Any interest in a opening/review thread?

I tend to open early.
No photos until after 0700?

I agree, my skin feels good 😊 I think it’s the Elemis as I’ve not used the Sunday Riley as consistently, I’ve used the Elemis morn and night since I opened that drawer. Plus the addition of the Kate Somerville exfoliate cleanser, could actually be that 🤔

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 13/12/2022 12:58

Agree with hand cream comments, I couldn’t remember what it was we opened. Won’t go wrong, as they say.

Dailymash · 13/12/2022 13:28

While a hand cream is maybe not the most exciting find in our calendars (and even the packaging could be more exciting) this time of year my poor hands need the moisture. I always keep a hand cream on my bedside cabinet to put on before bed so this can wait in the drawer for my latest one to run out.

It’s worth £9 which takes our total to £255.

Lookingformymarbles · 13/12/2022 13:32

Very happy with the Clarins hand cream today, whilst not a wow product it is nevertheless a good quality and effective hand cream that I am always happy to use.

Thanks for the running total @Dailymash, interesting to see how much it's really worth.

Giftwithpurchase · 13/12/2022 13:37

Always happy to receive Clarins.
Yesterdays was a DOD for me - appreciate its lovely but cannot wear perfume 😭.. will gift it

PomRuns · 13/12/2022 14:22

@Dailymash The running total is fab. Am expecting some amazing drawers to get to £771 !

My skin is looking good after the Exfolikate and Elemis (not used CEO yet). I will wait a week to reuse Exfolikate - it is strong stuff.

Talisin · 14/12/2022 06:50

I’ve had this before and was a bit meh. However having just looked at the instructions, I realise I was using it wrong so maybe I’ll give it another go.

How do you use the Elemis? A few drops or more ?

Yes just a few drops, about 3 drops. It doesn’t come out very easy, maybe that’s why.

Peridot1 · 14/12/2022 07:28

I haven’t used a scalp scrub so interested to use today’s.

@RosettaStormer - I haven’t used the Elemis Essence but yes I’d pour a few drops into the palm of my hand and pat it into my skin. Just looked at it on the Elemis website and it claims to double the moisture in the skin.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 14/12/2022 07:31

Todays confused me no end, for the simple reason I got a full size pot of this scrub this month (in a FabFitFun box) and in my haze I thought it was in the John Lewis box and couldn’t work out why they were giving us a mini version of what we’d received. I used it once and liked it, though I don’t know if it’s related, my hair has been getting greasy quicker since so I’d be interested to hear what everyone’s experience of it is.

Stoic123 · 14/12/2022 07:32

Intrigued by today's - not something I'd ever buy without trying. Good that they put this kind of thing in calendars.

Does seem designed for folks that colour hair at home or have an oily scalp - neither apply to me.

Sample size (2 goes?)

pattyparsnip · 14/12/2022 07:47

There's something about putting a scrub in my hair which gives me the ick . I'll probably give it a go though.

Roundaboot · 14/12/2022 07:50

I've been layering the Elemis, so putting on about 3 drops, patting it in and letting it soak in, then repeating, then moisturizing.

Today's is not for me - my hair is curly and I have no need for a scalp scrub!

PomRuns · 14/12/2022 08:02

Interested to try todays.

re the Elemis - do you put serum on top or this is the serum?

OP posts:
Lookingformymarbles · 14/12/2022 08:24

I've used this scrub before and wasn't keen, this is my first day of disappointment so not complaining.

@PomRuns I use the essence instead of a serum (my skin doesn't like to be overloaded with products) and today used the Sunday Riley for the first time-my normally dry skin feels lovely.

PaulRobinsonsSeventhWife · 14/12/2022 10:15

It took me until today to find that putting the Elemis stuff upside down the tapping the bottom controls how it comes out. I was shaking it before and using far too much.

Can't get excited about today's, already normally use Elasticizer and Olaplex but will see what this one does. Would love more make up.

Dailymash · 14/12/2022 11:33

I was waiting for this, shame it’s only a couple of uses worth but I’ll test it over the weekend. Reading the instructions, this is used in place of shampoo, is that right?

The small size is worth £7 so we’re now at £262.

functioningadult · 14/12/2022 21:42

Not got the JL calendar but assuming today’s is the Christophe Robin scalp scrub? You only need a tiny tiny amount so even that small tub will last aaaages. And if anyone is up for swapping I love the stuff 😁

You can have mine if you want!

functioningadult · 14/12/2022 22:05

I would love to take it off your hands. Let me know what kinds of things you’d be interested in swapping for

Roundaboot · 14/12/2022 22:23

Any kind of skincare or fragrance would be fab!

Talisin · 15/12/2022 06:46

Well, I’ll use it. How many people left in the country who haven’t already tried this though?

Stoic123 · 15/12/2022 07:25

I like using it (and would never pay full price) so I don't mind finding it in a calendar. This will help up Daily Mash's running total.
