General beauty advent calendar opening thread - all welcome

As in previous years, this is a thread for all those opening beauty advent calendars not covered by specific threads, though happy for any to be posted here too. We’d also love to hear about other non-beauty calendars.

Only one ask please, do not disclose contents of calendars before 7am on the relevant day.

I’ll be opening the Liberty and Fortnum and Mason calendars. Possibly also Latest in Beauty, assuming it arrives on time.

Only two sleeps to go - looking forward to it!

No7 has a tube of Protect and Perfect night cream today, after the day cream today. Really happy with this, one of the reasons I got this calendar.

Day 9: Very happy with today’s haul:

F&M: Aromatherapy Associates bath oil. Love this, and regularly use it.

Liberty: Two small Bamford hand and body washes - Sage and Citrus. Both scents I haven’t tried before. Quite curious as to what Sage will be like.

LiB: Mauli Hair oil. Happy enough with this, something else to try to tame my frizzy hair.

I am so jealous of this picture! Beautiful!

Two mini Carolina Herrera lipsticks in HN today, in the cutest packaging. One is a matte red and the other a sheer pink.

I suppose the salt will come in handy! Will give the hair oil in LiB a go.

H&B - large pack of bath salts
Selfridges - Ren AHA body serum 200ml
body shop - shower gel

All will be used today as I attempt to soak away a rubbish night’s sleep.

Sad to report that the Terry’s choc balls are not nice - they taste stale - maybe mine were a bad batch 😭

@Pinenu hope the pampering worked. Definitely a bath and body theme to today’s items.

I seem to be in the minority in liking the Liberty Bamford atuff, everyone on the Liberty thread is disappointed. Perhaps I don’t go often enough to the right hotels (or take home the right things from them) as they still feel treat-like to me.

Roen cake mascara in HN today. Never heard of the brand but always on the lookout for the perfect mascara.

The Lumene Nordic C sleep cream from yesterday’s M&S is lovely. My skin feels like a baby’s bottom this morning. Will be purchasing a full size in January.

Full size Sunday Reilly Vitamin C moisturiser in JL this morning. Was one of the reasons I got the JL calendar.

Very happy with the JL Sunday Riley Moisturiser today. Fenwick's has an ilapothecary eye serum. Again another brand I haven't tried before. This has been a real plus for Fenwick's IMO, good brand spread compared to the usual advent calendar suspects.

Day 10: Mixed bag today

F&M is a full size Espa Clean & Green detox mask. I’m happy with this - look forward to trying it.

Liberty: Sam McKnight Deeper Love hair mask. Yet another hair product, the calendars have certainly had plenty. Looks like you use this pretty much as a conditioner, so happy enough to give it a try. At least it is not another oil or finishing product.

LiB: A travel size perfume. Unfortunately another version of Molecule 01 though, so not for me.

@CeeCeeDeeBee a Roen mascara sounds good; really nice brands in H&N

@Peridot1 @Stokey the full size SR moisturiser sounds excellent. Also looks like Fenwick have done well brand wise, even if some of the sizes have been small.

No7 day 10 is a mini Protect and Perfect eye cream , used it this morning and it was surprisingly nice.

@AprilLady yes Fenwick's wasn't worth the £200 it started out at, but there's definitely been enough to make me pleased to have got it half price!

@AprilLady it's full size, too :) I've tried it this morning and think it's a good everyday mascara. Makes lashes a bit thicker and fluffier but not noticeably longer.

@Giftwithpurchase I think that’s just how they taste 😂 I was expecting a malteser-style filling but they’re made of cereal, hence the cardboardy texture.

😂 @Pinenu I think that's the problem - I wanted them to taste like choc orange malteasers 😭

My husband was so chuffed with this. He loves his degusta box of salt, we'll have to see if it lives up to last year's one.

I'm pleased with both Liberty and Glossybox calendars. They're so different that they compliment each other. A lot of disappointment floating about for Liberty but I'm very happy.

Late to the thread due to phone issues but never mind! I have Next and am v happy with it overall. Today is excellent - Gatineau 75ml tube of gommage.

Can't stand muesli so Degustabox a fail for me today. Hoping I like this Molecule perfume, not tried this particular one before. My homemade calendar is definitely turning out to be my best so far.

ESPA cleansing balm and mask today! Both from the Tri-Active Regenerating range. 55g balm and 30ml mask, so decent sizes.

Day 11:

F&M: Bramley shampoo, full size. By the size and shape of the drawer 12 next to it, I predict the conditioner will follow. More functional than exciting perhaps.

Liberty: LA Bruket lip balm. Looks quite interesting.

LiB: A sleep spray! First of the year, and I far prefer the Bamford one to This Works. So an okay product.

Overall, an okay day today.
