I love clothes. I have no problem with talented designers / craftspeople being well rewarded for their work. I’m the last person ever to do a Shock face at an item of clothing just because it doesn’t appeal to me. So I feel bad - but this is The Worst Frock Ever:

But is it frumpy?

Grin

Can one of you please buy it and post a thread - with photo - asking ‘how to style it’? (Never know what that means, anyway.)

Good thing it’s not polyester - one would feel bound to advise the wearer that they could have found something in a better fabric, cheaper. Even if they’d paid £1.80 …

Tbf I’m guessing the resin bustier required skill and … vision. And I’d be quite normally interested if I’d come across it in a gallery. It’s just the juxtaposition of lips and the body underneath that hurts my brain - something about the dignity of women. And the nastiness of the viscose rag attached to it. Does silk not like resin? Why couldn’t they have used velvet? It would hardly have made a difference to the price.

DSM is a shop I love and admire hugely. It irks me that I don’t seem to be grasping this.

We Should Be Told.

I think you'd probably need a cardi, what with it getting chilly at night now.

Possibly a vest underneath it. And thermal long-johns, what with the price of heating and everything.

Yes... I suppose the one good thing about the boots is you could wear woolly socks inside them and leg warmers as well.

At least the MaxMara things look warm, you wouldn't need your heating on kitted out in those.

“It’s my younger sister’s wedding. When I showed my mum my dress on FaceTime she started crying and shouting that I shouldn’t be trying to upstage the bride. And that I’d always been selfish and jealous and she wished she’d never had me. What do you think?”

‘You do you hun, if you feel good in it! Might want a pashmina though, it gets chilly in church. And maybe a fascinator?’

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/09/2022 08:36

I think it's funny. Expensive though

CookieDoughKid · 30/09/2022 08:38

You have to factor in cost per wear 🙃

LadyWithLapdog · 30/09/2022 13:30

Would accessorising with a Lulu Guineas lips bag be too much?

MuddlerInLaw · 30/09/2022 13:36

Far too matchy matchy!

Needs a tweed briefcase and a rain hat.

Abaiia · 30/09/2022 13:44

At least it provides somewhere to put your purse when you wear it to Tesco.

An enormous brimmed rain hat, or more likely an umbrella, to prevent those boots filling up with water.

Oh Christ. I opened the link twice. So now my internet experience is going to be as fucked as that anus-bust looks.

If it makes the chicken with raspberry jam video go away, I'll accept it.

Maybe it's so expensive because it's made out of actual human lips?
