Has anyone been asked by vinted to confirm their identity after they've sold a certain amount? I'm being asked to confirm my identity before they will release my latest funds from a sale as apparently i have reached the threshold. Any ideas?

Yes it happened to me. It’s normal.

They've been referred to multiple countries' data control authorities over precisely this practice of demanding users' official ID scans. Nothing determined though.

What do I do? I can't get my money if I don't do it but don't want to give them my scans...

Watching with interest, as I've had the same thing happen to me. What did you decide to do OP?

Do they have the right to withhold money that is rightfully yours if you refuse to upload your ID?

Can't you just use the funds for your next purchase that's what I do. Depends how much you have in there though of course! If it's hundreds then that's different!

I uploaded my drivers license because I wanted £35 they were holding from me! Not happy doing so but don't understand how to get my money otherwise. I've sold near to £800 of stuff since joining it in feb this year...

Hi,yes I had to do the same and didn't know if it was for tax reasons. Does anyone know if there's a way of seeing how much I've made on there in the last year?

Does anyone know what happens if you don't have any photo ID you can upload?

Yes. Why would you not want to do it?

No valid photo ID so can't provide what they need!

Apparently you can use a family members ID as long as they live in the same house as you. There's a forum on vinted and I've heard people say this on there

It’s probably for anti money laundering reasons? I’ve sold loads but only for smaller amounts so have not encountered this yet.

Thanks -yeah that's what Vinted say it's for. There are only two types of ID they accept in the UK so if you don't have either of these then not sure what you are expected to do!

Is this only if you withdraw the cash? I sell a lot but I use it to buy stuff off Vinted so never withdraw it

I wonder if they will - eventually - accept the Government photo that we have to have to vote if we don't have passport/driving licence etc as I don't have either the licence or passport and have to use my cash to pay for the next purchases which is a little galling as I sometimes have over £100/150 on the few times that I've had a full wardrobe clearout and the last thing I need is more clothes.

It's great for clearouts and for picking up extra bits here and there but their customer service is APPALLING. I have just had a set to with them last week over a seller who sent literally wet through and mouldy clothes with holes in.

She'd washed and packed them up wet and then been rubbish about posting so they'd sat about for over a week at hers, then come through the post). She'd carefully photographed things not to show holes etc - and then claimed innocence despite HUGE mould growths over the clothes that also absolutely stank. Then she indirectly made out she would tell vinted it was me who had done it and so put me at risk of losing my original AND the return postage which would be roughly £7.

Vinted would not help me if I didn't return it - they outright refused and said return was the only way to activate buyer protection despite none of it being my fault and it visible on pictures the sopping wet mess and the growths of mould that showed it wasn't 'newly done' by me if you get me and the water on my kitchen floor.

There was a complete block of any other help if I didn't return it. It's a shame because the premise is good - but the customer service/lack of actual help/common sense really knocks it down.

That is awful! I would agree, their customer service is one of the worst I’ve encountered. It pains me a lot to use them, but it does seem to be so much better than eBay for selling things just now. So frustrating they get away with this!

Yep, currently there's on bundle outstanding from the seller I mentioned because it has gone missing after being collected by a courier on the 13th.

One of the customer service agents (agent a) has marked the bundle as received (despite tracking showing that it is still missing and neither myself not the seller having it). I marked it as 'I have a problem/haven't received it' and they suspended the transaction whilst it is looked in to. Another customer service agent (agent b) has told me to wait another 10 days to the end of the month and then it will be refunded.

Agent a has started a new conversation and is telling me I MUST return the bundle to the seller as she's gotten it confused with an earlier bundle that sadly I had to accept because I would not return (after the seller said she'd tell vinted it was my fault so I would likely lose all original payment and return postage because vinted customer service cannot be relied upon to see sense). Agent a will not have it that she is wrong and is talking about a bundle that has already been finalised and completed and payment released to the seller (with negative feedback left) because "she can see its still in the system and payment has not been released". I've tried repeatedly to explain that yes, that is the one that is missing after being collected by the courier and have provided tracking links and screenshot but no, she won't have it.

Agent b says there's no sign of interference (YET) from agent a on the suspended transaction so she really has gotten herself confused 🤦🏻‍♀️. I've even resorted to asking agent a to stop "helping" as she's making things worse by contacting the seller to ask for her return address for me to return the finalised parcel bundle to her when there's nothing to return so she's reigniting things there when it doesn't need to be and the seller is sending abusive messages that theyre not stopping or taking action on all because agent a has gotten things arse about face. I can't block the seller as we have an open order and agent a won't back off or understand that she's wrong despite noone else at customer services seeming to understand where she's coming from or why she got involved and started a new ticket herself.

It beggars belief 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm new to Vinted, and have been enjoying selling items and withdrawing my money. I have become aware of certain issues and follow threads such as these with interest.

This is a small issue - last night they deleted a small china bell ornament of mine. When I asked why, they said it was because it is a statue 🤔😐

I queried that further 🙄 and they refuse to re-instate the item - there are lots of similar items listed and they said I would have to either write to their legal department in Lithuania or email them.

This is the email address, which might be useful for some of you who are experiencing problems (if you weren't already aware of it!):

[email protected]

I don't know if it works, but may be worth a try!
