@Countmeout i think Poetry is only in London so no good for me. I still haven’t ordered as I really don’t want to pay delivery.

I got a Toast order today. Peaks Print dress in a 10 which is lovely. This easy dress is definitely a lot bigger than the previous versions. Also love the kindred gift

I had the cotton cashmere check dress and the check Turrell gathered dress both taken up and I am well pleased with the results. They look so much better on me 4 inches shorter! If only Toast would do different lengths….

TheChattyRat · 07/11/2022 16:42

I agree with @dudsville (I think you mentioned it) that it would make sense for toast to offer small alterations in store such as taking hems up. Didn't uniqlo do this back in the day?
Maybe we should campaign!
@Saurus72 that dress looks lovely on you. You always do dresses well!
And @lordloveadog that sounds like a great haul. Would love to see some photos if possible (know not everyone likes to post pics)
My fair isle scarf arrived and is lovely BUT I don't think the colours suit me and as I will be wearing it close to my face I think it may be going back I did order some socks from the offer though 🙂
<drums fingers for a black Friday toast sale >

Snowyowl78 · 07/11/2022 16:50

@TheChattyRat i asked Toast about alterations and they said this:
‘We appreciate your feedback and will forward this to our production team to look into further for you. We hope this helps.’

that was two weeks ago so I assume I’m not actually going to get anything back. It would go with their ethos though to offer hemming along with their repairs service, but doesn’t sound like they’re keen at the moment!

faustina · 07/11/2022 19:30

The Uniqlo hemming thing was great if you live in London - but they'd often say 'come back tomorrow' so no good really if you don't want to face Oxford Street two days running

I finally got my lovely Toast ecru carpenter jeans shortened locally last week - had been wearing them but with turn ups that were a bit bulky.. It was £20 but worth it.

@Countmeout I measured two of my coats today (the length) - so I feel I'm more prepared next time I see something I like!

Countmeout · 07/11/2022 20:34

I suppose Toast hemming would only be useful if you lived near a Toast store unfortunately.

I don’t need a coat @faustina so am resigned to no further searching.

mizu · 07/11/2022 20:47

I am quite tall so take hems down- I say me but I mean my Afghan tailor Grin used to teach his wife so get a discount.

Really wavered over the lovely blue fairisle and the 25% off but now glad I didn't buy. Wonder if any of them will go into the next sale?

Countmeout · 09/11/2022 14:57

I have to report the Cos coat is beautiful.@faustina, it feels such good quality.. However it is too big in S. I can’t decide if it would need to be XS or XXS. The length didn’t bother me as it’s lovely over a midi dress but I thought the half belt gave it an odd shape at the back but then realised as I was packing it up the belt unbuttons.
I liked the colour as I wear a lot of green and it wants as pea soup as I anticipated as it’s herringbone and is sort of broken up. I see Jenny Garcia has bought the grey in XXS, I would like to see it without the belt on her. I am not sure I have abandoned buying it entirely. I think I might go a long way to find another coat like it.

Countmeout · 09/11/2022 14:57

Wasn’t as pea soup.

faustina · 09/11/2022 15:11

@Countmeout - it is lovely isn't it? I didn't realise Jenny Garcia had bought the grey one - and yes, I felt the same way about the belt. They do restocks if you check, but I haven't seen an XXS which I think would be necessary. I have abandoned it for the time being but if it popped up in the right size I might be persuaded - I am a bit fed up with the long delivery times though

For the time being I've found a lovely oversized heavy cotton twill coat from Monki (first thing I've bought from there!) in a really good dark navy, with raglan sleeves for £65 and then a men's Folk fleece gilet in navy from TKMaxx (wearing it now over a navy cashmere jumper - it's so warm!)

I will resume my dream coat shopping in the sales which I think might be quite soon

Saurus72 · 09/11/2022 15:53

@faustina Agree, I think the sales will be early. Last year I can remember things on Toast selling out quickly and I sense of needing to order before I missed out. I haven’t seen sell outs on anything I’ve wanted this year. I definitely feel less ‘urgency’ this year about buying things. Probably because I’ve got so much shiz already tbh. And also I’m not buying work clothes really - I wfh most of the time so just no need.

dudsville · 09/11/2022 19:39

I'm enjoying the annual coat chat and thinking about other shops, this is always such a pleasant thread! I'm doing OK trying to restrict my shopping to toast sales, I've only bought the cos jumper and a top from Thought. I also don't need anything, i love my wardrobe, but i consider toast sales to be a bit of a hobby now. I'll always look forward to seeing what they offer up!

Stoic123 · 10/11/2022 20:38

Week 2 Festive Wishlist - The Festive Table

I've gone for some fluted glasses (to use for icecream), a chopping board and the butter dish (as I love the Rebecca Williams colander I have).

faustina · 10/11/2022 21:14

I was thinking of asking if anyone won the last one? Not me sadly. Those glasses look lovely Stoic. I've chosen two wonki bowls (have recently managed to smash my much less nice big bowl) - and the black wood pizza thing

venus7 · 10/11/2022 22:08

Hello........fan of Toast, especially old Toast, calling!
What is this 25% you're all talking about? I'm signed up for emails, didn't get anything.
Also, the Muhlbauer hat in dark green. I love it, does anyone think it will be in the sale, when ever that is, or do they not include other brands they sell?

AmethystMoonShine · 11/11/2022 04:34

I also went for the black pizza board @faustina plus a linen tablecloth and a flower frog.

Hi @venus7, I think the 25% was on their website but it was very subtle if that makes sense? It wasn’t advertised on their home page as far as I recall. I also missed the email. It was only off of a few fairisle items.
as for sales generally they do often include the other brands they sell. They said there are many items that never go in the sale either.

AmethystMoonShine · 11/11/2022 04:35

Please ignore typos, I’m half asleep 😳

Thank you Amethyst; that all makes sense, typos included!

dudsville · 11/11/2022 08:50

I had a missed call yesterday and of course now I think I might have won last week's draw but missed my chance!

This week I chose a few of the bowls, then relaised that the napkins and cutlery came in sets of 4 and not singles as I'd imagined, so I entered my OH and chose the ikat napkins, the cutlery and a table cloth. I'm not so excited about homeware though.

applecatchers36 · 11/11/2022 16:16

Faustina the YMC sale indigo jeans arrived and they fit! So chuffed with them would never have thought to order in that size but after your post took a punt so thank you...will post a pic over the weekend

faustina · 11/11/2022 16:35

@applecatchers36 - so pleased you like them! Aren't they beautifully made? Would love to see a pic

@Countmeout - saw Jenny Garcia wearing The Coat on Insta today - it is so beautiful.

Dudsville, I would love it to be someone from here who won - check your emails!

Countmeout · 11/11/2022 19:32

Saw that @faustina . I think she’s taller than us though. Are you near a Cos? Wondering what you think of the XXS size wise even in grey ?

I ordered the White Stuff jumper , can’t remember who did so it up thread. It’s too big but I do like it, just not sure what it goes with that I have except the Concrete cords. It’ll have to go back because of the size anyhow. What is anyone else wearing it with?

Noeggsontoast · 11/11/2022 19:45

@Countmeout it was me who posted the white stuff jumper. I'm wearing it with the dress that was in the photo on the website with the model wearing the jumper (there's also a skirt in the same design) or simply with my jeans or wine coloured cords I bought ages ago. I took the 8 but wear 8-10 in most shops, 6-8 in Toast. I found the 10 huge when I tried it on originally.

faustina · 11/11/2022 19:48

@Countmeout - that's true, she is taller I think, but not much. I wish I did live near a Cos but I think the nearest is in London, and didn't someone say it was online only?

Countmeout · 12/11/2022 07:00

Thank @Noeggsontoast . I really like it. Thought it might work with my Toast cupro skirt from last year but the orange is too bright. Will have to have a think.

I think the green is online only @faustina but I thought the grey was available in store. I have to say their refund process was amazing. I posted it on Thursday morning and the refund was with me yesterday afternoon.

faustina · 12/11/2022 13:15

@Countmeout - yes, mine was quick too. Collected on Monday and I got the email to say they'd received it yesterday. I didn't realise the grey ones were in store (shows how often I go to a store!). there were some XS in both colours this morning but no XXS
