Love Faustina's outfit btw

Snowyowl78 · 18/10/2022 15:38

There’s loads of new stuff! In tops and tees as well as dresses. Quite expensive as is a lot of silk and velvet

faustina · 18/10/2022 16:57

Thanks @lordloveadog - just about to write them a little thank you note

I saw the linen/silk and velvet things in the Cambridge shop - the brown trousers and shirt were a really nice colour - also the new Alix.

No more shopping for me for a while until I've sorted out my bursting wardrobe - it's really quite warm here so haven't got my head round winter things.

I have seen quite a few nice Kemi Telford dresses on the TKMaxx website if anyone's interested (I know some of you like her things)

Snowyowl78 · 18/10/2022 17:48

I love this:

www.toa.st/products/border-print-silk-twill-dress-soft-ochre-oil

obviously there is no way I’m actually going to buy it due to price! Looks like the same shape as the Gathered Turrell Check Dress.

TheChattyRat · 18/10/2022 20:36

Great jumper @faustina I love donegal wool.
In unseasonal toast news the fracap fisherman sandals arrived and I really like them.

In my search for cord trousers I looked at Wrap London. They have lots but what I bought were these stitch detail trousers which I love and hope to in the winter sale eventually so I can get a second colour. I got the charcoal. I posted a photo on the what we are wearing thread. Really excellent

dudsville · 18/10/2022 21:03

They look so cute @TheChattyRat ! And I'm now exploring Wrap, those trousers are fab @Sooverthemill !

My excepting boring toast tee purchase arrived today. Ordered my usual size for their tee-shirts but it's absolutely massive. Makes a dull purchase all that more boring by having to exchange it 😴

happysoju · 18/10/2022 21:06

@Snowyowl78 What a heavenly dress! I think that's my favourite piece from the collection, but for sure a sale-only kind of purchase.

I do love all the silk and velvet, but I don't really go to any events or parties anymore! Is it too much to wear the velvet flares to the supermarket? 😅

Snowyowl78 · 18/10/2022 21:20

@happysoju me neither! Maybe if I had a wedding to go to, I don’t though!

Saurus72 · 18/10/2022 21:23

Definitely yes to the velvet flares in the supermarket 🤗

agnesmartin · 18/10/2022 22:02

<delurks><runs off to find the velvet flares>

AFingerofFudge · 18/10/2022 22:32

@faustina nothing comes up when I search for Kemi Telford on TK Maxx - are they just under general dresses or did you search the name??

faustina · 19/10/2022 06:48

@AFingerofFudge - some brands make themselves invisible in the search box - so annoying. Just go to dresses and scroll down, there are quite a few still. When you find one, it often suggests others underneath by the same brand (though you have to click on them to check). it's worth the effort as there are some nice ones!

faustina · 19/10/2022 06:51

@Sooverthemill - those trousers are lovely and unusual and they look great on you - good find!

AFingerofFudge · 19/10/2022 07:29

@faustina thank you- I'll have a look

Sooverthemill · 19/10/2022 12:51

Thank you @faustina . I really like them and recommend Wrap London. I dint have masses from them but what I have is excellent quality and really lasting

lordloveadog · 19/10/2022 13:29

Someone commented that they look forward to cropped trousers being over. Me too.

I tried on an outfit the other day and my husband pointed out that with all the cropped trousers and short jumpers at the moment, it looks like my clothes have crawled up my body.

So that was annoying.

MrsCat1 · 19/10/2022 14:18

Hi all. Has anyone seen this bib front dress in real life yet? Big question - is it brown or is it aubergine???? Any Toast super sleuths out there?

Laska2Meryls · 19/10/2022 17:17

I have been in Oxford today and Didnt go into Toast .. Am I still allowed here ? Blush

OP posts:
TerrierOrTerror · 19/10/2022 17:18

@MrsCat1 it looks online the same colour as a poplin dresses I bought earlier in the year, which is an earth tones dark aubergine. It does lean brown but it's warm. I really like the colour, but I wear a lot of brown/plum/orange/green colours so it fits my wardrobe well.

Its a bit Julie Andrews Nun like? Apologies if I am being rude here..

OP posts:
MrsCat1 · 19/10/2022 17:29

Thank you @TerrierOrTerror Food for thought.

And yes Laska it does verge on the Julie Andrews look, but maybe that could be my new thing! I've ordered and sent back about half a dozen dresses from assorted suppliers over recent weeks so I'm clearly desperate! (So desperate I'm considering an 'almost brown' dress!)

dudsville · 19/10/2022 18:01

I've finally twigged on this thread that "drop" means new stuff! I'm off now to have a look, but I also don't have a need for silk and velvet in my life.

I've bought my first ever falke merino tights. They're so thick they look like they could actually be mended. DO i have to be careful washing them?

😂😂😂
I think it is bit severe looking. Also the colour is way too brown. I suppose it depends upon what you would style it with though.
I'm shocked that you didn't venture @Laska2Meryls
The prices of the clothes are ridiculous now.
Also dry clean for the velvet? Just why?
There is NO excuse for this and totally not environmentally friendly. I am shocked at how much they have put on the website that is dry clean.

neveradullmoment99 · 19/10/2022 19:02

Im not really sure that I love anything that much on the website. Maybe the velvet pinafore but since that is dry clean, I wouldn't buy it.
