Botox question - did you bruise?

mynameischloe · 24/11/2022 14:13

I've booked in to have Botox next week, elevens and forehead.

I bruise very easily and I'm worried my face will look dreadful!!

If you've had Botox (and specifically those areas) did you bruise or not? Could it be covered with makeup afterwards?

Thank you.

Oh gosh what on earth?? What happened when the Botox went in your eye??

Nothing oddly! I thought it would freeze or at least look younger than the other one 😂 but no it was fine

@GetOffTheRoof did it help your migraines just out of interest?

Yes and no - it halved my attacks from 27 to 15 days a month and massively reduced the severity of 95% of each attack. However 15 days a month is still unsustainable. I'm now on Ajovy, a once a month self injection which has me down to 4-5 attacks per month.

mynameischloe · 25/11/2022 22:32

@ghostyslovesheets  glad it was ok!

@GetOffTheRoof that sounds awful, I can't imagine Flowers im pleased you've found something which helps.

Good luck! I had it done for the first time a few months ago and loved it, definitely will have it again.

mynameischloe · 28/11/2022 19:55

Ooh glad you like it. Which areas did you have done?

OP posts:
Claudia84 · 28/11/2022 20:10

I've had 11s done a few times now. It honestly makes so much of a difference and it won't be noticeable don't worry. Well.. only to you.
Hope you love it OP

CraigDavid · 28/11/2022 23:04

I had my number 11s and my forehead. I love not feeling like I'm not frowning all the time.

mynameischloe · 29/11/2022 11:34

I've just had it done! Happy to post updates if anyone is interested

Oh i was just checking in to see when your appointment is @mynameischloe 😊 joe did it go? What are your first impressions?
My appointment is a week today and I can't wait!

ShirleyKnott · 29/11/2022 15:50

In my long experience of this the real day when you notice is Day ten

mynameischloe · 29/11/2022 17:15

It was fine!!!

I went for forehead, elevens and crows feet.

She said day 7-10 it would begin to really show and then max out at day 14.

When is your appt @givememarmite

OP posts:
givememarmite · 29/11/2022 17:27

Sounds great @mynameischloe 👍🏼

My appointment is next Tuesday morning. She also said I need to go back 12 -14 days later to check for a top up so I guess that fits in with what you and @ShirleyKnott say.

Very excited now and also considering crows feet 🙈

mynameischloe · 29/11/2022 17:27

Well it was a bit of a last minute decision but two areas were £180 and three was £200 so I thought why not Grin

greenfieldsblueskies · 29/11/2022 17:36

Does it hurt?

greenfieldsblueskies · 29/11/2022 17:37

I mean hurt when you have it done

mynameischloe · 29/11/2022 17:41

No it just pinches a little. Forehead I only just felt, frown lines a little, and the crows feet a little bit more. But it doesn't hurt afterwards.

Passmeaplacard · 29/11/2022 21:17

I actually did find it pretty painful and I didn’t expect to. However it’s over very fast and the pain doesn’t last it’s just when the needle goes in.
Very much worth it!

givememarmite · 06/12/2022 12:47

@mynameischloe how is it looking now after a few days? Are you happy with it?

I'm gutted I had to cancel my appointment today as my DD is sick and DH is away with work...will have to wait til January for a new appointment now!

Smearywindowsagain · 06/12/2022 12:51

I do occasionally, usually can cover with makeup but last time got a massive one on my cheek that didn’t cover very well even with Estée Lauder dw.

Smearywindowsagain · 06/12/2022 12:53

The biggest problem I have is each side of my face reacts to it differently. It kicks in quicker on my left side so my eyebrows are always wonky for a while.

largeprintagathachristie · 06/12/2022 12:56

Had Botox for the first time last week. Just my elevens.
I bruise easily but I didn’t bruise.

mynameischloe · 06/12/2022 18:46

@givememarmite it's started to work a little but not loads yet... it's day 7 today so I'm hoping it'll start kicking in more soon.

That's a shame you had to cancel your appointment :(

How's your progress so far?

It’s not day 10 for me until Friday but I’m really happy already. I’m 51 so I thought my elevens might be too entrenched for much of a result. But it has worked. Even with asking the doctor to “go light”. My elevens are gone but I don’t look ‘done’. DP hasn’t noticed, which is actually what I was aiming for!

I’m kind of surprised to find myself on this thread, as I was pretty anti. But I’ve had a rubbish year health wise and was feeling and looking a bit haggard. This has been a morale boost. and better value for money than much of my spending to date on trying to find the latest holy grail in skincare etc.

May venture into getting crows feet treated next time.
