don’t think anyone has ever complimented me on it! I don’t wear it very often as it doesn’t smell that great to me, but if I want a ‘clean’/fresh scent I’ll wear it. I’m intrigued by the other variations!

I'm one of the people who can't smell it.
It was one of the "gamechanger" perfumes at the exhibition at Somerset House a few years ago. DD could smell it but I couldn't.
Its installation there iirc was fresh sheets blowing in the breeze etc.

I was in US on holiday and met a woman who smelt fantastic, when I asked what perfume she used, she said Molecule 1 mixed with another perfume but Molecule smells different on every person. I bought some and it smells of solvents and have never had a complement when wearing it.

I bought a dupe from Amazon, my best friend can smell it and adores it. My DH and family smell nothing at all.

I bought a dupe and the real thing. Both very similar. Smelled of fly spray on me.🙁

My colleague wore it and it smelt lovely. I have a tester and it smells lovely too!
