@SmaugMum i would say that nobody ever wants to pay full price so I would price it about 10% higher than you’re willing to settle on and then people will offer and you can accept. I always show a pic of the care label. Also, personal preference but I don’t like seeing stuff modelled on as it just reminds you that it’s second hand! If it’s Toast I would also include a pic that shows the Toast label properly and if it’s current season include a link to the site.

EmmatheStageRat · 27/11/2022 18:14

Now I may not be quite so lucky as @Laska2Meryls , but I consider it serendipitous that I have logged onto this thread for the first time in simply ages to discover an Archive Sale! Happy dance time!

I’m thrilled to have ordered the navy wool embroidered dress, reduced from £495 to £95, plus lots of the Coral enamelware and plentiful quantities of the washed linen napkins for £4 each! That’s Christmas dressing and tableware sorted!

Stoic123 · 27/11/2022 18:28

First order in - another one who has bought a plentiful supply of linen napkins (and the charcoal marl cardigan).

dudsville · 27/11/2022 18:50

I have that cardigan and it gets so much wear @Stoic123 and hasn't bobbled at all.

I've chosen a few things to try😳. The ikat trousers, the fisherman trousers,The needlecord top in black forest, the seedcheck top and two pairs of pjs - one of them is made from the same green and blue check material as a nightdress I have and the fabric is just the perfect thickness. I'm also trying the orange silk velvet dress - this is silly as I do not need occassion wear - but I do happen to have an occassion in January.

That wool dress looks wonderful @EmmatheStageRat

faustina · 27/11/2022 20:23

I've been on a treadmill but still managed to order the carpenter trousers in lichen. I bought them in parchment last summer and they're brilliant - would 100% recommend, especially for winter as they're very thick denim

I think I'll wait til the morning to have a proper hunt

@SmaugMum - have you thought of trying ebay instead of vinted? I find it much easier and the prices seem higher (I mean you can get a better price). Either way, good luck, and if you message me your vinted username or whatever platform you choose - there might be something I want to buy? Hope you manage to raise the required funding!

Laska2Meryls · 27/11/2022 22:16

Oooh a 'secret sale ' - I suppose that it will be officially up tomorrow... I have also ordered the charcoal cardigan.. hopefully it will fit, the reviews are inconsistent on size and just how relaxed it is... They only had the M in stock so fingers crossed..
I also ordered the grandad tee in spice , but was too late for the indigo napkins as already sold out !

AmethystMoonShine · 27/11/2022 22:32

I’ve gone for some napkins, Lofty alpaca cardigan to try as I’m not sure and the anthracite cord yoke dress, again not sure. I might have tried it in a 10 previously but think it was as too big so have gone for an 8 this time. Hoping I don’t want to keep it all!

Brillenbar47 · 28/11/2022 07:48

Hi long time lurker here have been waiting for the winter archive dale excitedly for about 6 weeks! I have ordered heaps - silk velvet dress in orange and caper as couldn't decide, black denim skirt, Jude checked wool trousers, enamel baking dishes napkins and a couple of candle sticks AND the wool linen coat !! I am sure most of the clothes will go back

Countmeout · 28/11/2022 07:59

Has anyone this. I’ve ordered and now doubting my size choice. Of course I read the reviews afterwards .
How do you find the size?

Stravaig · 28/11/2022 08:05

Rise and shine, lovelies!
The official Archive Sale link is in your mailboxes.

Noeggsontoast · 28/11/2022 08:21

A very short lived sale for me again - no purchases made, same as the last sale. The items I would like to try were not available in my size. Oh well I shall have to be patient for the Xmas sale instead. Happy sale hunting to everyone else. I look forward to seeing your purchases!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 28/11/2022 08:43

Ordered more enamel dishes, really pleased with the one I bought last sale. I didn’t realise the napkins would sell out so quickly, I had them in my bag last night but they were all gone this morning. I’ve consoled myself with a bud vase.
No clothes this time, I decided to concentrate on homewares and wait for a sale after Christmas for anything else.

Stoic123 · 28/11/2022 08:44

Made one more purchase after previously mentioned charcoal cardigan and linen napkins- a needlecord raglan shirt in slate. I've got this season's tie neck version and love it.

Raglan shirt is a whim and will go straight back if not really loved as no wardrobe gap. I need a warm cardigan so hoping this one looks nice/colour suits (thanks @dudsville for info on quality). Napkins in Chalk @£4 a pop will have to be quite poor to be sent back.

@Brillenbar47 - sounds like a good haul. Have been mulling over silk velvet dresses but wouldn't wear them enough. They look gorgeous though. Please come back on to report when received.

AmethystMoonShine · 28/11/2022 08:51

For those buying or thinking about the charcoal cardigan, I just popped on to say I also think it’s a great buy.
I got this in last December’s sale and as others have said it’s great quality. Mine hasn’t pilled and is very warm when the temperature gets properly chilly. I regret sending the other colour back as it’s now sold out.

dudsville · 28/11/2022 09:21

Well I've just simply ordered too much. Hopefully I won't like some things! This morning I ordered orange and the green stripe half sleeve emmas, the soft cotton twill in slate - yes I already have the very similar version in linen, but these have the pleats partly sewn down and it's a different fabric so clearly it's not at all the same. The wild card is I'm also trying the ogee block print top and culottes - these don't instantly appeal to me but I've learned from previous sales to try some things I might not have expected to work. If I kept everything it would cost £210 a month for a few months, which seems a reasonable shopping habit considering I don't do a lot of day to day shopping generally.

I'm enjoying the grey marl cardigan love on here, it's such a wonderful cozy item.

Countmeout · 28/11/2022 09:34

I have the ogee culottes @dudsville . I bought them on impulse at the end of the last sale. I wore them quite a bit on holiday. Very easy to wear. Quite light. Great pockets of course, surprisingly flattering on . I have only worn them with a white top. I was hoping to find a jumper the same colour as the dark part of the print at some point to bring them out again in early spring. Hope you like them too.

Snowyowl78 · 28/11/2022 09:38

Me too! Ordered the Emma in coffee bean, the space check shirt dress, fisherman’s trousers, brown ochre trousers and of course the cardigan! I struggle with the logistics of wearing cardigans sometimes, when you leave the house do you wear a coat over it?! Would be nice to have a nice cardigan to show off T-shirts.

dudsville · 28/11/2022 10:29

@Snowyowl78 , I wear it over lighter layers, like your teeshirt suggestion, as it's really warm. In the depths of winter I'd wear it under a coat or take it to wear at destination depending on how bulky I was happy to be!

I hope you all get the size you want. Mine are mediums. I always wear cardigans open and this is a loose fit on me (12 in tops usually) and falls to below my bottom (I'm 5'7" and nearly evenly split top to bottom half). I'd thought about wearing it today but I'd already committed to wearing an oversized toast bud check dress (it was in the sale last night but sold out quickly) with dark tights and black boots and threrefore I have already achieved the look of farmwife heading to town to ask for an extension on the loan for farm equipment.

dudsville · 28/11/2022 10:31

Is anyone getting the mini floral stich cotton dress, the one that's white with the pretty embroidery? I love it so much but can never bring myself to wear white.

dudsville · 28/11/2022 10:34

Thanks @Countmeout for the review of the ogee. I hope I enjoy it as much as you!

Snowyowl78 · 28/11/2022 10:35

@dudsville ive ordered the medium I think it will be fine size wise as I want it big and cosy! Does sound very long though, maybe it will almost be a coatigan for me!

TerrierOrTerror · 28/11/2022 10:41

I have ordered some culottes and a rainhat. I wonder if the culottes will be too small but the size 12 had sold out whilst I was debating on the hat.

Wasn't hugely tempted by much else, though I may be swayed by some candlestick holders in a few hours.

ToastCosILoveIt · 28/11/2022 10:49

Lots selling out very quickly, two dresses and a scarf I have ordered have gone already so don't hang around if you really want something!

dudsville · 28/11/2022 11:15

Yes it seems like half the stuff has already gone.

Laska2Meryls · 28/11/2022 11:30

Dudsville I hope that you have (Toast)wellies and a mushroom in your pocket!
I am a good 14 on top maybe 16 because of the rugby players shoulders and norks...They only had M in the cardigan , and I would have been tempted to order a L but I am hoping that it will be ok for me .. The fact that its longer sold it to me..
Interesting that the sale stuff is going quickly, Toast has probably priced themselves out of a lot of the market.. I imagine that the proper winter sale will be very popular because of that..
