Erborian CC or BB?

SalviaOfficinalis · 04/12/2022 22:02

I’ve finally been indoctrinated by the hive mind into buying Erborian… but should I get CC or BB?

I use bare minerals tinted moisturiser at the moment, which I quite like. I’m aiming for a sheer “no make up” but glowy good skin look.

Neither are sheer - they are both much more like a foundation than European BB/cc creams tbh.
I really like the BB, but even the lightest CC makes me 🍊

oceanbleu · 04/12/2022 22:10

CC is amazing as it's really light on the skin and you don't feel like you have it on. So if you usually just use a tinted moisturiser, this would be similar. It makes my skin really even and removes all the redness. I haven't tried the BB cream but I imagine it's thicker as it's described as medium coverage and bb creams usually are.

Joshanddonna · 04/12/2022 22:10

They’re both amazing.
sorry not helpful but true.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 04/12/2022 23:20

I have also ordered the CC, thanks to mumsnet. I also ordered a free BB sample to try as well.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 12/12/2022 21:26

The Erborian CC arrived. It comes out white and once applied, magically transforms into your natural skin colour. Good job mine's orange.

princessbear80 · 12/12/2022 22:22

I have the both and prefer the cc, in fact I love it. Although I do have the one that reduces redness so not the standard one.

Murasakispillowbook · 12/12/2022 22:24

The clair CC is incredible. Just looks like my skin but better. At its very best

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/12/2022 22:49

I much prefer the BB (in Nude). It's light yet provides subtle coverage. I find the CC cream is too orange and is heavier than the BB cream.

JMAngel1 · 13/12/2022 03:31

The CC cream is more glowy and a bit heavier. The BB is more matte and lighter finish. I prefer the BB but I have oily skin. I’m Nude (MAC NC25 and EL 3WO for reference).

Sparkletastic · 13/12/2022 04:06

I far prefer the BB as I find that it colour matches perfectly to my skin and is a more natural, less heavy, coverage than the CC.

TheProblemIsMe · 13/12/2022 06:24

Save your money. I bought the CC cream recently to hide flushed cheeks and it's just OK. I can still see redness and a load of cheaper products can do the same thing. Disappointed in myself for falling for the marketing!

LoveLabradors · 13/12/2022 08:02

I prefer the BB. I find the CC goes orange and coverage patchy.

LoobyDop · 13/12/2022 09:18

I use the BB. It gives enough coverage that I can get away with it on video calls, and lasts all day, but is light enough that it doesn’t have to be applied very carefully. For me that’s perfect. I also mix it with my foundation when I’m wearing “proper” makeup, as I’ve got so used to the lighter coverage that foundation on its own feels too heavy now.

Itsthewhitehat · 13/12/2022 10:02

I have been using their CC in a lair for about a year. I absolutely love it.

I find the BB too much coverage for me. The CC is a perfect match. Just ordered a new tube yesterday

lindyloo57 · 13/12/2022 12:58

I prefer the cc i found the bb heavier more like a foundation, I do have both the clar the lightest shade and the dore , I mix them in the winter but I can wear the dore on its own in the summer, I love it and won't ware any other foundation. You can put a little powder on top for more coverage. I sometimes use a mineral foundation over, just a little, or any powder coloured or natural.

Lurkingshark · 13/12/2022 13:04

Has anyone tried the BB crayon? I’m always on a holy grail concealer for under eye.

NameIsBryceQuinlan · 13/12/2022 13:05

Cc for me. The bb I tried was too heavy.

The cc cream just gives a tiny bit of coverage, very subtle.

SecretVictoria · 13/12/2022 13:05

BB, the CC makes me look like a satsuma!

NameIsBryceQuinlan · 13/12/2022 13:06

It's probably my number one holy grail product but I can see some people below aren't keen. It's funny how we can experience products so differently. I think they do small tubes if you want to test it

CointreauVersial · 13/12/2022 13:12

CC for me, brilliant stuff. I always worry it is going on too white, but then it just vanishes, leaving a gorgeous finish. And a little bit goes a very long way.

I do wish there were more than two shades, though. I use Clair, and it is a tiny bit pale/pinky for me, especially in the summer, but Dore is too orange.

Neversaygoodbye · 13/12/2022 13:13

I like the CC coverage but have noticed I look a bit tanned especially in winter - using clair. I'm considering trying the BB cream, but worried it'll be too dark (for my pale winter skin) and too heavy.

Yes! I really like it. Carry one round in my gym bag so I can look slightly less grim after getting up at 4.30-5.30am to exercise. Also handy for flights as it avoids the liquids bag.

Try BB in Nude. I can't use CC in Clair as it's a tad too dark/orange for me but Nude looks amazing, completely natural.

Neversaygoodbye · 13/12/2022 16:10

@HundredMilesAnHour thanks I'll try that.

panko · 13/12/2022 18:19

You can often find samples on Ebay to try them. I found a water version of one of them that was nice but can't remember which as I didn't go on to purchase.
