My close friend, who lives really far in another prefecture, came yesterday to Tokyo for the last time before she gives birth. It was a bit bittersweet moment for me, as we will probably see each other less from now on. My other close friend, who also lives quite far, is very anxious of covid despite not being in any sort of a risk group, and she hasn’t met any friends, used public transport or did any weekend shopping since 2020. We’ve messaged every day, but it’s just not the same as meeting and talking irl. I’m a tiny bit sad that I’ll be seeing yet another friend less now.

That being said, we had quite a fun time yesterday, and while we were walking in some park, we got approached by a TV crew who wanted to know what we think of Japanese autumn. I pretended I was a tourist who spoke zero Japanese and answered some nonsense just for the lulz. Unfortunately to me it got broadcasted during prime time yesterday and several people, including MIL and some acquaintance I haven’t met in 11 years, have seen it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have to share that I have just received some bargain Hoff trainers. They were in the sale on simplybe and I had a 25% code so they were just over £60! I really like them too. Been sorting out our CRM database, I really shouldn't be but if I don't it will take ages to train someone how I want it. But if I see one more hyphenated city or county I'll scream why do people need to do so many variations Devon has been the worse so far with it being put as a subburb, City and county plus shortened to Dev and lengthened to Devonshire. There's going to be so rules on data entry after this!

I’m a bit behind (again). Busy, busy, busy at work. Plus we had to deal with DD writing her car off (she’s 300 miles away at university). Fortunately no one was hurt, and it doesn’t seem to have been her fault this time (it’s the second car she’s written off this year, and her 4th accident since passing her driving test in November 2021).

@Softpebbles great bargain, I’d looked at those but I have a pair and don’t need more ( sadly)

last night was lovely. Even though we were late as DH was very delayed at the vet with old dog. Their blood pressure monitor wasn’t working and he got home 5 minutes before we needed to leave! We had such a good time ( enhanced by DD and GF being very good mates with the owners, he supplies all their baked goods) with a delicious and massive meal , very chilled and great company ( I forget sometimes how much DS has matured). We looked at their latest tattoos and planned our next time with them looking after DD and animals so we may go away again in the new year ( it’s our wedding anniversary end of January)

today is bloody freezing! Was minus 1 on drive home last night a bit hairy on country roads and deer all over the place

@Softpebbles I have a couple of pairs of Hoff from Vinted - both brand new / had only been tried on/worn once. They come up quite often on Vinted for around the £30/35 mark if anyone is after a pair.
I find them sooo comfy & hopefully even if they become much more popular the branding is less obvious than something like Veja

I took DD 3 times this week to see the otolaryngologist, it was so fast each time, but today there was a queue and we (I) decided not to wait. Now I worry whether she'll get worse like last time after not having her nose professionally cleaned for one single day. 🤦🏼‍♀️

My poor DS has been given the gift of strep throat and covid for his 8th birthday- a thoroughly miserable time for him and I had a very stressful evening last night trying to find a chemist that had the right penicillin in stock - seems there is a shortage. Thankfully we now have some and he seems a little brighter.
So I'm wearing scruffy joggers and an ancient jumper (we had snow today so wrapped up warm) and look totally unpresntable.

Gosh I have got lots of catching up to do, been so busy!
@EllaPaella oh that's awful, poor little mite, it's so stressful when your dc are poorly especially with anything strep related or covid I'm glad he's feeling a tad better, though hopefully he'll wake up tomorrow feeling a bit more better 🤞😊

I have bought a new coat from Karen millen so am expecting that tomorrow, it looks super warm, so I'm hoping it does the job, especially in this freezing weather, its been soooo bloody cold!
We have managed to get one of our trees up so far, got to sort the other 2 mains one out, then the little ones also, it takes about a week to put all our Xmas Dec's up, but the dc love it so that's all that matters, does anybody else have Xmas Dec's up yet?????🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄✨️✨️✨️ who's getting excited, have you all been good???🤣

@Puddinandpie we put ours up last Sunday mainly because my DH bought a new tree and gets more excited than anyone else 😁
This weekend I'm going to get some garlands of fresh holly to hang in various different rooms as well.
