I have tried facials (including hydro facial which was ££), various serums, creams etc and they all seem to do very little.

I have had Botox around my eyes and I am keen to get it again in and in my forehead / 11s too but I am currently pregnant so it will be next year that I look into that.

My forehead has so many fine lines and looks seriously dehydrated.

Please tell me - what worked for you?

Full fat Nivea, exercise, lots of fluids.

Catslovepies · 18/11/2022 15:38

The Ordinary retinol with squalene at night, and the Ordinary buffet in the morning. After a few weeks of this routine I started getting so many compliments. Not expensive, either.

Jogging
Sauna

All the facials in the world won’t make you look as good as a ten minute slow jog twice a week. Yes, I know, I hate jogging too.

Tretinoin for me!

shams05 · 18/11/2022 15:56

I went dairy free for 18 months because dd 2 was dairy intolerant.
My skin was the best it's ever been, I stopped having to use moisturiser and facewash, no greasy spots just soft supple skin

singleone · 18/11/2022 16:11

Ren ready steady glow

Snail Muncin serum and cream layered under usual moisturiser

My skin was seriously dehydrated and just looked dull and horrible. Since using these daily with a retinol product in the evening it's much brighter and looks/feels plumper and more hydrated.

Lots and lots of water. No sugar.

Plastichanger · 18/11/2022 16:14

I have really spotty skin. The spots disappeared and have stayed away after I started using dermalogica daily microfoliant. I also have pretty oily skin so no moisturisers etc - just the dermalogica daily microfoliant once a day.

learieonthewildmoor · 18/11/2022 16:22

Hyalauronic acid serum and then moisturiser in the morning and Clinique Moisture Surge at night.

Foxfeeder · 18/11/2022 16:24

I started really looking after my skin last year (after many years of a basic cleanse, tone and moisturiser with spf twice a day) and I’ve realised just how dehydrated it was.

The main things I’ve added in are Hada Labo hyaluronic acid, Dermatica Tret, Squalane after my normal moisturiser, and The Ordinary Argireline for my frown line.

I used to have Botox and the softening of my frown line that I’ve got from Airgireline and Tret is almost as good but much, much cheaper!

Weleda skin food is brilliant for my dry skin

LimeCheesecake · 18/11/2022 17:01

Water. I started drinking enough water, I looked younger. I’ve called off the wagon with that this month as changed roles slightly at work and suddenly look haggered again. Drink more water.

also previously gained weight and it seemed to fill out the wrinkles. I have a choice between a flat belly or a fab face.

westthroughthewhitleywood · 18/11/2022 17:07

Salycylic acid- face wash, gel to dab on as needed, shampoo and conditioner. Only thing that has helped my rosacea, hormonal spots, and itchy scalp.

Shitfather · 18/11/2022 17:08

EastCoker · 18/11/2022 17:46

I'm going to say retinol and vit c if you're just talking about skincare.

I don't think you need to be told that a healthy lifestyle works wonders!

But I will say I do think some skin-types are more prone to wrinkling than others. I'm a sagger not a wrinkler, I absolutely will be getting a lower face lift at some point but botox and fillers have never held any appeal.

JMAngel1 · 18/11/2022 19:44

Same as a pp; giving up dairy. Being better with sun cream has improved the look of my skin.

Finelinesdontlookfine · 18/11/2022 20:54

Thank you!

Any spf recs that aren’t too thick on the skin please?
