I’ve been off Toast for a while but was in London so wandered into the Bond Street store and bought this

www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/indigo-denim-shirt-dress-indigo-1

its been around for a while and I think one of you lovely ladies bought it some time back. I can report that it’s lovely - and surprisingly smart in an evening-out sense

mizu · 12/11/2022 17:27

Ooh that might have been me!
I wear it to work. It's gorgeous, isn't it? Surprisingly soft and a great shape. So comfortable to wear. I have 3 other, older TOAST denim dresses which I also love but this one is my current fav.

And me!
It's a lovely shape.
Toast do this in different fabrics please.

ah there you are! It’s such a great shape. I wore it with a heeled boot and some chunky jewellery and felt quite glam but still Toast-comfy

JustforToast · 12/11/2022 17:42

I also bought this

www.toa.st/collections/womens-clothing/products/blouson-sleeve-organic-needlecord-shirt-cornflower-blue

mainly because Nikki looked so cool in it in one of the Toast styling videos - but having brought it home in the cold light of day I see I look like I’m about to take off with the big puffy sleeves and my big boobs. So that’s not a keeper

applecatchers36 · 12/11/2022 18:29

Here are the YMC indigo jeans very comfy/ relaxed style

Toasties : Leafy walks and Winter woollies .. Autumn arrives!

Applecatchers, they look brilliant!

applecatchers36 · 12/11/2022 20:30

Yes am v pleased they are quite high waisted so v on trend and loose/ non tight so can see them being a weekend stalwart

dudsville · 13/11/2022 07:37

Fab purchases on here!

I was dozing off to sleep last night wondering if my life style could really accommodate the lotus leaf gown and trousers (should they ever make it to a sale).

Snowyowl78 · 14/11/2022 12:29

@Saurus72 random question - did you find the cut of the plum check dress was similar to the cotton cashmere one? I remember you tried it on. I love the cashmere one so checking if there are others in the same cut.

www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/check-cotton-twill-shirt-dress-deep-plum

Saurus72 · 14/11/2022 13:05

@Snowyowl78 It was a bit different, a gathered waist and longer. Plus the sleeves are more shirt like whereas the cotton cashmere one is dolman sleeves and a few pleats at the waist. The plum check one was a good cut, it was the fabric that didn’t really work for me, a bit too loud.

Snowyowl78 · 14/11/2022 13:11

@Saurus72 thank you that’s very helpful!
I basically want the cashmere one in other patterns /colours :)

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 14/11/2022 13:42

I ordered a few Christmas presents from Toast and I’m particularly pleased with the Hogla baskets. Also received my Kindred gift which is lovely.

I’d ordered the Pleated Palm decoration as well, which isn’t really as nice as the gift. I’m considering whether to send it back as it has the potential to be a really expensive cat toy.

ToastCosILoveIt · 14/11/2022 16:05

This thread is bad for my bank balance beyond Toast: @Noeggsontoast , I bought the lovely White Stuff burgundy and orange jumper today and a cord burgundy skirt too. There is a White Stuff shop in walking distance of my house but I have never bought from there but couldn't resist looking and it is indeed better in the flesh than on the website.

Noeggsontoast · 14/11/2022 17:21

@ToastCosILoveIt I didn't mean to enable! I haven't bought anything there for 4yrs, but it caught me eye as it was so like the Toast men's version and I like the orange pop. That cord Toast shirt, I was wanting to buy that in the green after the styling video but stumbled into Sainsbury’s a few weeks ago (I only go in 2-3 times a year for GF things I can't get elsewhere) and there was an almost identical cord shirt but without the puffy sleeves, in a soft teal/duck egg. You have however reminded me how much I like that denim dress, I tried the 8 and sent it back with the intention of ordering the smaller size but haven't yet.

@applecatchers36 I love those jeans - what a fab purchase.

Fingers crossed for this week's wish list entrants and maybe an archive sale.....

Snowyowl78 · 14/11/2022 22:05

I reckon the sale will be Monday 28th Nov as the last two have been on ‘cyber monday’

dudsville · 15/11/2022 12:15

It's always exciting when there's a possible sale on the horizon! Someone said it's likely to be an archive sale. If that's the case is there anything you're all hoping for? I missed out of the orange neat sweater and i would love to try that.

TheChattyRat · 15/11/2022 16:46

Ah @dudsville that is a good question! I am not sure...I think that chambray circle top possibly and also if there was a chambray shirt dress I would be interested. Also maybe the seed dress. None are likely to be in the sale though as they are out of season. Am hoping the (current season) plum check dress is in the sale!
There is also a yoke cord dress that was last years which I have seen worn open as a duster, quite like that. So quite a lot in fact!!

dudsville · 15/11/2022 20:09

I've also got my eye on the plum dress! It's not selling out so I have my fingers crossed we'll see it in a sale at some point, like you I'm really curious what the colour will look like on me irl.

Is the seed dress you're referring to the one that was blue and white check? If so i bought it (in a sale) and wore it so much in the warm weather. I did alter the sleeves though to make it more like the shirt dress sleeves.

TheChattyRat · 16/11/2022 07:34

Yes that is the seed dress 🙂

Laska2Meryls · 16/11/2022 08:09

I haven't bought anything from Toast since the Fairisle offer ( when I bought the scarf) but the prospect of a sale ( archive or not) is tempting... But this week I ordered a fab looking green cashmere roll neck from Hush which is due to arrive today ( I have looked at it for a while but baulked at the price ... but they have 25% offer atm) . I have also ordered a Donegal wool zipped neck tunic dress from Celtic and co.. If I keep both of those, I really cant justify spending too much at a Toast sale ....( But could I resist temptation...I am not very good at it !🤦‍♀️)

FiddleFigs · 16/11/2022 10:15

I've been flirting with the Crinkled Cotton Gingham dress for ages now. I think I might just bite the bullet and order it. Has anyone here tried/bought it? I'll probably size down to XS as it looks v roomy.

I've generally been very good about clothes shopping - last month my only purchases were an egg-yolk-yellow jumper from Cos, which I absolutely love, and a pair of fair-isle socks from Toast during the 25% offer.

lordloveadog · 16/11/2022 10:29

@FiddleFigs I have that dress and I really like it. Very good quality fabric. The blue is quite bright and the striped lining (which you see on the rolled up arms) is a good non-obvious contrast which makes it special. The wide neckline suits me.

It is indeed generously sized, even for an oversized look. I can't go down from the 18 (really 20) because wide shoulders and large boobs, but everywhere else it is very spacious. If I had slighter shoulders I'd have taken the 16. It's more generous than last year's crinkle cotton dress. On the other hand, I suspect it may lose a bit of volume when washed. Hope that helps!

FiddleFigs · 16/11/2022 11:01

@lordloveadog - thank you! It sounds lovely. I'm a high street 12, Toast 10/S but very modest in the boob department, so I think perhaps the XS will work. Will report back.

Stoic123 · 16/11/2022 12:38

@FiddleFigs - I bought one of the earlier versions and it did shrink slightly in the wash/lost a bit of volume. Not whole size shrinkage but enough so that you'd want a little bit of wiggle room.
