Botox question - did you bruise?

mynameischloe · 24/11/2022 14:13

I've booked in to have Botox next week, elevens and forehead.

I bruise very easily and I'm worried my face will look dreadful!!

If you've had Botox (and specifically those areas) did you bruise or not? Could it be covered with makeup afterwards?

Thank you.

Tiny bruises, about 2mm across, easily hidden with concealer

CatJumperTwat · 24/11/2022 14:17

I don't know what elevens are. I had it in my masseter muscle (cheek/jaw area) and didn't bruise at all. It was a bit red when I left the clinic but that didn't last long.

Inspirationpending · 24/11/2022 14:18

Slight bruising but easily covered with makeup

AnnaMagnani · 24/11/2022 14:18

No. Sometimes it stings more than others but no bruising.

mynameischloe · 24/11/2022 14:22

Thanks all!

@CatJumperTwat elevens are the two frown lines people sometimes have between their eyes which can look like the number 11.

I get Slight redness but no bruising. Don't drink alcohol the day before either as that minimises bruising too.

Isthatarealname · 24/11/2022 15:37

I bruise easily and just had redness for the first couple of hours

fiorentina · 24/11/2022 16:34

I bruise easily and no I didn’t. She put arnica on afterwards which may have helped.

CraigDavid · 24/11/2022 16:36

Nope. I just looked blotchy for a few hours.

starsareblazing · 24/11/2022 17:34

I bruise really easily and the first time I didn't bruise at all, the second time bruised on one side of my elevenses but it was small and easily covered with concealer!

TheOGCCL · 25/11/2022 09:22

The needles are so fine that even if you bruise slightly it’s not very noticeable and as others have said easily concealed.

Burnamer · 25/11/2022 09:23

No bruise at all - straight back to the office

5128gap · 25/11/2022 18:24

I sometimes do but not immediately, a couple of days later, very slight, easily covered with make up.
Avoid ibuprofen and cod liver oil supplements for a few days before.

Passmeaplacard · 25/11/2022 18:39

I bruise easily but didn’t have any, just some raised marks on the injection sites for the rest of the day

mynameischloe · 25/11/2022 18:54

Thanks all!

I've just booked my first Botox session the week after next @mynameischloe 😊 we will have to compare notes!
I'm also having elevenses done (although I only have one line not two!)

Ooh are you having your forehead lines too? Yes definitely!

OP posts:
givememarmite · 25/11/2022 20:10

No not having the forehead lines done. Going to wait and see how I feel after this first but will definitely consider it!

mynameischloe · 25/11/2022 20:18

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm mid-thirties!

I'm 45...probably should have started a while ago 😬

ghostyslovesheets · 25/11/2022 21:43

No I didn't bruise but I did have the needle 'resist' my middle between the brows causing the needle to come away and the Botox to get in my eye!

Oh gosh what on earth?? What happened when the Botox went in your eye??

I used to have 42 botox injections across my face, head, neck and shoulders for migraine (through neurology). I bruise well, but only two tiny bruises despite all those injections every 3 months for nearly 2.5yrs.

It's a tiny needle and shouldn't be a lot of liquid.

mynameischloe · 25/11/2022 22:22

Thank you.

I'm going to ask for a very small amount and add more in two week if needed. I'd rather have less and add more.

OP posts:
mynameischloe · 25/11/2022 22:23

@GetOffTheRoof did it help your migraines just out of interest?
