Where are you buying tights that fit well, are comfy and stay up and secure over a tummy??

If you've found this page in search of tights that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best tights useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

Snag tights are the best imo

RandomCatGenerator · 23/10/2022 23:43

Oh my god I hate tights.

BUT M and S ones are better this year than previous years I think. The 40 denier, 3 for £6 ones. Temperature regulating I think they’re called. They look very smooth and stay up and don’t pinch.

Niftythrifter · 24/10/2022 07:42

Primark and John Lewis

boogiejive · 24/10/2022 07:42

Snag tights, although it pains me to do so.

StarlightLady · 24/10/2022 10:18

I won’t touch Snag because of their marketing style.

M&S Autograph Seam Free for me. No centre seam, so no line across the tummy, that looks like where the plaster cast mould was removed when you were made 😂.

A “practical” sized cotton gusset too, so knickers optional. They stay up better without as they adhere to the body, no double layering slippage. Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it!

FlippertyGibberts · 24/10/2022 11:47

Snag are a No for me too.

I also like the M&S temperature regulating ones, and they're really reasonably priced.

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 24/10/2022 11:51

M&S keep falling down on me. I'm trying snag.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 24/10/2022 11:52

I go with the popsy tights. Similar to snag tights but without the weird marketing.

yerdaindicatesonbends · 24/10/2022 11:54

Another one saying snag. I’m really tall so tights have always been fairly impossible. I would say my snag tights are actually a little big but they still stay up!

PortalooSunset · 24/10/2022 12:03

Snag for colourful ones. Though tbh they're such good quality and wash well I haven't needed to buy any new ones for ages so no idea on their current marketing strategies!
Also Heat Holders thermal ones! Got to be branded though they're the only ones that go over my massive arse comfortably

gogohmm · 24/10/2022 12:18

Sainsburys ones are fine

doublecleansed · 24/10/2022 12:20

I like White Stuff Patty tights - really comfy and stay up on me (am tall) - but I notice they've increased the price this year...as with most things :(

RandomCatGenerator · 24/10/2022 12:27

At risk of falling into a hole…what’s wrong with snag marketing…?

I would also add - absolutely do not bother with Heist tights. SO expensive. SUCH high expectations. SO uncomfortable.

peaceandove · 24/10/2022 12:38

Wolford. Always, always Wolford.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 24/10/2022 12:39

@gogohmm - agreed - Sainsburys ones are great. Primark opaques are good too.

I've never got the love for Wolford wool tights - just never worked for me.

SatinHeart · 24/10/2022 12:40

Snag
H&M
White stuff

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/10/2022 13:24

M&S Autograph here.

OhWifey · 24/10/2022 13:32

I'm very pleasantly surprised with my White Stuff Patty tights

WitchyMother · 24/10/2022 13:53

Primark and M&S.
I bought several pairs of Snag off the recommendations I read on here and didn't find them good. They weren't a good fit, they laddered at the first wear and their tea coloured tights looked like geriatric travel support tights. So disappointing. Sad I wasted the money on them as they were rubbish.
