@ScottishMouse You may get yours today too. Mine was saying it was stuck in Swansea yesterday!!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 03/12/2022 10:16

Received my parcel, all homeware. My enamel dishes are all good although I’m a bit disappointed with the plate as I was hoping it would be large enough for a pie plate but it isn't deep enough. Also the plate is the only thing that doesn’t have coloured enamel underneath so looks odd.
The bud vase is very small but will match my collection of studio pottery. I’m still wishing I’d been able to get some napkins but hopefully they will appear in another sale.

Brillenbar47 · 03/12/2022 12:17

My first parcel arrived too. Homeware all great (4 rust napkins the enamel baking dishes in 3 sizes and 2 candlesticks). Of the clothes - coat is a definite return I feel like a dress up dolly init. I ordered the silk velvet dress in 2 colours and will keep the caper (orange being judged as too autumnal by dc3). It looks really beautiful with gold shoes and needs to be belted and the material is just exquisite. I also have the Jude moss check trousers which I like the fit of at the top and the wool is lovely and soft but they are just a little short (I am little and I wanted them full length and the hem is not very deep). I ordered Jude in my third order (!!!l so I will wait and see how they fit. Such a joy to unwrap!!!!

SmaugMum · 03/12/2022 12:31

Having moaned about my deodorant-stained shirt yesterday (sorry for the name change; I use the other to post about family stuff), I am really pleased with today’s order of four enamel coral plates and ditto four bowls and cups. DD1 is a Girlguiding Ranger and camps in all seasons and all weathers; she always has to take a ‘pot bag’ so the enamel stuff is indestructible and easily recognisable (she is registered blind. Also, a by-product of DD1 being registered blind is that she is inadvertently clumsy and too many of my Le Creuset Volcanic crockery have become casualties. I realised that the Toast coral works brilliantly with my Le Creuset, so DD1 gets the stylish enamel and no more chipped or smashed £20 bowls!

I also got six Indigo linen napkins; I have a drawer full of these now - in different colours - but they are amazing quality, are used daily and occasionally double up as bandanas. They’re an absolute steal at £4 each.

Finally, the wool embroidered dress; wow, it is a thing of beauty! I love it and will wear it endlessly, both dressed up with fancy shoes etc for Christmas drinks and dressed down with Breton tops and neat navy wool jumpers enough. It’s the first time I’ve ever sized up for Toast but I read the reviews carefully and one said it was a neater fit than usual. I’m glad I did as the dress will now accommodate tops underneath. £95 instead of a whopping £495!

A boring picture of a crockery cupboard to show how the Toast coral enamel works with Le Creuset in Volcanic and Cherry.

@SmaugMum that sounds like the perfect order, everything suits and no returns. The dress sounds wonderful, are you going to do a picture? (No pressure)
I still seem to be unable to post a photo of my jumper, when I select to add a photo it jumps to one particular album in my photos and I can't change it.

dudsville · 03/12/2022 14:11

That was an amazing markdown and such a beautiful dress, so glad someone here gets to wear that dress @SmaugMum !

I've got LOT of returns. The green/blue check pjs that I thought were a sure thing as I knew I loved the matieral having already got the nightdress - well the proportions were just odd. I've also sent back the oddly smaller emma's - I showed OH, comparing them with my own emma's in apparently the same size and he agreed - even the neck is narrower. The orange velevet dress didn't suit me at all. The Ikat trousers - I had to size up in these and this meant the porportions were out again. The seed check top was great in the sleeves and main body but the neckline didn't suit me at all. For the price I spent some time wondering if I could alter it, but I couldn't find a way to do this.

The checkerboard PJs are great (and perfect proportions even thought the same size M as he green/blue ones!), as is the needlecord raglan top, and so far that's all I've kept!

Snowyowl78 · 03/12/2022 14:22

Glad to hear of the successes! So far I only have a cashmere cotton scarf - a keeper! Is lovely.
if anyone has Luna fomo I might sell one soon, I was a bit silly and kept 2 sizes a while back and I really don’t need two. I will prob sell a 10.

dudsville · 03/12/2022 16:31

I've sent back 5 packages today and yesterday, all via the post office, and one of them isn't showing any tracking update, the others all say "we've got it". Can you think of any reason why I should be concerned? I had a 6th package to return but the PO worker said the QR code wasn't scanning correctly so I had to bring it back home with me. I'm worried she or I did something wrong. I was really hoping to get all of these things back before the next run of strike days!

Laska2Meryls · 03/12/2022 16:40

The larger (18!) Seersucker tunic dress arrived today and is a perfect fit and gorgeous.. I am nothing like an 18 , but I suppose this was why it was in the sale ..
Gorgeous gold /green and great length on me at low calf ..Am definitely keeping..
Sadly no news on my two unfulfilled orders..

No parcels here today. They are still stuck in Swansea. Actually, one of them hasn’t even made it to Swansea, although it does say it has dispatched. I suspect it might be mid-week before I see any of them at this stage.

applecatchers36 · 03/12/2022 20:08

Same here all still saying in Swansea definitely a slower delivery than normal...

AFingerofFudge · 03/12/2022 21:09

Success! DS3 has worked out a way to select photos in a different way.
Anyway, this is the new jumper.

Looks great @AFingerofFudge and I really really like your space Invaders backdrop😃

faustina · 03/12/2022 21:40

@AFingerofFudge - that looks lovely!

Stoic123 · 03/12/2022 21:51

Loving the photos. I have a few items to pick up at the delivery office tomorrow. My very first order (Marl Cardi) is stuck in Swansea but I've had confirmation that Luna and Japanese are on their way. Sycamore and Zadie still at risk.

Feel like I'm writing in Toastie Code 😂

AFingerofFudge · 03/12/2022 22:02

Ha! Thanks. @Laska2Meryls the space invaders arrived in that room when DS1 moved in there aged 6 - he's now 23! DS3 has recently moved in there and insisted they stayed on the wall!

Countmeout · 04/12/2022 07:08

That jumper looks great @AFingerofFudge . That’s the one I ordered in the other colour. Royal Mail have told me they have a parcel for delivery but they don’t know when they’ll deliver it. The rest are apparently in the Swansea black hole but I had a parcel arrive a few weeks ago that was supposedly in Swansea but had escaped their clutches so who knows?
I love your crockery cupboard too @SmaugMum .

dudsville · 04/12/2022 07:58

I think the next strike days are friday and Saturday, 🤞 for overwhelmed swansea staff!

SmaugMum · 04/12/2022 10:41

Does anyone have the Novesta plimsolls? What is the sizing/fit like?

neveradullmoment99 · 04/12/2022 11:30

I have them. I do have wide feet and am between a 6 and a 7. I find the 6 is a bit neat for me [I can feel the top of my toes in them and ideally would buy a 6.5. The 7's are slightly too big!!! I have had a size 6 in the blue that I had to sell as they seemed smaller than a pair I had. There may be a slight difference in colours and sizes too. Sorry if I am no help!!
The insole is a bit weird as it has a high instep.

Stoic123 · 04/12/2022 12:09

@SmaugMum - I have two pairs. I am usually a 39 and the 39s fit me fine.

SmaugMum · 04/12/2022 12:58

I’m more of a 5.5 with wide feet do you reckon size 39?
