Maje, Sandro and Kooples too, do mini dresses maybe not so strappy.

Best wishes to you and your daughter, and congratulations on her law degree place for next year.

I would try Stradivarius , Bershka, Pull and Bear, Monki. My 18 year old niece would appreciate clothes from any of those and I think a bundle of clothes would be more fun than just one dress .

Thanks everyone except some of you

I made a decision an hour and a half ago to buy the Givenchy one. It was NO LONGER AVAILABLE 😱. You know when you've finally fallen in love with something? I was sickened.

So, to console myself, I went back through them all and the one that I love the most was No. 4. I feel it's trendy but I looked at it for about 20 minutes and then decided that 'the boys' (whose opinion matters when you're 18 and were in lockdown for 2 years 😊) would just figure that her mother was too lazy to iron her dress so it might not be appreciated. Off I went on the hunt again. And I found this one (let's call it the red herring lol). www.yoox.com/uk/15250460UV/item#sts=orders&cod10=15250460UV&sizeId=-1
My only concern is that dd has quite big boobs (32D) and being adorned with similar sized items myself, anything with a fitted chest doesn't fit well as I'm a bit out of proportion to the rest of the population it appears.
So I debated and hmmned and hawed for a further 20 minutes and then for the 10th time, I tried putting the Givenchy one into my basket and proceeding to the checkout and it worked!

So, the two of them are now winging their way to me. She is only getting one of them. the little shit has not replied to me yet either but I still love her-

She would like that dress but she likes something more statement I think. It's certainly her style. It's hard to describe her taste (which I do know, despite declarations to the contrary from the posters here). She blends in but likes to stand out, so that would be too 'normal' for her I think.

I'm in 40s so it has been one or 2 years since I was 18!!! But the problem here is just as all women are not a heard, neither are young women of 18. There are 2 18 year olds at work, both in similar "apprentice" roles and relate well with each other. But their individual clothing style is so different. I don't think it's possible to select what an 18 year old would like from this. Sorry!
