Where did all the stick deodorant go??

Boots, supermarkets etc all sold out apart from maybe some Mitchum for £££.

I could buy a lifetime’s supply of roll-on or spray but no stick!

Am I just unlucky? or is this some bizarre supply chain anomaly

Been going on for ages. Thank Putin (most stick deo manufactured in Russia)

Downandout01 · 03/10/2022 14:03

Yesssssss I've found same too. It's so annoying. I would give my eye teeth for a sure deo stick. All I've managed to find for months is roll ons or the odd nivea stick. Putin is the pits.

SuspiciousDuck · 03/10/2022 14:09

Is it really made in Russia!? I had no idea.

I guess I need to resign myself to rolling on and doing the flappy chicken thing while waiting for it to dry. Sigh.

Ha not just me. I haven't seen a Mitcham roll on in the stores for weeks now. And I've looked in Sainsburys, Waitrose and a big Boots.

SpinningFloppa · 03/10/2022 14:11

Can’t you just use the sprays? I’ve never used roll on can’t stand it

dementedpixie · 03/10/2022 14:11

I use a cream antiperspirant so don't have to wait for it to dry

WildCherryBlossom · 03/10/2022 14:11

That is bizarre. Russia being the hub of stick deo manufacturing. Really!?

NancyDrooo · 03/10/2022 14:11

It’s been awol for months. I bought a 6 pack from Amazon when I realised there were none to be seen anywhere, but even the price of those has shot up now.

Try places like Poundland or Home Bargains as they sometimes have older bulk stock to shift.

megletthesecond · 03/10/2022 14:11

Same. I've ended up with a gel/cream push up that has to dry. I don't have time to waft around waiting.

FlounderingFruitcake · 03/10/2022 14:13

Nivea stick back in stock on Superdrug online as of today. Just bulk ordered as god knows when it’ll be available next!

Because sprays are vile, IME. I don't want to breathe in antiperspirant.

SuspiciousDuck · 03/10/2022 15:01

Yes I don’t like spray either. And the cream one I’m using now seems to leave my skin sticky even after I wash.

Good tip re Superdrug though - I will take a look!

Have you looked online? I think wild do stick deodorant.

MarpleFan · 03/10/2022 15:40

I use Wild stick deodorant and it’s great, and eco-friendly.

imnottoofussed · 03/10/2022 15:43

I recently bought some Sure from pak cosmetics nearly £9 for two delivered 🤦‍♀️ Then two weeks later got some on my Tesco delivery as well

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 03/10/2022 15:45

Have a look at Fussy.

bigbadbarry · 03/10/2022 15:46

Ocado has dove sticks. I bought a few a while back when I saw somebody on here say they were getting hard to find, but they are still available

RagingWoke · 03/10/2022 15:46

Wild! It's lovely, smells really nice and works as well as Mitchum (and I'm sweaty).

Refills come as often as you need, I get 6 every 2 months and never ran out.

Kite22 · 03/10/2022 16:01

Went awol several months ago.
The other thread says it is because they were made in Russia.
Do seem to be reappearing over the las couple of weeks - I presume they must have moved production elsewhere.

Dinoteeth · 03/10/2022 16:04

Manufacturing of Sure and Dove has been moved to Italy but it just seems to be taking time to filter through into the shops.

Xztop · 03/10/2022 16:09

I thought it was just me!! I didn't realise it was actually a 'thing' that there's a shortage. I did however buy a nivea stick in Boots at the weekend £2.50

Ilovedthe70s · 03/10/2022 16:09

Sorry to butt in .
Can anyone tell me if the Wild sandalwood and patchouli actually smells of patchouli, I am an old hippy and none of the natural deodorants I have tried so far have more than a faint whiff of patchouli.

Know it‘a not a popular smell on here but it’s the smell of my youth and as I don’t have any friends anyway I’m not going to alienate anyone with my aroma 😀

BrownWall · 03/10/2022 16:13

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 03/10/2022 15:45

Have a look at Fussy.

Does it work for you? I found I smelt at the end of the day and had to apply it several times whereas other natural stick deodorants work great for me usually!

Worriedaboutethics · 03/10/2022 16:20

@SuspiciousDuck

its to do with the long chain carbon fatty ingredients being short

itsthesoundofthepolice · 03/10/2022 16:21

@megletthesecond a quick blast with the hairdryer in cool setting stops you having to waft about waiting on it to dry.

Someone needs to take over the manufacturing of stick deodorant the only one in shops is the Mitchum bamboo one and that makes your clothes reek if you get even the slightest bit sweaty.
