What a sad old "black Friday"! Perhaps they are doing well and don't need to bump up revenue. I've managed to not shop any sales. Has anyone bought anything?

In other news, my OH is giving me the brown belt for christmas.

Noeggsontoast · 27/11/2022 13:19

@dudsville yes a little sad. No Toast purchases. I did buy a shirt dress from jigsaw, which I can use for work as well as going out. I'm a little light on workwear at the moment. It's a lovely heavy dress so perfect for this time of year and it is also beautifully cut.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/11/2022 13:47

I've not bought any Toast for a while. I really can't afford it with Christmas round the corner. I was hoping for a sale but part of me is glad in a way as I will probably be just happy waiting for the sale after Christmas. Everything is so much more expensive, and I have quite frankly quite a lot from last year's winter sale.
I've bought from other places though. Black shirt dress from kin which came back in stock and a cord velvety tiered dress in navy from hush. I also bought a black velvet plain fat face dress which is lovely.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/11/2022 13:47

I did use birthday money that I had so that was nice.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/11/2022 13:49

They may of course still have a sale...
What does everyone else think?
Could they have a pre-Christmas one?

Noeggsontoast · 27/11/2022 13:58

I have an old email from Toast for 29th November last year for an archive sale, so remain a little hopeful there will be something

Snowyowl78 · 27/11/2022 15:28

My moneys on tomorrow at 8am! Same as last two years. I’m not sure I should buy anything though, have spent loads on eBay and Vinted and actual Toast lately. I’m going to try to be selective and not panic buy!
i bought 2 linen ‘nightshirts’ from H&M which I’m going to wear as dresses hopefully- they were a total bargain.

faustina · 27/11/2022 15:32

I'm still hoping for an archive sale next week, and a sale proper just before Christmas

I've bought two things recently - one was an absolute bargain on ebay - a full length brand new Eileen Fisher dark charcoal wool coat which is enormous and soft and way too long for me, so it's being shortened at the moment.

The second thing (Toast) hasn't arrived yet - it's a bit of a gamble that the seller got the colour wrong (have seen the code on the label and am pretty sure she did) - and that it isn't too oversized on me. If wrong, I don't think it will be too hard to put back on Ebay

faustina · 27/11/2022 15:33

ooh - you reckon tomorrow @Snowyowl78 ?

Snowyowl78 · 27/11/2022 15:48

@faustina yes if the last 2 years are anything to go by, although someone said they asked on the chat and we’re told no sale! I shall be checking emails at 8am sharp!

I’ve found loads of great stuff on eBay/Vinted toast recently for good prices, makes me wonder if it’s losing its appeal or something. I’ve had 2 cashmere round jumpers, some Gabi cords and a cashmere scarf.

faustina · 27/11/2022 15:53

usually doesn't someone on here find the sale the day before? I'm off to have a hunt!

I see lots of Toast selling for quite high prices, but lately have seen stuff much cheaper too - sometimes because it's been listed wrong, sometimes auctions that no-one bid on. I sold a Toast jumper the other day and got a very good price for it!

Oh, I am working. I hope not. If it is, I won't have time to order much!

Saurus72 · 27/11/2022 16:37

There are sale things dotted around the website. If you enter an item, eg dress, jacket etc in the search bar, it brings up lots of results that you gave to scroll through. I’m not tempted by anything!

Noeggsontoast · 27/11/2022 16:44

There are some things on sale - if you type the word in search, but not many yet.... just 4 items / hereu loafers is one example. When I go to my wishlist there are also some past season items which are now reduced too.

Stoic123 · 27/11/2022 16:54

@TheChattyRat - you mentioned hoping for needlecord yoke dress (to be used as duster) would be in the sale. Think ones you are referring are now on the site?

dudsville · 27/11/2022 17:06

Oooooh, did this mean it's about to happen?

dudsville · 27/11/2022 17:19

Very exciting. All that comes up for me though are the two things I've already purchased in previously.

Countmeout · 27/11/2022 17:26

Thanks @Saurus72 . Just had a poke round the website and bought a jumper from last season which I was sorry I didn’t buy as it goes with my cupro skirt (I hope) and a blue shirt which I’m hoping will be useful. It seems to be archive as predicted. That oversized coat is there in the Ochre but not my colour. I imagine more things might be added in the morning.

Snowyowl78 · 27/11/2022 17:32

Was someone here looking for the space check tiered dress? It’s in the sale along with the shirt dress in the same fabric

Countmeout · 27/11/2022 17:33

And an everyday dress 🤦‍♀️😬
lock me up.

Snowyowl78 · 27/11/2022 17:33

Trivet alert!

TheChattyRat · 27/11/2022 17:34

<Does a happy dance>
@Stoic123 thanks for thinking of me 🙂
And from now on we must never believe anything the chat people tell us!
I'm going in...

Stravaig · 27/11/2022 17:35

Log in to account
Type 'sale' in the Search box
There's already some 60 items at discounted prices. Uploads ongoing?
I think it's all archive stuff.

I can't afford anthing at all, so happy to be spotter!

SmaugMum · 27/11/2022 17:36

I don’t think I’ve actually made an appearance on this thread as I have not bought anything Toast for ages, bar a discounted pair of Fair Isle socks. I do, however, have a few pristine Toast items to sell on (normally, I pass on to my mum but she is now housebound and so frail that she is restricted to wearing jogging suits; the indignities of being elderly). I would charity shop the unwanted garments but teen DD1 has to self-fund a Girlguiding trip to Scandinavia next summer so I thought it would be good to help her set up a Vinted account to make a few bob. DD is registered blind and also has autism and ADHD, among multiple other disabilities, so she lacks independent living skills and can’t manage to fundraise in the same way as her non-disabled Guides peers.

Does anyone have any top tips for making money on Vinted for someone who is so anachronistic that they have never bought or sold on eBay and does not have any type of social media account?!

dudsville · 27/11/2022 18:03

😁@Snowyowl78 !

The cord raglan shirts are in the sale! And a top I don't recall seeing of the seed check fabric. I think they're still setting it up though...

Good luck @SmaugMum . I only use the Toast website for sopping but lots on here use other sites so you'll hopefully get some good suggesions soon.
