I’m going to a wedding next Friday and I’ve just tried my dress on, it shows every lump and bump, I must have put on more than a few pounds. I can not afford a new dress this one was 86p from the charity shop. I need some shapewear that actual works and cheap as possible has anybody got any recommendations? I’m just feeling really rubbish about my self so any other tips would be greatly appreciate.

If you've found this page in search of shapewear that has been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best shapewear useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

It would be cheaper to get another charity shop dress than shapewear that works

I’ve scoured the charity shops and there’s literally nothing about, that was my first thought too. I went into TKmaxx they had loads for under £20 but I didn’t know what makes to get.

Try Asda, I have shapewear from there, though it was 3-4 years ago

I’ve heard that Primark do a SKMs dupe which is really good.

Uniqlo if you are a 16 (maybe 18) or smaller.
