For anyone tempted by the candle holders, I've 'modelled' a couple for you 😀

I saw somebody wearing this in the summer, it would look awful on me as my arms are my worst feature, but it was a lovely summery chic top on the wearer!

TerrierOrTerror · 28/11/2022 13:16

@Stoic123 thank you! Trouble is it's my birthday later this week and I had some candle holders on my list (the joys of having parents and in laws who still ask for a list!) so it's risky, and I've asked for Toast vouchers too...

Is the one for tall candles a fairly typical size, i.e. easy to get candles to fit?

faustina · 28/11/2022 13:39

If anyone's wondering about that rainhat I can recommend - I'v head mine for ages and it's really useful. I think some people said it was quite small, but I don't find it so

Lots of velvet dresses I don't remember ever being on the main site. I haven't bought anything except the carpenter trousers - the jumper selection (like I need another jumper!) was quite poor

Stoic123 · 28/11/2022 14:17

@TerrierOrTerror - I've just measured to double check and it's the standard (7/8 in or about 22.5mm) diameter.

I imagine could be minute variations as handmade.

Stoic123 · 28/11/2022 14:31

If anyone has been looking at the Cotton Linen Canvas coat (in Bark)- I have it and it has grown on me over time.

It is a bit marmite but I've had quite a few compliments while wearing it and the colour is gorgeous.

I wear it without a belt and it's much longer on me than the photos (I'm 5'7")- nearly ankle length (might be shorter belted). I'm pear-shaped - don't think would suit anyone anyone broad shouldered.

Massively oversized so go down at least one size.

Denim shirt - don't own it but a friend does and it looks fab on her.

SmaugMum · 28/11/2022 14:53

Echoing the love for the denim shirt; I have it and it has become a real workhorse in my wardrobe. Also, as someone with sensory issues, I can vouch for the denim being super-soft and comfortable to wear.

SmaugMum · 28/11/2022 14:56

It will probably be a failed experiment, but I have ordered the silk dupion (no, autocorrect, I do not mean ‘silk dipping’) shirt in navy, as well as the Jude trousers in moss check (I love the Jude style).

@SmaugMum let me know how you get on with the silk dupion. I put it in my basket this morning but couldn’t decide and now it’s gone. I wasn’t sure at all about sizing as comments weren’t indicating one way or another. It’s sure to come back in stock

applecatchers36 · 28/11/2022 17:21

Thanks for the heads up for the archive sale ordered a few things the parchment carpenter jeans and Citroen novestas for next spring/ summer if they work. The dull gold jumpsuit and the ditsy floral dress in pea green/ blue. Excited to see if any might work 🤞

Stoic123 · 28/11/2022 17:43

Few more things added to sale- worth a check back

Snowyowl78 · 28/11/2022 18:05

Oh dear. A load more stuff appeared, so I bought a load more stuff.

I think the post office will cut me off soon.

it’s not new stuff, it’s stuff from previous sales I think?

Snowyowl78 · 28/11/2022 18:06

Ps. High recommend for the slate and brass shirts. Also the trousers in pecan.

Noeggsontoast · 28/11/2022 18:08

@Stoic123 thank you, I've now made an order. I thought this was going to be a no purchase sale again but have gone for kitty clogs, fauna pj shirt and a nightie.

SmaugMum · 28/11/2022 18:39

Oh god, you lot are terrible enablers. Off to take another look now…

Countmeout · 28/11/2022 18:43

I hate it when they do that. I wish they’d put all on at once.
The Miller coat has now appeared. I saw it in person in a shop last year and thought it was beautiful but was sold out online.
what to do 😕

Laska2Meryls · 28/11/2022 18:58

Ah, thanks @Stoic123 , I bought the olive grandad tee which I regretted not getting in the last sale. ..have worn the cumin one lots !

Laska2Meryls · 28/11/2022 19:02

Just saying, but the weekend cotton twill shirt in slate and the Taro shirt ( both back in the sale) are fab ! I have both from the last sale .
Them cotton twill shirt is pretty much a jacket ...

Laska2Meryls · 28/11/2022 19:04

I dont know where ' weekend ' came from there! I meant the slate cotton twill shirt www.toa.st/collections/sale/products/cotton-linen-twill-shirt-slate

Definitely size down

dudsville · 28/11/2022 19:25

Oh dear, I had come home from a full day of work, was running a bath, glass of wine, singing tunes on spotify to de-stress when, just scrolling MN while the bath filled... what's this? More added? Ffs. So now i have the solovair shoes, yet another set of pjs, and two more tees winging their way to me.

I agree @Countmeout , i also wish they'd do it all at once, and i also saw that coat. It's beautiful but I have resisted. Its not the "ruinous" coat is it @TheChattyRat ?

dudsville · 28/11/2022 19:27

Also, @Snowyowl78 your line re the post office made me laugh. I live in a small village. When i can i take some returns to a neighbouring post office, silly, but it makes me feel better!

Snowyowl78 · 28/11/2022 19:27

Anyone got this?
www.toa.st/products/gingham-cotton-shirt-dress-blue-slate-marine

it looks like the child of the cotton cashmere slate dress and the Turrell dress!

I have ordered but worried I’ve gone too small hmm

Countmeout · 28/11/2022 19:32

What is the ruinous coat @dudsville @TheChattyRat ? It is not much reduced admittedly. I think it was £395 last year , however it now seems cheap compared to this years coats! Something else will have to go back.

Snowyowl78 · 28/11/2022 19:42

@dudsville i like to mix it up with post office returns! Once the postwoman delivered me four different post parcels, she did not look pleased.
